Lil221 · 16/08/2019 15:32

everyone,
I've started a new thread for people starting treatment this month. I'm hoping to make some new friends with people who understand how hard this journey is. Hopefully we can have some fun whilst getting on with the treatment.
This is my first cycle of ivf/icsi so any treatment buddies please say hello.
Lil x

Hi all, I'm on day 4 now and getting used to the injections.
What does everyone think about exercise? I normally run with colleagues so would like to continue even if its just this week, or I might not do anything for a month which looks suspicious. Clinic said no high intensity but I'm not sure if a jog is ok!?

@Onisa7 How is adding the 2nd injection? You've prompted me to look when I add mine, sooner than I thought so thanks!

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted I'm short protocol too, hope the wait isn't too bad I was itching to get started!

@IvfBeenWaiting good luck with the scan! Let us know how it goes?

@Mostunexpected so sorry to hear about your previous miscarriage, I can see why you'd do anything to avoid that. How many frozen embryos do you have?

LillyLeaf · 19/08/2019 11:13

@Mostunexpected I recently had my frozen embryos tested as I had 2 miscarriages from our first 2 transfers. They all thawed fine but were all abnormal, so I'll be pgs testing again this cycle. Terrified of them all being abnormal again but we'll see. Fore it's been worth it as I could have transferred the last 3 and had another 3 miscarriages.

I have my nurses appointment today to discuss protocol & drugs and hopefully AF was will arrive wed/Thursday this week.

Mostunexpected · 19/08/2019 11:33

Thanks @parkandride. I have 5 embryos still and am hugely lucky that we have a daughter from our first transfer.
Sorry to hear about your miscarriages @lillyleaf. I can see why you'd want the rest tested. But given that my only transfer worked well and my natural pregnancy didn't, there's not a huge reason to suspect that my embryos would have issues. But then again I could have been lucky with my daughter and she was the one good one out of 6! And as each FET is £5200 if we could avoid putting back a chromosomally abnormal one it would be worth it financially as well. But then I might be the person for who thawing and refreezing damages all the embryos. Aaargh can you tell I'm the most indecisive person in the world?!

Onisa7 · 19/08/2019 15:25

@Parkandride the 2nd injection was ok in terms of pain but I started to feel the effects after a few hours. Headache and my ovaries are really swollen now for not being able to release the eggs. It's really weird because you can really feel them moving inside there. Hopefully not long to go as I have appointment wed and possible egg collection on Friday (🤞).

I don't even think I have words for anyone who miscarriages but stay strong and keep your hope high.

LillyLeaf · 20/08/2019 12:17

Meds are ordered and will arrive tomorrow, now I just need AF to start.

Lil221 · 20/08/2019 16:19

Hey everyone, I added the 2nd injection of fyremadel today and I can already feel it. First day ive felt really sore and lethargic. And wow that jab has got some bite to it! Feeling quiet emotional and anxious and I'm only on day 4!!! Any one else feel this way x

Parkandride · 20/08/2019 17:47

I'm nuts today @Lil221 so teary and anxious, had a bit of a cry in the work toilets which is not like me at all Sad sure it's perfectly normal. When do you have your first scan?

Lil221 · 20/08/2019 17:52

@parkandride I literally feel like I've been hit by a bus and I'm so exhausted! My first scan is on friday. Just worried about this feeling staying as I have another 6 days of injections left! I hope you felt better after your work cry!! 😁

Onisa7 · 21/08/2019 07:14

@Lil221I know, you can definitely feel it after. But I hope the symptoms get better for you. They did for me. Made me panic a bit yesterday because I wasn't as uncomfortable but I'm sure everything is fine. Will know today so not long to wait.

@Parkandride everyone is different and these drugs can affect you in so many different ways. I've been ok so far but who knows when it will hit me. Don't beat yourself too hard. I have my scan today to see the size of the follicles

@LillyLeaf fingers crossed it comes soon.

LillyLeaf · 21/08/2019 18:05

@parkandride & @Lil221I sorry you're both are feeling so rough, hopefully it will settle down a bit once you get used to the meds. I started at so have my baseline scan tomorrow, it feels real now.... Bring on those injections.

Onisa7 · 22/08/2019 08:45

@LillyLeaf they're not that bad...a little sting and it's done. I use ice for 5 min just to numb the area a bit. You got this Smile

Parkandride · 22/08/2019 09:15

Had my day 7 scan, not as many follicles as I hoped but I know it's early days. 1 giant one that's a lost cause, 10 small but 4 of those are less than 10mm so not sure if they'll get there?
Good lining though apparently so that's nice to hear Smile not that it matters as all will be frozen.

Pessaries started last night so everything's in full swing now and my doses are to stay the same. Next scan on Sunday

How was your baseline @LillyLeaf?

LillyLeaf · 22/08/2019 10:59

I had my baseline scan, I have to go back tomorrow for another one as my lining was not thin enough, this always happens. They'll let me know later today if I can injections tonight or tomorrow. I'll be doing a freeze all so I didn't think they would be bothered about my lining.

Lil221 · 23/08/2019 14:34

Hey everyone so I had my scan this morning and I'm booked in for Monday morning for collection. I've got 10 follicles over 10mm and 4 are 17mm and 18mm. I've got about 9 that are 10mm and under. Do this sound like good odds. Thanks

@Lil221 that's so exciting that your EC will be Monday. It's probably best not to focus too much on the follicle numbers as they don't necessarily means eggs. But it looks like they'll be plenty.

I had another scan today and have been given the go ahead to start Buserelin tonight, then stims tomorrow night. I really thought they were going to cancel the cycle, so pleased I can continue.

Onisa7 · 23/08/2019 20:36

@Lil221 good luck for Monday. Let us know how you got on. I'll be thinking of you

@LillyLeaf its great news that you're starting as well. I'm glad that they didn't cancel it.

@Parkandride we always wish to see more and more but those are good numbers. Keep the spirits high

I had my scan today and have egg collection booked for Tuesday so triggering on Sunday...finally! So I'm gonna try to enjoy the bank holiday in London (while everyone else is away) and be ready for the big day.

facevalue · 24/08/2019 01:40

@Lil221 good luck for monday

mine is sunday and i am feeling very anxious indeed and can't sleep

facevalue · 24/08/2019 01:41

@Onisa7 i hope you have a lovely time in london and goodluck next week x

Parkandride · 24/08/2019 10:32

Oh wow it's all happening @Lil221 and @Onisa7 enjoy your weekends ahead of triggering, do you get a little break from jabbing inbetween trigger and collection?

Lil221 · 24/08/2019 10:37

@parkandride I've taken meriofert and fyremadel this morning and other than the trigger shot I'm all done! I'm so glad as my stomach is now really tender! I'm going to Silverstone this weekend to watch motogp so I'm keeping busy until collection.

Who is else is waiting on collection now? x

OP posts:
Onisa7 · 24/08/2019 10:45

@facevalue Thank you Wink

@Parkandride last injection will be tomorrow evening (trigger shot) and then nothing on Monday....uffff a day off finally.

It's so interesting to hear about everyone's journey and how each one of those is so different. It has actually helped to calm myself as I realized that actually it isn't a "once size fits all" approach and they match medication, timings, etc to each case. Thank you for your words ladies.

On my way to a National Park to enjoy the weather and chillax now.

Parkandride · 24/08/2019 13:04

You're right @Onisa7 gives hope that it's all so personalised. Though must admit I had a stressy moment as Lil and I started on the same day and feels like I'm a while off triggering, was then worrying if they tell me to trigger tomorrow has DH had the right number of days of abstinence. So many worries!

Onisa7 · 24/08/2019 19:16

@Parkandride, I know the feeling but they say 2 days minimum right so maybe he just needs to keep the 2 day gap all the time....just in case they tell you to trigger last minute. Are you still going for another scan soon?

Parkandride · 24/08/2019 19:20

True! Yup scan tomorrow, feel less sore today which also makes me worry! God I'm sick of fretting. Just had the first pregnancy announcement since starting this process, I'm really never bothered about these things and I'm always happy for those involved but it does remind you of your less ideal situation Sad

LillyLeaf · 24/08/2019 20:44

Hope you're all getting on ok. So many of you are so close to EC. I've only just started my stims tonight, I'm on a higher dose than last time so I'm a bit nervous of the side effects, although I was fine last time. I had forgotten how itching my stomach is after Buserelin, it drives me mad. My first scan will be wednesday. I'm also doing acupuncture which is nice.
