Hey super ovulators and those struggling with infertility after miscarriage this is where we are! Come on over ...

No, no, no Duggs. Your post made my blood run cold. I really thought this was going to be it this time. Just so sorry.
I know it's hard, but the positive is that you got pregnant, when that hadn't happened for a while. That's the way I see my last 2 pregnancies, even though I've got nothing to show for them! I really believe you will get there; you're still young and have a normal hormone profile.
Will you be able to have an ERPC and will they be able to do karyotyping? Knowing there was a genetic abnormality in my last big pregnancy simplified things enormously for me. I no longer had to be wondering what was wrong with me, searching the internet for stuff; it was just the most ordinary of reasons in the end.
Sue, that's wonderful news! Good old DHEA, eh? You did take it, didn't you? I get so confused with who's doing what sometimes. I'm on 10mg at the moment and no boils so far.

suemays · 09/09/2013 14:41

I agree with brown in that you have got pregnant after a while so I think I would continue for a while on TCM. Were you having weekly acupuncture? Maybe you should give yourself a time limit of natural conception for 6 months and then look at donor or using your frostie? I was having acupuncture after my Erpc as it speeded up the process of getting my hormones back to normal. Don't lose hope, its a stage further than before as you know it can implant properly.

Yes I was on co q 10 and dhea so hoping one of them worked. I think the ivf drugs restarted my ovulation. Who knows to be honest??? Just hope it finally works.

Abney · 09/09/2013 15:08

Duggs gutted for you but please, please don't give up. You are one of the last remaining 'old timers'. I believe it may be a numbers game too and everyone will get there in the end. What held you back is not getting pg. Just keep on marching through it all. When you are ready go in all guns a blazing. Perhaps also think about throwing all drugs available once you get yr next bfp. You can do it. Remember I have 10 mc's under my belt and many others have been in similar position with a successful outcome in the end.

Suemays I was drunk 1 week before a BFP so perhaps it did improve implantation. It didn't do me any harm. I am keeping everything crossed for you.

lemonsherbet · 09/09/2013 18:12

duggs am absolutely gutted for you. Thought this one would stick. Take sometime to think through what you want to do next. We had been thinking surrogacy or adoption in our case.

sue whispered congrats

Mel3062 · 09/09/2013 18:13

It was me sue that asked about amh, thanks and whispering congrats.
Duggs I'm totally numb for you x

duggs1976 · 09/09/2013 18:18

Hi ladies well I was on clexane, intrallipids, 10mg pred just for good measure, aspirin and cyclogest and my thyroid medication! Really what else can we do?
Sue that is fantastic.
Think a holiday to turkey is in order with lots of vodka.

Firstly Duggs I am totally, totally gutted and heart broken for you. I am sorry you are going through this again, you managed to get this one naturally after balancing your system out so no reafonbwhyvitvdhoukdnt happen again. Sending you hugs, look after yourself.

Ari sorry to hear what you are going through, your head must have been spinning when you saw that line!! Hope the EPU can give you some answers and try to stay sane in the meantime.

Sue whispered congrats, what lovely news. Smile

This feels very insensitive in light of Duggs news but I know people will ask so today we saw fetal pole and heartbeat at scan! First time we have ever seen one, I was crying, laughing and shaking at the same time and my poor oh just couldn't believe it!! Now feeling terrified that it will last.....

Buzzybee123 · 09/09/2013 21:05

Well done pebbles that's great news. How many weeks are you?

duggs were you on hydroxychloroquine? I had two miscarriages with mr s before I tried that so I wonder whether that will help you next time? I am still taking it although worried I am overdoing all the drugs and supplements.

Pebbles73 · 09/09/2013 22:30

Need to speak to NL Buzzy as no longer under Epu unless I have any further problems.

Lovely news pebbles really hope this is your time. So emotional isn't it x

duggs1976 · 10/09/2013 06:23

Ladies I think im going to get my nk cells re tested again.
Can I ask what treatment programmes you are on / were on when you had your most successful pregnancy?

Thought I could ask on the other thread too and try to get a list going?
Thank you Smile

OP posts:
brownstag · 10/09/2013 07:37

Duggs, with my son it was just 25mg pred from a few days after BFP, and aspirin and pregnacare. I think that would have worked again this time if it hadn't been a dodgy egg.
Good idea about the NK cells.

BellyD · 10/09/2013 08:12

Just checking in after a hectic day yesterday and so sad to read your news, Duggs I had so hoped this was your time. Sending you a big hug.

Ari sorry to hear you are still in limbo - it must be so frustrating.

Sue whispered congrats, glad the vodka seems to have done the trick Wink

Pebbles another hurdle over, phew. Still got everything crossed for you.

I'm having a bit of a wtf letrozole cycle, not helped by a 21 day cycle last month.

Arianrhod · 10/09/2013 10:13

pebbles So happy to hear your scan news, crossing fingers that it carries on the way it's started out!

Arianrhod · 10/09/2013 10:18

duggs Posted on the other thread too, but you might want to look at neupogen, it might hold an answer for you.

brownstag · 10/09/2013 10:20

Yes indeed, Pebbles. Smile
Any news, ari? Have you tested again?
I have now had 4 days of almost positive opks. This has never happened before and is not good. Is my latest batch of DHEA dodgy, I wonder? I got it from somewhere else and have been taking it for 2 weeks. Or have I raised my DHEAs so much I've given myself PCOS, which causes high LH?

Arianrhod · 10/09/2013 11:34

No news brown, no - I haven't tested again mostly because I'm out of tests! :) I have to go for the scan tomorrow, but what concerns me is, if this is a new pregnancy (doomed or otherwise), they won't see anything on the scan yet anyway, would they? assuming conception was about 2 weeks ago (ish - how sad is it that I can't remember exactly the last time we DTD?!).

Positive OPKs as in smilie faces? that's peculiar - I didn't ever get that while I was taking DHEA (I took it for just over 5 months). I'm not sure what to suggest - you're not taking Letrozole as well, as you? That can bugger around with OPKs.

brownstag · 10/09/2013 12:19

But at least they will be able to see dangling grape-like objects, or something similar, if that's what the issue is. And if they don't see anything, then presumably you will be asked back for another scan to confirm pregnancy. By which point you'll have done more tests and have a good idea that you are indeed pregnant.
I also always seem to have run out of tests just when I really need them, and then end up spending a fortune.
This is very odd with my tests. I use the sticks that are the same brand as the cheapie internet pregnancy tests, but unlike pregnancy tests, they usually have 2 lines, and if one is as strong or stronger than the control, it's positive. The line is about the same strength every day. I've never had this before. It suggests that LH is continually high. I've taken nothing else, except increased co-enzyme q10 to 400mg, but I can't see that that would have an effect.

Arianrhod · 10/09/2013 12:33

is it worth investing in a box of Clearblue smilie face ones, just to get some kind of definitive? I can't imagine what would keep an LH surge surging longer than 24 hours.

brownstag · 10/09/2013 12:50

These ones are very good. Some people don't get on with opks at all but I've never missed a surge in years of ttc. To be honest, I always get a 3-day period with a positive; a day coming, a strong peak, a day waning. So it might be positive for those 3 days, but this is different as they are the same every day. Also, with a real positive the test line changes instantly for me, whereas these develop over 5 minutes.
No, I can't imagine either. The only condition where that occurs is PCOS, and with my paltry egg supply, that seems most unlikely!
