Hi, has anyone had fertility treatment here? What was their experience and success rates? Asking on behalf of a friend who is currently having treatment there for underlining gynaecology issues (fibroids/endometriosis) and she’s been referred here. She’ll be going down the route of donor sperm and possibly donor egg too because of her age (44).

Any feedback from people who have had treatment there would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone

We have even under Croydon for over a year now.
We have a follow up in April and potentially start IVF after my surgery for endometriosis
I wanted to ask, do you know how quickly does this happen? Is it months before I will be referred for IVF

Sar1990 · 21/03/2023 16:20

Hi, no you just call Croydon. No blood tests just home pregnancy tests and then they will book you in for a scan at about 6 weeks 4 days.

JeanieJ · 21/03/2023 16:37

Thank you.

I called & she booked in for 6w2days. Hopefully I see something 🙏🏻🤞🏻

@JeanieJ Congratulations!! I hope all goes well for you and your family 🥳

@NDJ I called up around 6 months after my endo surgery to get the ball rolling. In all, it was 9 months between my surgery and starting an IVF cycle.

Jessica05 · 21/03/2023 18:42

@JeanieJ congratulations
once you get a positive pregnancy test, call Croydon fertility unit, the nurses will book you for a scan.

Hello ladies,

How are you all doing?
We are few weeks away from starting the injections, very excited about it and a bit worried as well.

I was wondering if there's a quick way to have a copy of my test results from the clinic?

I've sent 2 emails, 1 call, and haven't received them.

JeanieJ · 28/03/2023 15:05

@Caro4 I
I found the best way to do this is to ask in person, so they do it then & there (maybe at your day 2 scan?)
I gave up emailing them years ago because I never got an answer.

xx

Hi everyone. How is everyone doing?
we are finally at the stage of waiting for our funding to come through... just feeling anxious as we haven't had a call to sign the papers yet and Dr Shoba said we would get it "very soon" during the call.

Could anyone shed some light on those timeframes please?

Jessica05 · 30/05/2023 22:55

@juliettefreire hi Juliette it may take up to 3 months, but all depend how busy they are.

juliettefreire · 31/05/2023 07:52

Thank you for the reply. Just to sign the papers? Wow I am really surprised. As the doctor said soon and then that it would take around 4 months for the treatment to start but if they take 3 months to sign papers and then another 4 to start treatment that is almost another year?!

JeanieJ · 04/06/2023 17:44

@juliettefreire I think it really depends on the time of year & how many people are on the list.
For me, I waited about 6/7 weeks to do my papers. Not sure why the doc said it would take 4 months to start the treatment because when I did it, I just had to call them once I got my next period to get going.
The nurses will talk you through everything once you get that initial appointment xx

juliettefreire · 05/06/2023 19:29

Hi JeanieJ, thank you so much for the reply. From what you are saying it looks like signing the papers is the last step before then being able to start the treatment.
I must've misunderstood the doctor then as I really thought she said soon to sign papers then wait 3/4 months. Fingers crossed I guess!

Sar1990 · 06/06/2023 07:01

Once I had signed the papers I started the next month so hopefully you don’t have a wait. Good luck! X

JeanieJ · 07/06/2023 17:27

@juliettefreire yep, I pretty much signed the papers and started the next month. Not sure why Dr Shuba said that to you. To be honest, the nurses pretty much manage the whole IVF process in terms of timings etc, so once you go through the papers with one of them, you'll be alot clearer. Best of luck xx

juliettefreire · 30/06/2023 16:26

Hello everyone. I had a missed call from the hospital and have been ringing for 2 days and no one answers. The nurse left message and said it was her direct line but it's not actually... bit disappointed.

does anyone have any tips on getting in contact with them? I feel very anxious about having missed the call and no one trying again

Sar1990 · 30/06/2023 19:34

Hiya, I have been discharged for a few months now but I always found the best time was to call was between 8-8.30. Hope you get through soon

JrossH · 10/07/2023 08:51

Hi we’ve had our first appointment referral and we’re now a week away and haven’t received our info on how to access the video link and join the appointment. Does anyone have any advice on best way to get in contact? I’ve tried multiple times and numbers but no luck. After 4 months of waiting for the appointment I really don’t want to miss it.

Caro4 · 12/07/2023 10:36

Hi, the best way to speak to them is this number 02084013000, extension 4574.
Best time to call is before noon.
If it's busy, you can leave a message and they'll call you back.
Hope everything goes well!😊

Mariya99 · 17/07/2023 10:21

Hi, following 2 failed fet transfers, I am starting my new transfer and having a endo-scratch done, has anyone ever had this? Is it painful? Its also self-funded this time so I really hope I do fall pregnant this time round!

juliettefreire · 24/10/2023 12:27

Hello everyone. Reviving this thread.... hope everyone is well.
is anyone going through treatment at the moment and understands the period in which the London women's clinic is closed? I got told December but no specific dates and can't find anything online.

Jessica05 · 24/10/2023 18:51

It’s closed through out the entire December

juliettefreire · 24/10/2023 22:09

Thanks so much Jessica.... that's really disappointing to hear :(

Tillybabs · 24/10/2023 22:32

@juliettefreire hi they are not closed throughout December. I’m currently having treatment and spoke to Croydon to confirm. Croydon will close on the 15 December. The LWC will do their last baseline scan on the 28 November so will potentially do a transfer up until the 19th December or thereabouts. I confirmed this with both clinics last week.

Tillybabs · 24/10/2023 22:38

@juliettefreire sorry I should have added that the LWC called me to confirm dates in December for existing patients.

juliettefreire · 25/10/2023 13:40

Hello, thanks so much for the reply!
Is the baseline scan the scan on day 2 / 6 of the cycle or something else? My CD1 will be 23 Nov so I think I won't be able to do it this year if it's just for existing patients...
