Flash does your surgery have the possibility to view results online? Mine does but it's not well publicised, but now that I've registered I can check results anytime (usually on there pretty quickly too, GP said they didn't have them yet but I'd already seen them).
If I were you I'd push to know the figure, say it's to put your mind at ease. Because they could be fobbing you off when further testing us needed. Or you could have a really good result, but you don't know it. It's your medical information after all.

Polka at first NHS appointment I was weighed and measured, had an internal, not a scan just a look and feel if things seemed normal, they took a swab for chlamydia test. Then lots of questions about how long trying and how my periods are, how long they last etc.
At the end I was referred for an HSG which I had on next period and was prescribed Clomid. Much further down the line now but that's how I remember first appointment.
