Second lot of bloods done! Full steam ahead for results next week little bit nervous that I'm going to be an infertility casserole, full of bits that don't go together

skipper sorry you've had a rough night, but glad it's not as rough as it could have been. I agree that you should not be expected to just get on with things as you are, it annoys me that even medical people seem to view our bodies sometimes as just vessels and that pain/discomfort/quality of life isn't a priority.

kerry I think you are justifiably angry with him. It is one thing for him to prefer how you look at certain times to others, it would I think be fine for him to say 'Oh great, I love the idea of spicing things up, maybe I could buy you some new underwear to wear one night, that would really do it for me'. To imply, as I think he did, that your everyday attire and hairstyle is fundamental to him finding you sexy is hugely insulting. Personal hygiene and selfcare is fundamental to me to be attracted to DH but beyond that, I accept that day to day we wear what we wear for our lifestyle, to be comfortable etc. I'd just as much want to have sex with him if he was wearing jeans and a jumper and suggested sex as if he was naked. Sorry for getting on my horse but I was in an abusive relationship when I was younger with someone who constantly undermined how I looked, what I wore, etc and it was so damaging. I just think that saying 'I love you all the time but I prefer it when you've got sexy undies on' is not the same as saying 'To find you sexier you are going to have to dress differently and look different almost all the time'.

OverinaFlash · 24/11/2017 09:53

Jam how many more days of stims do you have? (Sorry, I'm really going to have to learn and remember this stuff soon). I'm glad acupuncture is helping you. It's so important to have a range of tools to turn to to help cope during all of this.

bassetmum · 24/11/2017 09:55

I’m with you jam. Comfy undies all the way!! I do get the nice ones out every now and then but as I am struggling so much with my body confidence at the moment I don’t really feel I can pull them off right. If that makes sense. I hope everyone with DH problems can sort it out so you can have good weekends.

My Friday positives are
1- I’ve managed to get to the gym this morning not the best workout but managed to up my weights again.
2- I am off to London tonight to meet up with my best friend and go to the steps and vengaboys concert.
3- I have had a really good birthday week off from work. Wished I had got more stuff done but I feel more relaxed.

OverinaFlash · 24/11/2017 09:59

Ooo well done basset I forgot it was Friday! Lovely positives, enjoy the concert!

My positives are:

  • I've got a massage booked for tomorrow, something with bamboo, for feeling soothed and cocooned apparently.
  • DH and I are going to Christmas at Standen House on Sunday for gift shopping, Christmas afternoon tea and looking round the house all Christmassy (plus pub lunch/dinner).
  • Told the boss about Vietnam last night and she was totally understanding so that's a relief.
  • Last weekend at home just me and DH before Christmas, so going to enjoy some quality time.
sk1pper · 24/11/2017 10:22

Jam - I think the Flying Spaghetti Monster is watching over this thread indefinitely though I hope we’re not offending anyone with faith. Please just say if that’s the case anyone! Why don’t you say that you need to go home to give the cat flea treatment? It’s a two person job normally. Even that might sound weird though...

Kerry - you’re a better person than me. If anyone tries to make me insecure in any way, I instantly go for the killing blow but that was how I was brought up. To be fair, I could make a bit more effort at home - I’m a complete slob. The other day my DH pointed out that I had a huge hole (in my otherwise unattractive knickers) and when I put the next pair on, they also had a hole in them. DH just rolled his eyes and said “fuck my life” in this jokey way he always does when I’m doing something strange. I guess I’m lucky to have someone so tolerant but I do often what goes through his head. With regards to your situation, I still think you should get some demands in yourself. Maybe he should treat you to more romantic meals out or something?

Kathrino · 24/11/2017 10:45

Thanks for the vitamin advice Mouse and Kwick. I think separate is the way to go - I already take folic acid separately as I take 5mg of it and I have a fairly good diet at the moment (if you ignore last night's dinner which mainly comprised prosecco...) so probably don't need much more than that and some vitamin D. I do admit to being a bit of a lazy folic acid taker like you Flash for exactly the same reason...

Kerry, I'm so sorry your DH is being such a twat. That is definitely not on. WTF does it matter what you wear? Clothes generally come off pretty quickly!

Welcome Claire, there are lots of us starting in Jan so you're in good company here!

pyjamas, good luck for your interview. Hope you get some downtime this weekend and don't spend the whole time prepping! We have an endless stream of people leaving at the moment, seems to be the way it is these days.

sk1pper, your poor thing. I hope today isn't too bad and you're not in too much pain. I can't even imagine going through that every month.

Jam, glad you're feeling a bit calmer and I'm so impressed with the way that you're handling the stims. Hope you manage to think of a good excuse for tonight! Speaking of the Body Shop, they have a seasonal vanilla chai fragrance at the moment which is really nice. I stocked up yesterday.

KerryLeanne84 · 24/11/2017 11:23

Thanks for your support and for being so protective of me ladies! He has now apologised properly and agreed he was being a twat and what he said was awful.

Flash completely agree! The first thing is exactly how I was expecting the conversation to go.

Sk1pper - I'm definitely not an angel, I did say some stuff back to him

Anyone got any black Friday bargains?

WingingIt83 · 24/11/2017 13:14

Can't keep up with the thread so just placemarking for now.

Age 33 soon to be 34
Cycle 23 cd4
Never any sniff of a bfp
DH has now density and some low morphology (4 then 7 then 2.5%)

Ivf starting when my first period of 2018 arrives (currently due mid jan meaning egg collection around end of February)

Although I don't get a chance to post very often I'm always reading. This is the only thread I've ever been on and take a lot of comfort in it knowing we're all in the same boat xx

sk1pper · 24/11/2017 13:24

Spoke too soon, had to leave work because the cramps have started up again. I should’ve known I wouldn’t have got away so lightly. My whole team is out today so I’ve just had to send a fleeting message to my manager and hope she doesn’t mind me having left. I’m not sure how sympathetic she’ll be over period pain, I haven’t had to go off in this new job with it yet.

gizmoismymate · 24/11/2017 13:27

Hello lovely ladies - this thread seems super positive.

Firstly the title is perfect for me as that is how my boobs feel right now..

So my name is Gizmo ( which is the name of our cat)
38 so to be 39 - still can't believe I will be 40 next year
TTC since April 2015 which was 1 month before we got married. Not a sniff of a BFP. Been with my DH for 7.5 years.
I'm on the TWW from our 1st Cycle of IVF with ICSI - NHS funded. DH has swimmers issues so we were referred straight away for IVF no other tests apart of the standard FSH/AMH etc which are all in the normal range for my age.

For those ladies worried about needles - I was super worried and the 1st night was a total baby about it all - in the end I think I would make a great drug addict - I was injecting in restaurant bathrooms, in the car etc really building into our life. It can feel you put your whole life on hold when you start on this route.

Really lucky I didn't really have side effects but we've had more than few disappointments - my baseline scan showed 14 follies - but as soon as start on the stims only 4 in the end with 3 eggs - 2 of which 'disappered' before ICSI - they think they weren't of great quality but orginal it was explained to us that they got damaged so who knows. Ended with 1 'top quailty' eggie which was transferred on day 3..

Hating the TWW - more so that I can't go to the gym fully or have super nice baths or go to a spa..

Kerry totally feel you on the DH. We had a chat on a similar topic about the 'sexy in sex' disappearing. More so the lack of oral activities - but seriously I wasn't going to waste swimmers ;-) If anyone knows of someone getting preggos via there stomach please let me know ...

Nice to meet you all ladies - hope everyone has amazing weekends planned x

florafoxtrot · 24/11/2017 14:11

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for the new thread Jam and apologies for my lack of posting on the last one. Think I just ended up falling behind, never catching up and then never having much to say! In terms of my vital stats...

31
Cycle 18 of TTC#1
No BFPs ever. Hubby has pretty low morphology but his other parameters are good so FC say it shouldn't really mean anything. So overall we fall into the unexplained category.

Oh skipper I'm so sorry for what you have to go through each month with AF. It's not normal and I'd bet if you weren't TTC then they would be investigating it further. And if you were a man it would be cured! Angry

Glad you got sorted with your DH Kerry and glad that you know its not OK for him to talk to you like that.

Hope the injections are going ok Jam - the mixing sounds mega fiddly!

How are you feeling Kwick - hope you are keeping cosy!

So... we went the FC yesterday for the private consultation and on their recommendation we are starting a medicated IUI cycle. As we went in on CD2 they were able to start right away and we did my first Gonal-F injection last night. All very quick but feeling good to be getting on and doing something! We are self funding this and then we'll qualify for NHS IVF in June.... so feeling like I'm regaining some control until that time.

Hope everyone else is doing OK. I'll try to keep up this time!

KerryLeanne84 · 24/11/2017 15:08

Good luck with the IUI Flora! If you have any IUI questions, me and Kwick have both had loads!

struggleisreal · 24/11/2017 15:17

Hello all

My main Friday positive is that I have my embryo on board! It has been such a stressful couple of days but I have a good quality 3 day embryo, and they are going to keep an eye on the second one although it was looking quite fragmented. Now all I can do it wait. Thank you all for your support - you are amazing!!

gizmo sounds like we've both had a similar time getting to egg transfer - I'm not sure how I got through the last few days.

kwick thanks for the 2WW tips - hubby already thinks I am going mad saying I can't have cold drinks!

skip so sorry you're having such a shit time. Hot water bottle, chocolate and sofa!

kerry sorry you've had a rough time with your husband. I think infertility puts so much stress on both of you that it comes out in funny ways. Glad you've made up.

jam you're doing great with the stims - keep it up!

I have a couple of granny cardigans that my husband hates as well as plenty of clothes! I'm also quite slovenly in other ways I think
There is a fashion editor on Instagram who uses the hashtag #clothesmyhusbandhates which makes me laugh.

Massage sounds lovely flash

Happy belated birthday bassett sounds like you've got a lovely weekend planned.

struggleisreal · 24/11/2017 15:19

Also my stats

33, TTC since Feb 16
No real explanation although loads of 'maybe's' and I think i'm looking at low ovarian reserve to top it off!
At the very start of my first IVF 2 week wait..

This thread has been such a lifeline!

Jamon · 24/11/2017 17:44

kerry your DH sounds a bit like my DH. I have accused him or having bpdy dysmorphia as he complains of being fat, but he is so lean and fit as a fiddle - its ridiculous. He also obsesses over his hair and what he wears -much much more than me. He takes twice as long to get ready as I do! Honestly. Men. With you on winter cosiness - the first thing I do when I get in from work is put my pyjama bottoms on and thermal socks.

flash think people usually stim for about 10 days. I've got a scan on Monday to see how my ovaries are responding. I've got some twinges going on so I think the FSH is getting to work! Too true about the range of tools. Glad you've got the Vietnam thing sorted. You will not be an inferility casserole! You will be a perfectly fertile omelette - full of eggs.

Lovely positives basset!

skipper flea treatment!! Hahaha that would be so funny. At like 10pm Friday night - guys could you hold dessert ? We just need to do a flea treatment. Baaaaaa. Hope your pains subside quickly.

Thanks kath that chai sounds delicious!

Glad you're still with us winging

Welcome gizmo and best of luck for your TWW

No worries flora glad you are still with us too. That's great news about your treatment and well done getting the first injection done.

CONGRATS on being PUPO struggle!! I have everything crossed for you and embie.

OP posts:
QuietTime · 24/11/2017 18:41

Eek struggle flora exciting! Everything crossed for you both

Lovely to hear from you winging

Welcome gizmo - how are you feeling? Hope the TWW isn't too stressful, xx

Hope everyone scheduling and handling injections is OK - am impressed how you haven't let it take over your lives and you're still doing other things; hope you enjoy the weekend - happy Friday!

kwick · 24/11/2017 19:29

pyjamas great post! I see that OBE coming closer and closer!!!

kerry do you want me to come round and give your DH a slap? AngryAngryAngry

jamon I have no Black Friday Strategy!!!! 😱😱😱😱 was I supposed to have one? I think I am done now... 😬

I think I may have missed something... what is the Flying Spaghetti Monster? Confused

jamon I always cry at these types of appts too...
If I were you I would just do the injection late.

skipper have you checked out the Hormone Coach on Instagram? Think it may be worth a gander.
I hope you are feeling better Flowers

flash you should get a treatment plan so you don't have to remember Wink

basset I hope you did not get caught up in the Oxford Circus incident.

flash I have had a bamboo massage. I thought that meant the oil was from bamboo but the massage was with bamboo sticks!!! Shock it was really nice though.
So glad your boss understood.

Welcome gizmo!!
When is your OTD?

flora I am in my jimjams with my thermal socks on and just about to heat up a seed bag Grin
Yay to your IUI!!!!

struggle you are PUPO!!!!! Well done!!! When is your OTD? I have only a 9 day one with 5 day blastocyst - so it is 12 days for you?

So so glad it is the weekend!
We are going to the Museum of London and the allotment & I am having a sleepover with my beloved nephew!

MouseLove · 24/11/2017 19:58

FYI ladies frers are on Black Friday deals. Just got a pack. 🤷🏻‍♀️

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B001DULLKE/ref=mpssa111aa_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1511550309&sr=8-1&keywords=frer+pregnancy+test&dpPl=1&dpID=41gwIS8b79L&ref=plSrch

Also has anyone's ff charts updated with a new key under it. Mine has allllll the data now on my chart 🙃

florafoxtrot · 24/11/2017 21:03

Yay to being PUPO struggle - it's so exciting! I've got everything crossed that embie is getting all settled in - picking curtains and strategically placing vases etc.

I also have no Black Friday strategy... so far I've bought myself a candle... laptop is beside me but can't be arsed setting it up...

Enjoy your hols Lemon - mega jealous.

So I guess in other news I told my boss today that I'm starting treatment, I'm not particularly close to her and she very recently passed me over for promotion so relationship was probably at an all time low... however her first words were "I've been there..." turns out her wee girl was a result of a medicated cycle as she has PCOS. She was incredibly supportive and obviously totally got the emotional rollercoaster that we all go through. Feeling loads better about that aspect now.

kwick · 25/11/2017 05:34

flora glad your boss was understanding 😘

mouse what can I say? I folliwed your link, put the FRER in my basket as well as a mascara and then Amazon would not let me check out on either my phone or ipad and I missed the flash sale... gutted

HepKestrel · 25/11/2017 07:21

Keep your slippers on girls...... First snow of the season here in the NW

OverinaFlash · 25/11/2017 07:33

Oh hep it might be boring if you get it every year but I adore snow! It must be the Canadian in me.
