Hi, has anyone had fertility treatment here? What was their experience and success rates? Asking on behalf of a friend who is currently having treatment there for underlining gynaecology issues (fibroids/endometriosis) and she’s been referred here. She’ll be going down the route of donor sperm and possibly donor egg too because of her age (44).

Any feedback from people who have had treatment there would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Same, I was told the same in May. There is a very long waiting list for this.

juliettefreire · 23/09/2022 14:00

Hope everyone is well. Sorry to hear about the long waiting lists... it makes everything so hard.

I had a phone appointment yesterday but no one called and no one ever answers the phone in the centre or returns my requests to get call backs.... very frustrating

Wishing everyone well

Hi all, any success story here?

jigglypuff7722 · 26/10/2022 22:14

Yes me! I did a round here in the summer after 3 unsuccessful transfers and miscarriages at the Lister Hospital. Did a fresh round and now 19 weeks with twins !

Jessica05 · 27/10/2022 03:14

@jigglypuff7722 wowww congratulations.
I’ve heard there’s couple of success stories from the nurses, which is great to hear.
if anyone still having treatment, I would suggest to do it before December as December the clinic is closed.

JeanieJ · 27/10/2022 10:45

@jigglypuff7722 congrats! 🙂
@Jessica05 do you mean the clinic is closed for the month of Dec? Hoping to start ICSI in Jan 🤞🏻

Jessica05 · 27/10/2022 10:49

Yes they don’t do transfer in December at all.

juliettefreire · 27/10/2022 20:07

Congrats @jigglypuff7722! And thank you for sharing too. Give hope to some of us

I didn't know about the centre closing in Dec, so thanks for sharing that too. Sucks cause it will delay my tests and thus treatment, especially as I'm in such early stages still

Jessica05 · 28/10/2022 09:40

@juliettefreire the centre might be open for test but not for transfer, as apparently women London clinic is closed in December that’s y

juliettefreire · 04/11/2022 16:42

Hi all. Had my appointment today and my partner has been prescribed with something to increase his levels and then has to retest
i left and realised I didn't ask how we get the appointment to discuss the result once we have them.... again feeling silly for forgetting such a thing and it's so hard to get through to someone in the fertility centre

Does anyone have any advice?

Jessica05 · 04/11/2022 23:08

@juliettefreire you would need to call the fertility clinic for the results. Try these number, they surely will pick up.
020 8401 3586
020 8401 3983
020 8401 3000 Ext 4574

juliettefreire · 05/11/2022 12:37

Thank you! I find them always take so long to answer but I guess I will just persist

hope everyone is doing well

Jessica05 · 20/11/2022 16:48

Hi All, i hope you are well. How is everyone treatment going on? Any transfer yet?

PJ77 · 21/11/2022 09:53

Hello all... bit of good news to share. We had our 4th transfer with our last embryo a couple of weeks ago and we've had a positive test 🙏 still hasn't sunk in. Early days at the moment but we are thrilled, booked in for an early scan end of next week xx

Redcobra · 21/11/2022 18:50

Hi everyone, congratulations @PJ77 and @jigglypuff7722 Twins! That’s amazing!

I was waiting a bit before sharing good news but I’m currently 13wks pregnant from a fresh transfer following endometriosis excision surgery last year. It was my first time TTC & I was prepared to do a few rounds. I have the team at Croydon & LWC to thank for this.

I stayed positive, meditated, practiced yoga, did acupuncture & took Chinese herbal teas during stims. Also, have been taking Proceive Max Conception for over a year in preparation for TTC after surgery. I’m not sure if all these things helped physically but it definitely kept my mind at ease.

I’m praying we all get good news on our journeys xx

Tillybabs · 21/11/2022 20:08

@Redcobra congratulations! Did you have your excision surgery at Croydon?

I have adenomyosis and was offered surgery for it but opted against it as I don't think it will help. My best way forward is to try and suppress it as much as possible before transfer.

I recently had my first transfer which was unsuccessful. I'm going to have a few months break and try again around April next year.

@PJ77 congrats to you too!

Redcobra · 21/11/2022 23:53

@Tillybabs Yes I had the surgery at Croydon. The gynae consult also works at maternity so I have an appointment with him soon as well. It’s reassuring to know all the teams work closely together.
Fingers crossed for the second transfer xx Are you using frozen embryos? Research shows higher success rates compared to fresh transfers.
They managed to freeze 2 embryos this cycle so I’m hoping to use those in the future.

Redcobra · 22/11/2022 05:52

One more thing - I found that the acupuncture really helped a lot. I felt physically different after the first session and the next day the scan showed my previously tiny egg follicles had grown massively during stims.

At embryo transfer, I mentioned this to the doctor & embryologist and they both recommended that I have another session straight afterwards to help encourage implantation.

If anyone is thinking about it, I’d definitely recommend acupuncture during a cycle.
I hope this is helpful! 😊

jigglypuff7722 · 22/11/2022 07:07

Congratulations @Redcobra and @PJ77 !
I second the point about acupuncture, I also did it directly before and after transfer and in the lead up to this cycle. Could be nothing but I do believe it did help! At the very least it relaxed me in a really stressful time x

PJ77 · 27/11/2022 11:07

Hello all

For those who have had success with IVF at Croydon, what dates have they scanned you? They've scheduled my scan for when I'm 6+2 which feels very early? Was going to call them tomorrow to ask to push back a week as heard you don't usually get to see much that early. But I don't know if they do a very early scan then they might plan a second one a couple of weeks later?

Tillybabs · 27/11/2022 14:16

@Redcobra I have been using acupuncture too. Which one do you visit out of interest? We have 3 frozen embryos left to work with.

I have adenomyosis which is different to endometriosis so surgery doesn't help in the same way. I'm glad it worked for you 😃

jigglypuff7722 · 27/11/2022 17:20

I had a scan at 6+2 and then 8 weeks too then i was discharged xx

PJ77 · 27/11/2022 18:15

Thanks @jigglypuff7722
When you had the scan at 6+2 did you see/ hear the heartbeat? Xx

Redcobra · 28/11/2022 20:49

Hi @Tillybabs - I used Dr Huang Chinese Medicine on London Road. I got my hormone balancing herbal tea from him too - proper old school TCM. It’s great that you got three embryos for the future as well 👏👏

@PJ77 I had 6w and 8w scans before being discharged to maternity. I’d say do the 6w scan - I saw a grey squiggle and the flicker of the heartbeat which was settling for me. I was advised that it might be too early to see a heartbeat though - every pregnancy is different. At 8w you’ll see a bigger embryo with a much clearer heartbeat so good for peace of mind again.
I haven’t had a scan where I hear the heartbeat yet.

Sar1990 · 29/11/2022 21:39

Congratulations to all of you who are now pregnant. I had my FET today and have been told I now need to take Lubion. I am in a rush to get it and have some from Asda but need the needles. Does anyone know if chemists provide these? Many thanks
