I just recieved an email containing all of the BNP members list, complete with phone numbers and address.

The story has been reported in the press online today:
here

Not sure what to do with it - teacher and a policewoman are on the list but kids are too.

Ah yes. Thanks WW.

Kevlarhead · 18/11/2008 23:05

I suspect a large number of BNP members will be leaving now that Nick Griffin's demonstrated he can't be trusted with sensitive personal data.

Apparently there was a spat at leadership level in the BNP, and someone senior posted this as a big 'up yours' to the party...

Massive violation of the data protection act, hugely damaging for the organisation, very unpleasant legal fallout for everyone concerned, but I'm still laughing.

Hell, Redwatch has been publishing the addresses of anyone who speaks out against the BNP/NF for ages, but it's based in the US or somewhere where putting someone's address & phone number online (alongside a disclaimer saying "DON'T petrol bomb these commie-loving terrorist scum, nudge nudge, wink wink) is a matter of 'free speech'. Kind of amusing the boot's on the other foot now.

PeaMcLean · 18/11/2008 23:05

You don't even need to save it to Word if you've got Edit / Find on this Page as an option on your internet page.

Megglevache · 18/11/2008 23:05

I was sent the list in Word Spidermama and I just did a Ctrl+F search on my hometown.

ScummyMummy · 18/11/2008 23:06

Not fair game for harrassment- agree with policywonk on that. But their views are utterly offensive and I would be very concerned that teachers and police officers are on their list.

whomovedmychocolate · 18/11/2008 23:07

OMFG - there is some who shares my RL name on there about five miles away from me. And one of my inlaws too

Megglevache · 18/11/2008 23:08

Erm and just for the record I'm not making any petrol bombs to chuck in any letterboxes- thank you.

I am nosing around on BNP forums and finding the hyseria very amusing.

Now I shall parp.

jimmyjammys · 18/11/2008 23:09

SGB - I agree with you on this one - people should be allowed to have extreme views as long as they are not expressing them in a violent manner. I just find it pathetic that they are so scared of being outed because they belong to a certain group - scared of being treated badly because they are in a minority, scared that they might lose their jobs because they belong to a minority group - because you know they would never have those views about other minorities would they ?

Blu · 18/11/2008 23:14

Oh, a loathsome abuse of civil rights in a democracy, I quite agree....

But I can't quite help feeling that it actually makes things a little more democratic really. After all, you can hardly hide the fact that you are black, and now you can hardly hide the fact that you are a paid-up fascist, either. Now everyone knows where everyone stands.

Seriously...not to be condoned...but it was probably an insider wot dunit. Even the victims of this democratic outrage agree on that on their forum. Sothey are thier own worst enemies. How can we defend them from that? Poor things.

weebleswobble · 18/11/2008 23:15

Ok...who's going to admit to the 'fanjo' entry, so to speak, on the blog?

cali · 18/11/2008 23:15

Have just seen what looks like a mumsnet comment on the blog that someone linked to earlier, am I allowed to

PeaMcLean · 18/11/2008 23:22

I'd be more inclined to

OK I know it's wrong and all that, but some of these are so whacky and amusing:

"Will not be renewing 07 (objects to being told he shouldn't wear a bomber jacket)"

Kevlarhead · 19/11/2008 00:26

Oh the irony!

"Mr Griffin alleges that publication of his members' details violates both the Data Protection Act and the Human Rights Act, legislation his party has said should be repealed."

From the Daily Telegraph

BWAAAAHahahahahahahaha...

ShinyPinkShoes · 19/11/2008 00:27

Cali- was it the one mentioning 'fanjo'?

If so, I thought the same thing!
