IVF March/April

Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

Scan went well. 22 follicles, 13 over 10mm. Bemfola dose halved, another scan Friday and then EC planned for Monday. Eek!

DaisyMay25 · 13/03/2019 16:32

@Twiglet2353 look at those numbers 😍 good luck for Monday!

Hopingforbabyd · 13/03/2019 16:37

@twiglet2353 that’s fantastic!!! I bet you’re over the moon 😍

Thanks @Hopingforbabyd @DaisyMay25, I'm very happy that it's working, but also a little scared of OHSS 🙈

WhatWouldPennyDo · 13/03/2019 17:07

How exciting @Twiglet2353! Fingers firmly crossed for you.

I know my numbers won’t be that good (low AFC/AMH)

Wesstywoo · 13/03/2019 17:08

Glad your scans went well today ladies! Fab numbers @Twiglet2353! My baseline isn't until 26th which seems aaaaaaaages away

Twiglet2353 · 13/03/2019 17:11

Thank you so much @Wesstywoo @WhatWouldPennyDo. We'll see what Friday brings.

Now the small aspect of telling my boss I'm going to be off for two weeks. Any tips???

Wesstywoo · 13/03/2019 17:13

Hi @WhatWouldPennyDo I also have low AMH and was on high dose menopur for my fresh back in December - you could be surprised and do better than they predict xx

Wesstywoo · 13/03/2019 17:14

@Twiglet2353 I took a week off (as holiday) as I didn't want to tell them. I'm taking a mixture of appointments and holiday for my FET

WhatWouldPennyDo · 13/03/2019 17:35

Thanks @Wesstywoo! Will keep my fingers crossed, but also try to be realistic. Rollercoaster!

Twiglet - I’m taking holiday for EC and ET, with working from home around scans.

Hopingforbabyd · 13/03/2019 18:31

@twiglet2353 does your boss know about your cycle? I gave my boss a heads up from Mr M saying about having two weeks off and she was surprisingly really understanding I’ve been dreading it but I guess it’s best to put them in the picture. This is your time now 😘 x

I have two bosses for two separate job roles. One already knew we were going through it and will tell them tomorrow that I'm going to be going off. The other one is for a secondment I've only just recently started, and we've just spoken and feel much better now they know.
Horrible when you don't want to let anyone down but also want to give this your best shot xx

Hopingforbabyd · 13/03/2019 19:12

Definitely with you on that one @twiglet2353 that just shows how hard working you are. Did Mr M encourage to have it off? Definitely worth it so you can relax and take your mind off any stresses with work xx

Do any clinics do ETs on a weekend? Just thinking if we get to the point of transfer, Day 3 would be a Friday but Day 5 a Sunday. I'm guessing they wouldn't push it to Day 6 unless necessary?
I'm a bit clueless really x

DaisyMay25 · 13/03/2019 19:58

@Twiglet2353 I've been completely upfront with my work about everything, they work around me. I've taken three weeks off for EC, ET and tww, it's mine and DHs birthdays in that time too but I get quite stressed at work so thought I'd give myself a break.

@Wesstywoo that'll come round quickly though! It all seems to be flying by!

I'm just counting down til the 28th now to start stims

@Hopingforbabyd you got a date for your appointment yet?

WhatWouldPennyDo · 13/03/2019 19:58

Ours do on a Saturday, but not a Sunday.

Thund4rcat · 13/03/2019 19:58

@Twiglet2353 yes they do transfers on weekends. My previous one was on a Sunday I think.

Twiglet2353 · 13/03/2019 20:00

Thanks @Thund4rcat @WhatWouldPennyDo @DaisyMay25, will see what they say Friday

AliceAbsolum · 13/03/2019 20:19

I had a blood test today so they can MRI my cyst so they can see if ivf can start ASAP.
Hopefully it will be April for me.
I'm reading along.

Twiglet2353 · 13/03/2019 20:35

@AliceAbsolum ah fingers crossed for you lovely 🤞

Hopingforbabyd · 13/03/2019 20:52

@daisymay25 not just yet, I’ve had a letter through saying to ring them on first day of my cycle which is due this weekend and to order my prescription for norethisterone which I’ll start on cd21. They’ll send my appointment out soon as I’ve rang them. Excited to get started and join you ladies x

Wesstywoo · 14/03/2019 07:51

@Hopingforbabyd fingers crossed AF turns up for you this weekend!

I'm on day 3 of norethisterone and it's making me feel a bit grumpy (poor DH!), only have to take it for 8 days this time so almost half way!

Hopingforbabyd · 14/03/2019 09:53

Thanks @wesstywoo it has felt like such a long time coming but we’re getting there. First time I’ve ever wished for AF to arrive 😄

@AliceAbsolum crossing my fingers for you for April I’m starting in April too 😁 these ladies have been so helpful along the way, I’ve gotten more advice and tips from making this thread than I have in the years I’ve been googling away haha.
Keep us updated with how you get on & best of luck x

@Boogie20 how did you get on finding a clinic? Hope you were able to find one that you liked x

Boogie20 · 14/03/2019 10:55

Thanks for asking!
We are going to see one more next week but I think we may have made a decision. City Fertility in London.

How have people found telling bosses? I’m teacher so it’s very difficult to make appointments that I can get to sometimes. I don’t think I’ll be able to get around telling my boss. Would rather not though.
