Tell me about it @zest11, the clear blue test is all over the place. Yesterday said high, today low so I have no idea what is happening! Will go and buy some cheap ones today/tomorrow

Ginandtonic31 · 09/08/2019 08:19

What the hell can I do about dreams?! I haven't slept a full night in ages due to dreams! They're so annoying and vivid and last night I even got up in the night for a wee. I never do that! The dreams are just driving me nuts though.

CornishMaid1 · 09/08/2019 09:11

@Ginandtonic31 Haha. Can't help with the dreams, but the night time wees are just such a pleasure - two weeks of them so far and I am absolutely knackered! Hate to think what will happen when there is a massive bump weighing down.

@Welshpugmomma That is terrible, but glad you got a last minute appointment. They were so wrong to tell you 16 weeks. My DSis had that with her pregnancy. There was a mess up (I think the doctor forgot to refer her to the midwife), so by the time they actually sorted it they couldn't get her in for a scan at 12 weeks and her first was about 16, but the combined screening test can only be done up to about 13 weeks, so she couldn't then have the screening test as they couldn't fit her in.

Welshpugmomma · 09/08/2019 11:06

@zest11 and @mrbay I remember the pain of having to track every day :( I did that for 2 years too, the natural cycle sounds nicer in the fact that it's less drugs good luck to you both , zest you should mention to your consultant your not keen on the gel and maybe they'll try the pessaries instead (if I'm right in thinking that was instead of)

@CornishMaid1 yeah I feel so relieved I managed to get it booked in as I was away most of next week too , it is a bit ridiculous that they can't seem to manage a set timeline of events I ended up going to a birthing centre seemed very nice there all a bit surreal thankfully I didn't witness anything too frightening haha I'm such a wuss about anything hospital!

Cauliflower82 · 09/08/2019 12:18

Hmm... I don’t know what I’ll do about the harmony test. I’d never really given it a second thought. I’m feeling way out of my depth at the minute. The morning sickness isn’t helping, it’s all day every day and I’m up at least four or five times a night going to the toilet. I don’t want to moan, especially not on this board, I think I just need a good sleep and some good home cooked food I can stomach.

Ginandtonic31 · 09/08/2019 12:25

@Welshpugmomma they've needed up putting an 'emergency' midwife clinic in tomorrow at the hospital. I don't know if it's just for me or others too 😂

Ginandtonic31 · 09/08/2019 15:15

Just done some research and definitely going to go for the NHS tests first and see how they come out as some NHS providers now offer NIPT as well if it comes back high risk. Seems sensible for to wait and see if they can see on the scan etc. Then if I don't feel satisfied go down the route of a blood test.

More info about it for any of you others who were thinking of waiting www.nct.org.uk/pregnancy/tests-scans-and-antenatal-checks/downs-syndrome-testing-and-what-you-need-know-pregnancy

KittyKatSmile · 09/08/2019 15:39

They can see the back of the neck thing on the scan but only before a certain time. Then the blood tests give you a risk area for Down, Edwards and Patau syndromes. Just in another waiting cycle for my test results now Grin

Saw Cutie on the scan again this morning. Moving around a lot and putting its hand over its face. Quite incredible.

Ginandtonic31 · 09/08/2019 16:23

@KittyKatSmile yeah they can only see that to 14 weeks but we get that on the NHS anyway. And then the NIPT blood is any time so if the scan at 12 weeks shows it's a risk some NHS providers will do a free NIPT. Otherwise we can just pay for that bit privately. Once I've had the scan and they've checked the neck and worked out the risk I will see how I feel in trusting them 😂

Zest11 · 10/08/2019 07:33

@Mrbay arghh noo...do you need to track ovulation for a natural FET? I didn't bother this month but could tell based on cm. I see my consultant this week so will find out our plan then.

@Welshpugmomma yes I will tell them it was horrid. I think I will ask for injections if that's possible, not sure I like the idea of putting something up my bum! I need to write down a whole list of things to ask!

Welshpugmomma · 10/08/2019 07:38

@zest11 I'm part of the front fwff club and it's been manageable the only thing is the X3 times a day :0 the afternoon one I hate, still going with them for another 3 weeks too I can't wait to ditch the panty liners,,, might be a party opportunity in itself 😉

Ginandtonic31 · 10/08/2019 09:22

@Zest11 they really aren't that bad up the bum I promise! One week to go then o can move to one a day, then after a week one every other day and then I'm done!!

KittyKatSmile · 10/08/2019 09:56

@Ginandtonic31 you've given me hope I can start tapering. I thought I was cold turkey at 12. They're really not that bad @Zest11. Also on your natural cycle question, I don't know if it's you that tracks ovulation, but someone will be! I believe they either scan you or take your bloods so they can put it back in at the time implantation is most likely to happen.

Happy weekend everyone. I had the worst night ever last night. Was up at 2am and again from 3-4.30am. Pretty much feel jet lagged now! Getting through my latest book at a good rate though!

@KittyKatSmile I was dreaming all night again! One of which I dtd with my school crush (as an adult! He wasn't still 15) and god it was good Blush

Ginandtonic31 · 10/08/2019 12:35

@KittyKatSmile have they not told you to wean? Next Friday I can wean pessaries and eostrogen. Woo.

Had midwife appointment this morning. I feel so self conscious when they ask my DH DOB and things. Feel like they're laughing at me. Also was dreading getting weighed 😫 and apparently because I'm going out of area for scans and birth i will have to go through t all again with their antenatal team! And they did conform I will be consultant led.

KittyKatSmile · 10/08/2019 12:56

@Ginandtonic31 I've come off the oestrogen already but think I stop the progesterone and clexane cold turkey. Steroids I'll wean very gradually. I've noticed the bloating has gone down already. It was at its worst 8-9 weeks. One of my gay friends last night was teasing me about how fat and hairy my face is. He kept saying 'I'm jooooooking' and thinking it was hilarious but I don't think he understands how much it actually upsets me. It is all true. I pointed out it's only really funny when you take the piss out of people for things that aren't actually true...

@KittyKatSmile ah that's mean. Does he know? It's like someone at work always takes the mick out of my double chins now and takes photos of me and it upsets me. Unfortunately I don't think I'm bloated. Just fat! I've gained at least a stone in the last year!!

KittyKatSmile · 10/08/2019 18:15

@Ginandtonic31 oh yes! He knows! He's usually absolutely lovely about it all and really supportive. I got weighed at the scan yesterday. It wasn't pretty! But I'll be interested to see if it goes down post cold turkey!

Welshpugmomma · 11/08/2019 11:01

@KittyKatSmile me too on the cold turkey front which is annoying but hey we can master anything now :) I'm away for a few days this week which will be nice and I get back and have another scan woop...

Friends just don't get it sometimes hey, I'm sure they think your on side as I've Keith has got a wicked humour ;) probs just crossed the line.. I went to a family wedding and was sent a photos today chins galore, not sure where they've crept up from!

Hope your all doing well girlies x

AliciaWhiskers · 12/08/2019 10:37

Morning all!

Had our follow up appointment this morning. We have 1 frozen blast - clinic have suggested a long protocol FET. Does this sound normal? If we went with my next period (due on Friday), ET would be on 5th October! That feels so far away!

Ginandtonic31 · 12/08/2019 10:39

Hi @AliciaWhiskers I think I was on a long one too. I didn't enjoy it! What was your last?

I was injecting for 6 weeks in prep.

AliciaWhiskers · 12/08/2019 11:07

@Ginandtonic31 our last one was a short protocol. Not much looking forward to the thought of 6 weeks of injections...(plus another 12 if I get pregnant...)

Does anyone know about natural FET cycles?

Ginandtonic31 · 12/08/2019 11:50

@AliciaWhiskers I didn't have to inject once pregnant. I stopped about a week before transfer. If I had to do it again I would ask about natural. But then again long protocol worked really well so I don't know! I just felt awful. But a lot of that was down to my own head I think.

AliciaWhiskers · 12/08/2019 12:28

@Ginandtonic31 thanks for that. She said that with the long protocol it would be buserilin, then oestrogen, then progesterone both injections and pessaries until 12 weeks (assuming pregnancy). WAY more than the short protocol, which seems a walk in the park now!

Not sure about the natural cycle. I've got PCOS and although my cycles are regular, my LH and FSH levels are raised, and I don't know if that would have any effect on a natural cycle...

In what way did you feel awful on the long protocol?
