The Restore Britain March seems to have gone pretty well today from what I can glean online.

It could be a faulty algorithm, but the trouble the PM seemed to think would happen doesn’t seem to have materialised. I’ve seen clips from the march where a diverse mix of people have marched, not just football hooligan types.

Probably the same as how Jewish people feel when they see a load of pro-Palestinian marchers calling for intifada 🤷‍♀️

It’s not racist to want controlled immigration and to believe that the current rates are getting out of hand and not conducive to a well-integrated society.

But surely it's a bit racist to attend a march organised by a convicted criminal who founded the EDL and is in the pay of shady characters with a vested interest in destabilising the country that you're apparently so proud of?

RedTagAlan · 17/05/2026 08:01

Perfect28 · 17/05/2026 07:56

How do you think it feels for minorities to see a crowd of thousands of drunk white men waving England flags and crosses?

I would imagine tourists have a story to tell when they get home. I expect part of that story will be a suggestion that maybe London is not a good tourist destination.

I don’t know anyone who is ashamed of being British (or English, but most people I know what see them self as British, given that’s our nationality). I am ashamed to share a country with the idiots who march in support of far-right thugs like SYL but that’s not the same of being ashamed of my country or nationality.

Same. I am proud of our country. Arguably more proud than those that support Reform/Restore/actual Nazis, as I don’t go around talking us down at every opportunity. This is a great place to live.

I watched some live feeds from the march yesterday. Not proud to be associated with anyone that takes to the streets blind drunk and with hate in their heart.

I rather like the chants of Keir Starmer’s a wanker 🤣

I bet you do. I'm sure that you would also like the X post from a far-right poster called 'radiogenoa' loving the footage of of a group of boys who look about 10 or 11, marching and chanting 'Allah, Allah, who the fuck is Allah'. It's all very wholesome and family orientated.

This whole British-born people first thing: what about a woman from the Caribbean who came 50 years ago and has worked as a nurse all that time. She wasn’t born here so I’m guessing she shouldn’t get access to the NHS, her pension, decent housing? Compare that to my neighbour with his St George’s cross out front who’s barely worked a day in his life and his family are all on benefits. But , you know, he was BORN here! He’s white! Therefore he should be entitled to whatever all those British-born fanatics deem he’s missing out on. Brilliant.

Exactly this!

Fizbosshoes · 17/05/2026 08:05

I think a lot of people are disillusioned by the main political parties, and especially in certain areas, might feel like they are forgotten or unheard....but i can not imagine what they think a far right extremist criminal who doesnt even live in the uk, is realistically going to do about it?

Unite the kingdom, my arse, TR literally thrives on hatred, division and pitting one group of people against another. Its basically the only reason hes a household name(s) . But what does he actually do for all these "sensible, educated, normal" families...?

I agree @EvangelicalAboutButteredToast It went fine. Some people won't like to admit this though, and won't admit that not all people who are proud to be British, are massive uneducated bigoted racists. Some of them are well educated, sensible people who welcome diversity. They simply want British born people putting FIRST.

You can’t pick and choose which elements of Reform you decide to affiliate with, they are racist facists with corrupt leaders. And you don’t mean British people first, you mean white people.
Anyone who attended this is disgraceful and are teaching their children intolerance and hatred. You know that but need to whitewash it to live with yourself.
i am waiting for the slow handclap moment when Reform voters with SEND children or parents with health conditions realise all that will be taken away, no more NHS.
You clearly have very little concept of history in terms of this country and immigration. Post war we would have collapsed without it.
there are definitely issues with the current system and some who shouldn’t be here but nothing excuses supporting Tommy Robinson etc. Nasty.

I wonder how Jewish people feel about the banners touting the great replacement theory etc yesterday? Or is anti-semitism ok if it comes from the far-right? Just a family fun day out?

I find it strange and surprising how you are playing down the wide-ranging racism of the Robinson worshippers.

QuintadosMalvados · 17/05/2026 08:10

An ex was a liberal sort of person who droned on about the 'far right'.

One of the reasons I got rid of him was that I realised he was totally incongruent.

Claimed to be an atheist and would tell anybody who'd listen (boring c*).
I'm not a believer, either, but so what? I'm not going to change their minds.

He was, though, very, very, mild about Islam.

In fact, he had a soft spot for it.

Now I am NOT here to single out that particular faith for attack.
I would very much say the say if he had a soft spot for Hinduism.

But the incongruency got me.

No consistency. Utterly untrustworthy bloke.

No, British born people first, we come in all colours and religions.

Yeh the crowd was full of ethnic minorities. Not full of fat white thickos at all. This is your opportunity to post a picture of a token black guy or two and claim it was multiracial.

Passingthrough123 · 17/05/2026 08:17

All this "British-born first" rhetoric from yesterday's marchers makes me laugh. There are currently 2 million British-born Muslims living in the UK and about 1.1 million British-born Blacks – no way was Tommy Robinson and the rest marching in support of their rights too.

Ahhh so they just want British born people FIRST? Like the nazis just wanted non-jewish Germans FIRST and southern states of America back in the day just wanted white people FIRST. That sounds totally sound and unproblematic to me.

I'm sure they are also totally fine with brown and black brits who were born here too! Not a racist amongst them.

Perfect for a family atmosphere 🙄

Yes dd had to face hordes of chanting men shouting this ( amongst other delightful slogans) whilst trying to dismount the escalator at the train station. Of course these nice men, who rather sweetly pointed out to dd that they were there to ‘defend women and children,’ thought it totally fine to surround dd and other single women.
Yes they really made her feel safe and secure.
One of them stopped at the bottom of the escalator with several of his mates and said to the young woman in front of dd ‘ I bet you didn’t know that did you, that Kier Starmer is a wanker?’
Again, dd and all the women there felt so much safer having to travel alongside these nice young men, not.
It reminded me of having to travel home from work after football matches where the hooligans would be on the train. Several police officers were stationed in every carriage. The whole atmosphere was threatening and truly vile. Awful, awful experience.

Loved that! Especially when it dawned on the thickos what it actually said. 🤣

I loved it so much, I donated them a tenner!

I have no idea who's behind Led By Donkeys, but they are very creative.

I think that’s called putting words into my mouth.

I said I rather enjoyed the chants of, ‘Keir Starmer’s a wanker.’ He has done such a poor job his own party is trying to oust him.

In all fairness, you do seem to be aligning yourself with the flag shaggers such people.

Any comment on the anti-semitic banner from yesterday's fun family day out?

You're mistaken, all the flags were put up by people who coincidentally all at the same time felt such pride and patriotism that they wanted to display a flag, but not on their own house , on a lamppost so everyone could enjoy it and feel patriotic too

Probably the same as how Jewish people feel when they see a load of pro-Palestinian marchers calling for intifada 🤷‍♀️

Or when they see banners at the UTK march saying "End Zionist Occupation of Britain! Stop White Replacement"?

Funny idea of a family day out. I try to encourage my kids away from bigotry, not to march alongside it.

(And pre-empting the deflection - I think the pro-Palestinian marches are equally despicable and a both are a disgusting diversion of police resources.)
