Oh holly I really hope you're okay!
Our time
Is coming ladies I can feel it!
Don't give up hope stay focused and positive and not be to hard on our selfs I think is the key!!

intrigued2018 · 09/01/2018 14:23

Try not to feel deflated Holly - a million times easier said than done! Hopefully you get some positive news soon x

SLady · 09/01/2018 14:30

Those results are to be expected holly, at least they can get you on a treatment path now you know why its not happening. Keep positive x

HollyWollyDooDah · 09/01/2018 22:01

What are the treatment options?
Consultant has already said no to metformin and I have to lose weight to see if my tubes are ok x

SLady · 09/01/2018 22:44

Clomid on three different doses, injectables, surgery, ivf were my options. The majority of people ovulate on Clomid and that's what they try first. Most clinics want your bmi to be in a normal range first before treatment. I'm not on metformin either

Sunny1984 · 09/01/2018 23:01

Thanks again SLady and thank you intrigued!! Still in utter disbelief!

Holly what dose are you on?

SLady, I really just felt like I had period cramps. I was so miserable New Years Day as I was convinced I was coming on and every other day last week until Friday. Even now I still feel like I have full period cramps!
The only thing was sore boobs but I’ve had those the last few months because of the progesterone. I’m keeping everything crossed for you.

HollyWollyDooDah · 09/01/2018 23:05

The only medication I'm on is 5mg of folic acid xx

Sunny1984 · 09/01/2018 23:24

Sorry Holly I’m being dense I thought you had started Clomid already!

SLady · 10/01/2018 09:56

I know I bet you can't believe it sunny such good news, it's lifted my spirits. You're going to have to stay in touch!

I'm CD32 today eek. I picked up two more rounds of clomid yesterday and I reckon that's all they are going to give me (that will be 8 rounds in total, ovulating for 4 rounds) how many rounds did you have in the end sunny? Hopefully if it doesnt happen this month it will in the next couple. Least I'm ovulating now which is half the battle!!

Sunny1984 · 10/01/2018 22:36

CD 32 is very exciting SLady any sign of AF?
In the end I had 7 cycles. I’m not going anywhere I want to see you all get your BFPs!

OP posts:
Alicejj8x · 11/01/2018 06:33

I start
On Clomid in Feb I think they are putting me onto
It whilst I
Am
Still
On metformin does this sound right?

I really hope I can
Get my BFP after trying for nearly 2 years with 1
Miscarriage I can't wait to see that BFP!
I've also heard metformin helps reduce the risk of miscarriage is this correct? My GP ( fertility doctor ) told me when she prescribed me the metformin

SLady · 11/01/2018 08:54

No sign yet sunny I've felt a bit crampy but nothing major and my nipples are really sensitive but other than that nothing to report. Think I'm going to test on Saturday. Trying not to get my hopes up too much but it's hard 😬

That all sounds right alice

Sunny1984 · 11/01/2018 15:28

SLady Keeping everything crossed for you! Will be waiting tentatively on Saturday 😬

It’s so difficult not to get your hopes up by holding out until CD 34 should give you a definite answer! Have you got tests ready?!

Yes Alice that sounds right I started Metformin in the January then Clomid in May.

Alicejj8x · 11/01/2018 15:42

Ahh thank you :)
Wel fingers crossed it works

Has anyone got pregnant on metformin alone?

littleemma1 · 11/01/2018 21:16

Hi all. Can I jump back in here please?
I was on a previous one at some point but took some time away... nice to see some familiar names though and some BFP’s 😊
Update: I have now officially been diagnosed with PCOS via an internal scan and am awaiting a follow up appointment with the gynae, meant to be this month but NHS appointments are nil and void atm apparently 🙄

I was tried on Metformin for 3 months, 2 a day, but it made no difference 😩
I have absolutely no cycle, have no idea when/if I ovulate, I’m currently Day 85 and still no sign of AF.
Now officially TTC, have been for around 9m (there’s irony in there!) and obviously no luck. Not sure what the next steps will be?

One thing I’d like to ask you girls, how many of you suffer with pain because of your PCOS? Mine gets to a point, from around day 50/60, where it can be completely debilitating. I have to take codeine on a daily basis to manage the pain 😢
Please tell me I’m not alone in that!

Looking forward to making some new friends on here and hearing some good news xx

SLady · 12/01/2018 09:46

Thanks sunny I very nearly tested this morning but I resisted. Whatever the result will be nicer to know at the weekend so I can process it, so just going to hold on until tomorrow. My tests are at the ready! If I'm not then my body has been very cruel holding out like this! CD34 today! How are you feeling sunny?

Welcome back littleemma if you've had your blood tests and your OH has had his sperm analysis then Clomid should be your next step especially if you've already tried metformin. I've never had any pain with my pcos before, I would mention at your next appointment

littleemma1 · 12/01/2018 10:07

I have had blood tests done but only one and it was a totally random day 🤔
Am I right in thinking it needs to be CD3 and CD21 and then every 7 days on to check for ovulation?
OH hasn’t had his sperm analysis done. We’ve only had one appointment at the gynae which was August and then a follow internal ultrasound which confirmed the PCOS, waiting for next appointment coming through. Still a lot of stages to go through then I’m guessing?
Pain and no period is what started this whole thing off for me 😩

Keeping everything crossed for a BFP for you at the weekend 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Sunny1984 · 12/01/2018 10:09

Well done for resisting ☺️ SLady, I’m really hopeful it’s going to be good news tomorrow.

I’m not great today had some really bad pains last night and then was stupid and did another digital test to see if the weeks had increased, they hadn’t so I’ve had a little meltdown. Luckily I had a consultant appt already booked this morning for a follow up. I didn’t see the Consultant but a lovely registrar who tried to reassure me but is doing urgent bloods and I have a scan booked for Monday. Keeping everything crossed it’s ok 🙏🏻

SLady · 12/01/2018 10:43

Littleemma thank you! I had a CD2-CD5 blood test and a CD21 blood test, chylamida test, rubella had to be in date (which it already was), ultrasound and partner had a SA. I booked all those through my gp then when I went to my referral appt they'd all been done so I was prescribed Clomid at the first appt. My tests were done really quickly it was the waiting for a consultant appt that took the time. I was referred to a fertility clinic at my hospital

Thank you sunny
Oh im sorry to hear that, im sure everything is going to be fine. Cramps are fairly normal at this stage right? That's good you have a scan booked for Monday though to put your mind at rest. When will you get your bloods? I'm sure it will all be ok. Try not to stress and worry too much lovely. Just try to think that worrying wont change anything so try your best to relax and take it easy over the weekend Flowers

littleemma1 · 12/01/2018 10:57

Aw @sunny I think the digital tests only go up to a certain number of weeks don’t they?
Keeping everything crossed for you though 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I do know a lot of pg women who’ve had bad cramping during their first 12 weeks and they’ve all been fine, some even had heavy spotting, I think it’s normal just no one tells you about it!

@slady I wonder if the process changes depending on your area?
Although I know I’m clean I think I’ll be mortified if they ask me to do a chlamydia test, it’s just the though/sound of it! 🙈
Not sure how I’ll have my blood tests done as I have no periods so I guess it’ll just be playing the waiting game? Unless I ask for nortiersone again, but does that actually “reset” your cycle? I always see it as a false period in a way xx

SLady · 12/01/2018 11:37

Yes my friend has bad spotting during her first 3 months and she was totally fine too. It's scary but I think more common than we know about. Fingers and everything crossed 🤞😘

Haha i know littleemma 🙈 they gave me a self swab test so I just did it at home and posted it so it wasn't too mortifying. It definitely changes with area although I think most people on here have had those same tests? I had such irregular cycles too so I took norethisterone in the end and then guessed when my cd21 would be. I think nore must reset the cycle as I used to take that when I was taking the lower does of Clomid which didn't work every month before I started again

Sunny1984 · 12/01/2018 13:39

Thank you my loves. I was just worried as it was sharp stabbing pains and just on my left side. Will let you know once I’ve got the blood results so that might have a bit of a better idea of what’s going on.

Littleemma I had provera to bring on a bleed then they did the bloods.

Alicejj8x · 12/01/2018 14:03

Sunny I hope everything is okay keep us updated please everything crossed for you

I would say them tests are normal I had all the tests and the chlamydia one I had to do in the hospital!! All back normal as were my bloods!!
Then I had my ultrasound which confirmed pcos then got put on metformin that day and then middle of Feb I'm calling fertility clinic back for my Clomid! Xx

SLady · 12/01/2018 14:05

Yes keep us updated sunny Flowers

Sunny1984 · 12/01/2018 19:06

So I got the results and the HCG levels seem high which I think is good, although the person I spoke to was particularly unhelpful 🙄.
I don’t think they comment on the results until they see the trend so I guess they may repeat them on Monday depending on the scan! Feel slightly better and the pains haven’t come back so just need to keep my mind occupied until Monday now!!!
Will you test first thing SLady?
