everyone,
I've started a new thread for people starting treatment this month. I'm hoping to make some new friends with people who understand how hard this journey is. Hopefully we can have some fun whilst getting on with the treatment.
This is my first cycle of ivf/icsi so any treatment buddies please say hello.

@facevalue you're such a sweetheart. No, I've been testing with first response. This is quite a heavy, period bleed. Tested again this evening and although it's a bit lighter than this morning it's not by much. Do you think it's strange to get your period and darkening lines? First time I came across it...I hope you are well?

facevalue · 03/10/2019 20:22

@maggie272 i wish i knew the answer! all i know is don't test until OTD for this exact reason, you can't make any positive or negative conclusions from it. please please please have a test on test day if still positive call the clinic and pay the HCG blood test . then they will repeat it after a few days if it's going up then u r pregnant and u will need to have scan at 6-8 weeks x carry on with the pessaries ...

there's something called chemical pregnancy when the test looks positive then you bleed and no sack / embryo on a scan 😢😢😢😢

i wish i can make it better x

glad u have a loving husband who can give you comfort and hugs ... just try not think about it until test day. i don't want to repeat the same stories - said b4 my sister had ivf . got a full flow period before test day so never tested as was convinced it was over .. went on holiday and when she came back she contacted a new clinic to start again- the dr there refused to proceed b4 she has a pregnancy test - yep that came back positive and my nephew is now 4 years old.

i hope it's the same outcome for u x fingers crossed / virtual hug

Maggie272 · 03/10/2019 20:25

@facevaule jeepers. better put the glass of wine back in that case! What a wonderful story : ) I hope you are in good form too xx

Maggie272 · 03/10/2019 20:25

sorry, should be @facevalue, above xx

facevalue · 03/10/2019 20:30

@maggie272 i'm lucky i guess. mine is staying put for now . we saw the heart beating yesterday but we r holding our breaths until a 12 week scan. nausea etc ... i feel mean moaning about it here so x let's just focus on you keeping busy for the next few days - step away from the wine for now x have a good cry and cuddle up with you hubby for comfort x not over until the fat lady sings x

Maggie272 · 04/10/2019 08:09

So ours has definitely ended in a chemical pregnancy. We are disappointed of course but we're fine. Hope everyone is doing well xxx

facevalue · 04/10/2019 08:52

@maggie272 oh no .. what happened? did u test again? is it test day today? i'm so so sorry

Maggie272 · 04/10/2019 08:59

@facevalue yes today was test day, did a hpt this morning and the line is half the strength it was yesterday and I have a very painful period. We'll go again with the frozen embryos but I'm not going to get my hopes up for that either. I think being realistic this month saved me from the pain of disappointment!

facevalue · 04/10/2019 09:07

@maggie272 i'm so so sorry x my heart aches for you x be kind to your selves xxxx lots of love 😢😢😢😢 it's ok be angry sad and cry x

drminion · 04/10/2019 10:46

thanks for your kind words ladies! I'll be testing again on the OTD (Tuesday) but if I'm honest having had the shock of a negative and realising it's not the end of the world has lifted a big weights from my shoulders. Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy @Maggie272, have a glass of wine, take it easy on yourself, you've put a lot of strain in your body and mind so take time to recover. Great to hear that things are going forward @facevalue! So happy for you!!!!

Alon789 · 04/10/2019 18:14

Hi ladies,

So today is day 10 after the embryo transfer (fresh 1 blastocyst on day 5) and I am definitely feeling a lot of the symptoms described online (sensitive breast, nausea, stretch feeling in my lower stomach, sleepy). Today I had a white discharge and some strong dizziness - but none of the other symptoms - which makes me a bit nervous :/

I bought today a pregnancy test and I am thinking of doing it on Sunday (day 12)...or should I wait for Tuesday? (day 14) just to make sure and have a definitive answer?

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Sabelaa · 04/10/2019 22:20

Hi Ladies... sorry I been hiding it's been a tough few weeks waiting for my scan as I lost my first nearly 2 wks after BFP. I also havent been getting post alerts.

So I had my scan yesterday and we saw the heart beat. To the ladies that are waiting or in the process I hope u get ur BFPs. To the others who have ended in MC/chemical/bfn I am sorry. This was my 3rd ivf and after my 2nd was told I should consider donor eggs instead which devastated me but here we are 8wks with heartbeat (own eggs). It's hard to be fully excited or happy given the rocky road we go through but there is light at end of tunnel. Keeping fingers crossed for everyone xx

Stacey2007 · 04/10/2019 22:55

How did everyone feel the day after egg collection? I’m wondering if it’s worth booking the next day off work?

facevalue · 05/10/2019 08:10

@Alon789 always day 14.

@Sabelaa you lost your first? congratulations on the scan and heartbeat. i saw mine a day before you - i'm 8 weeks today! i'm so fed up of the pessaries but the clinic insist must continue until 12 week scan. how are you otherwise ? i'm so nauseous and sore boobs for sure

@Stacey2007 you get sedation with egg collection so it says on the form 24/48 after can't sign any documents or drive and have to have someone with you so i took the day off. i think it would be good to be off if u can xxx fingers crossed

shazzz1xx · 05/10/2019 10:22

Hi
I had IVF ( ICSI ) due to male fertility (really low/poor sperm)

my first cycle last year resulted in 5 eggs only 1 fertilised.. transferred that one 3days after and it was successful but we miscarriaged at 10 weeks.. no eggs left so had to start another cycle 2month after my miscarriage and it cost £5000 we got the same outcome at egg collection only 5 eggs retrieved and only 1 fertilised.. so we transferred it again 3 days after and ive just had my baby girl... she is 10 week old 🥰 July 2019... don’t give up.. Good luck for the future ❤️

Stacey2007 · 05/10/2019 18:21

I will do thankyou. I’ve got my egg collection on Monday. I’m so scared about it 😮 x

shazzz1xx · 06/10/2019 11:08

Stacey I’ve had 2 egg collections... close together too and im a wimp but it’s nothing.. you don’t feel anything and I was home for 12 dinner and went in at 9am.. the worse thing for me is having the canular in the hand in the vein... good luck

facevalue · 06/10/2019 16:56

@Stacey2007 that's exciting. hope your trigger injection was ok.. enjoy two days without injections... it's really the easiest part because you are asleep x

hope they get many mature eggs xxx all the best

Stacey2007 · 06/10/2019 18:02

Thanoyou I hope it’s as easy as your all making it sound 😁😁 trigger injection was fine but how did everyone feel after it? I’m a little crampy today. Like period pains ish x

shazzz1xx · 06/10/2019 18:12

I never felt a thing afterwards :) it’s amazing what you and your body can take
🍀

shazzz1xx · 06/10/2019 18:14

Let us know how you feel and get on tomorrow.. I bet your on hear tomorrow night thinking why did i feel worried..

Sabelaa · 06/10/2019 19:47

@facevalue huge congrats so glad for u that it's good news what a wait it has been. Sorry for the confusion meant I miscarried my first early on. My clinic only tell u take the pessaries up to 7 to 8 weeks but if it's a frozen cycle then yes till 12wks. Mine was a fresh one so they told me up to me if use up what's left or stop. So I thought will finish what I have. Sick of them can't wait to finish. Same as u very very sore boobs and nausea but thankfully no sickness gets better everytime I eat but worried I am gonna pile pounds early on just coz I don't to increase risk of gestation diabetes etc. Don't know if ur like me but I am struggling to let myself be fully excited about it.

@Stacey2007 good luck for tmrw... probably too late now but I definitely needed the next day off and I have been through it 3 times.

facevalue · 06/10/2019 20:32

@sabelaa it's a fresh cycle for me and it's my 5th- first time i get told continue pessaries until 12 weeks! i haven't collected the prescription i'm not convinced it makes a difference! i think i will be more relaxed after 12 weeks scan. i can't let myself believe it yet. i'm miserable which sounds awfully ungrateful - the nausea / unable to control body temp/ irritability/ tiredness and all foods tastes disgusting 🤢🤢🤢 I'd like to survive this part of it x

Vilanelle · 07/10/2019 10:41

Hi
How is everyone doing? I am so ready for my scan, I hate this wait.

I am concerned as apparently I am 5 weeks pregnant however most symptoms have gone. Just sore boobs now.

Still getting strong test lines on pregnancy test though. I need to come off the fertility groups on FB as they are convincing me I am having an ectopic pregnancy!

I need to calm down

shazzz1xx · 07/10/2019 11:05

Don’t panic.. I was the same, didn’t even feel pregnant really apart from morning sickness from week 6 till I gave birth.. I was always saying something is wrong but it wasn’t... x
