Hi, to make it easier for people who are finding this subject very distressing, we're going to keep all Baby P posts in one thread. If you'd like to discuss this subject, then here is the thread to do so. We'll go on the other threads and link to this one. Thanks very much.

I am having conflicting religous thoughts this week "how could God let this happen" but then imagining a happy little boy in heaven, safe now.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 17/11/2008 22:28

i think that too

my daughter is in heavan and i try to imagine a happy scene where all children are safe and looked after

i think god needs to build another ark !!

and on that note goodnight
x

mamadiva · 17/11/2008 22:28

I know SS are overworked I meant to say that I did add hat although they failed miserably I wanted a public enquiry into why?

There are alot of things coming out all over the place at the moment we need to find out why and sort it and the ones involved need to be struck off.

For the sake of the children who need to be helped NOW!

Case worker wanted him in care but senior management overruled. Allegation made tonight of budget-watching being the reason why.

MollieO · 17/11/2008 22:32

I think that all we can do as individuals is to take a little bit more notice of those around us and not turn a blind eye in the hope that others don't.

LuckySalem · 17/11/2008 22:33

Mollie - If that's true then for gods sake someone do something!! BUDGET is the reason they allowed (and it is allowed if thats the reason) him to be tortured till he eventually surcomed?

Why is it that you can volunteer to foster for animals but not for children? I am currently fostering some kittens and all I ask they pay for is hospital and food. Why can't I do the same for children?

mamadiva · 17/11/2008 22:33

Think it was St Annes he was(nt) examined no?

Maybe I am wrong but he was born in GOS.

CP goodnite to you xx

I went to shop earlier and on my way home I saw a few bright stars and first thoughts in my head were thats James Bulger and Peter C playing Brought a little smile to my face and then a tear of course

LuckySalem · 17/11/2008 22:34

Obviously when I say hospital for kittens I mean vets! lol

mamadiva · 17/11/2008 22:34

I know Lucky I thought about Fostering or adopting too but am only 22 and DP is only 23 so he isnt up for it but I will reconsider when Im older

BabyBaby123 · 17/11/2008 22:35

he wouldn't have been more at GOSH - he was probably born at North Mid, that't the local hospital. He was seen my the doctor at St Ann's = I suspect she was working as a locum there, I've been there in the past - it's a camidoc service - it's okay but nothing great BUT she was also working at GOSH so she should have damn well been able to spot broken ribs and a broken back. Complete and upper incompetance on her part - relieved to see her contract has not been renewed by GOSH

LuckySalem · 17/11/2008 22:36

We can't foster apparently cos of DD's age as that was what we looked into first.

I think more people need to be made aware of how they can help through fostering and some other people need to stop being paid so much to foster.

My DP's mum fosters and she gets a silly amount just for having a bed spare. I've got a bed spare!!

BabyBaby123 · 17/11/2008 22:36

born at GOSH sorry

mamadiva · 17/11/2008 22:36

A song me and my friend wrote for a fundraising event for alkl abused children

Bright Bright Star

They say that times a healer
One day you might forget
But that's not how I feel
Although we never met

How can this world be so cruel
Never thought it could be true
No one knows it like you do
Times have passed and we've moved on
But in our hearts you were never gone

Bright bright star shining in our hearts
We all dearly miss you although your never far

The day that you were taken
You were truly failed
But just you keep on watching
Coz justice will provail
Oh just you keep on looking
Coz you are our little Angel

Memories your family have
Nevr gone though time has passed
With everyday they love you more
Always young you'll never grow
Yes Your their little one and your their guiding light

Bright bright star shining in our hearts
We all miss you dearly although your never far

The press seems to be whipping everything up going over the case again and again, without actually moving anything forward or adding any other information (possibly that is a blessing).

My son is a very similar age and today dd came home from (secondary) school really upset as her friends told her loads of the details about the case.

I am just finding it hard to comprehend what happened, not the failing social services, personally I think anyone who is prepared to work under the conditions social workers work under, with the under funding and ridiculous work load, combined with seeing and experiencing harrowing things on a daily basis, plus the ridiculous government target indicators, and horribly low wages, deserve a medal, and I am sure the social workers involved in the case are devestated, BUT that anyone could just do this.

The details of the case in the press has taken my breath away and now I am having to try and comfort and explain away horrendous things to my beautiful daughter, who just keeps looking at her brother and saying 'how could anyone do that mum, he must have been just like my brother???'

Don't have any answers, just feel so sorry for Baby P and all the people affected by this awful case.

Will be lighting candles.

mamadiva · 17/11/2008 22:38

Im sure I read the other day he was born there sure I did.

Because it said atleast for the first few days of his life he was in good hands

MollieO · 17/11/2008 22:40

LS most councils are crying out for foster parents and you get paid to do it. Not an easy job to do and there is a very detailed screening process.

Mamadiva you are right re St Anns.

saggyhairyarse · 17/11/2008 22:43

LS, what has your DDs age got to do with fostering? I am interested in fostering but have a young child.

SH27 · 17/11/2008 22:43

bb99 I too cannot believe the details of this terrible case being written in the press.

The horrific and graphic details in The Sun newspaper today, prompted me to write to them to ask them to stop. We don't want this case to be ignored but we need to protect our children.

I too have a son at secondary school and a toddler of a similar age and I have been battling all weekend to hide the specific details from him, as it is too horrific.

LuckySalem · 17/11/2008 22:44

Oh I wrote it but it wouldn't go through! lol - try again

They say that she's too young and susceptible to things from hurt and angry children.

I am exactly the same Mygreataunt - I really wish I hadn't read it. It's a terrible paper and I don't know why I read it. I regret it so much and think it will haunt me forever more.

mamadiva · 17/11/2008 22:52

Totally agree with mygreataunt although have to say I Nhate the word pornographic being used in anyway with this case. Makes me shudder.

I know what you mean by it but still think its horrible.

pluckyducky · 17/11/2008 22:54

I keep reading this thread and can't seem to step away from it, even though it's so distressing. I think, like everyone, I'm looking for some kind of answer although I know I won't find it here. There isn't an answer to be found, no justification for what's happened, and no reason for it to have happened.

So many people care about that little boy and it's just too late. When it was all going on no-one knew, no-one cared. We were getting on with our lives non the wiser. How many more Baby Ps are out there?

I've begun to question myself. If I'd seen that little boy out, would I have suspected anything? Would I have voiced my concerns? Would I have just thought 'poor kid, looks a bit scruffy' or whatever, and gone on with my day?

Sorry, I have nothing constructive to add to the thread but I've been lurking and felt the need to contribute.
