The Restore Britain March seems to have gone pretty well today from what I can glean online.

It could be a faulty algorithm, but the trouble the PM seemed to think would happen doesn’t seem to have materialised. I’ve seen clips from the march where a diverse mix of people have marched, not just football hooligan types.

I think that’s called putting words into my mouth.

I said I rather enjoyed the chants of, ‘Keir Starmer’s a wanker.’ He has done such a poor job his own party is trying to oust him.

Starmer banning the 11 extremist speakers from overseas seems to have been pretty effective - number of marchers was down by more than 50% - low turnout and 4000 police officers doubtless contributed to the 'lack of trouble'

keepswimming38 · 17/05/2026 08:34

@EvangelicalAboutButteredToasthonestly you must be a few cards short of a full pack to post this thread and think everyone is going to agree that the march was a lovely family day out. I think you can see by the experiences of some people caught up in it as they were trying to get to work etc that it was far from that. Deluded much? If you are going to say ‘another personal attack’ think on about all those racist comments hurled at innocent people by those marchers yesterday.

So you condone the racist chants that were heard? That's good. But when you marched for British-born first yesterday, were you including the 3+ million British-born Muslims and Blacks currently living in the UK?

Starmer has made such a huge mistake in calling ordinary British people, of all backgrounds, 'far right thugs'. It's astonishing that the person elected to represent them gives the appearance of thinking of the British public with contempt. If people feel unheard, it's his job to ask why and then listen, not dismiss and insult them. I hope the march remains peaceful.

He's shown perfectly why a group like Reform are now trouncing Labour in the polls, only 2 years after Labour won the GE by a landslide. Astonishing.

The mother of Rhiannon Whyte's spoke at the rally about her daughter being murdered by a Sudanese asylum seeker. Rhiannon, 27, was stabbed to death by illegal immigrant Deng Chol Majek in October 2024, who was staying in the asylum hotel at which she worked. She was stabbed 23 times with a screw driver, by the asylum seeker.

Rhiannon's mother spoke at the rally about how she feels Starmer is ignoring her and others. Her speech is linked here, it is clear and heartfelt. It's the Only place I could find the speech online, so please do not do a Starmer.

You're mistaken, all the flags were put up by people who coincidentally all at the same time felt such pride and patriotism that they wanted to display a flag, but not on their own house , on a lamppost so everyone could enjoy it and feel patriotic too

Yep, so patriotic that a friend of a friend asked one of them to take down the flag he put up on a lamppost outside her house and was told "I hope you get raped then." But sure, they're all about protecting women and children...

There is a huge housing crisis, big waiting lists for medical treatment, difficulties getting a GP appointment. Shortage of school places for SEND children, helpfully exacerbated by the spiteful policy of imposing VAT on private schools, forcing many to close.
Thats before we even start on the out of control immigration issue

But all of that is due to the austerity agenda of the Tories for 14 years . . . nothing to do with immigration.

Sadly the other huge impact on our economy has been Brexit, but of course those facts don't fit the far right commentary.

Yes dd had to face hordes of chanting men shouting this ( amongst other delightful slogans) whilst trying to dismount the escalator at the train station. Of course these nice men, who rather sweetly pointed out to dd that they were there to ‘defend women and children,’ thought it totally fine to surround dd and other single women.
Yes they really made her feel safe and secure.
One of them stopped at the bottom of the escalator with several of his mates and said to the young woman in front of dd ‘ I bet you didn’t know that did you, that Kier Starmer is a wanker?’
Again, dd and all the women there felt so much safer having to travel alongside these nice young men, not.
It reminded me of having to travel home from work after football matches where the hooligans would be on the train. Several police officers were stationed in every carriage. The whole atmosphere was threatening and truly vile. Awful, awful experience.

It's really weird but I find that the slightest bit of aggression from men at events like these is met with much opprobrium by some women, however, undocumented men with very different cultural values (not race, culture) towards women- much of which are extremely negative - are met with open arms by the very same women who expressed opprobrium to the men who attended the events they complained about.

What is the psychology behind this?

Love and kindness saving them or changing their minds or some such nonsense no doubt.
A nation of Wendys trying to save Peter Pan.

Not singling out you out for this. I don't know you at all, it is, however, something I've noticed with some British women.

genesis92 · 17/05/2026 08:39

Not surprising at all. How often do you hear about political violence from the right? It’s nearly ALWAYS from the left, ironically

I have literally no idea what you’re on about. I didn’t march yesterday and don’t condone racist chants from anyone. You’re all getting very carried away with yourselves on this thread and deciding all sorts of people are all sorts of things.

Sorry - long post but for people saying that the march was peaceful, family-oriented, ordinary working class people proud of their country etc… here are all the experiences from posters (or family members) who were actually in Central London yesterday or encountered the marchers on public transport.

“My friend and I were in London yesterday and we were making our way through Charing Cross, she is of Sri Lankan descent and a doctor.
The thugs we walked past were emboldened enough to shout paki at her multiple times and spit on her - this was at 11am in the morning.”

“Yesterday was not a nice family day out, it was, as he put it "wall to wall cunts". It was not a fun day for working class Londoners (of any colour) just trying to do their jobs.
He is a football fan, and has been since the 80s and remembers football violence well. In his view these are pissed up football hooligans.”

“It was all white people, mostly men and a few women. I would say 80% men and 20% women. I did see a couple of families with kids in parliament square. It was a rough crowd, lots of drinking, yelling and smoke bombs, defo not the place for small children.”

“I walked along a side street to avoid the march itself and there were big numbers of pissed men and women openly urinating against doors of businesses, homes and back doors of restaurants etc. around Embankment. Such animals - there are plenty of public loos available. Tourists were agog at the sight of men with their cocks out and women squatting with their pants around their ankles.”

“Totally drunk men swearing and swaggering around the place. Dropping litter and cans everywhere. Didn't see many women, just drunk horrible men.”

“I had to walk through the gathering crowds on my way to a meeting this morning, and loads of them were already drunk at 8.30am. They were noisy and aggressive yobs. When I walked home, the streets looked like a council tip with huge piles of beer cans, food wrappers and discarded waste.”

“There were hordes of them getting on the same train as her. Telling a woman who politely asked them to mind their language as there were children present to ‘ Go and fuck yourself, bitch.’ Then screaming at a black woman to ‘Get the fuck out of our country.’
Dd felt very intimidated. Some of them insisted on speaking to her and felt they had the right to ask her where she was going.
They chanting and swearing whilst shouting support for Tommy Robinson.”

“There was a group of middle aged white men with Union Jack hats and t shirts in our carriage, talking about muslims not eating full English breakfasts, haribos and general degrading opinions on muslim women.”

“I had to be in London and on the tube today and it was just a bunch of people delighted about being able to openly express their racism. Didn’t look or sound like having too many brain cells.”

“I've never seen a bigger bunch of drunken bell ends.”

I agree @EvangelicalAboutButteredToast It went fine. Some people won't like to admit this though, and won't admit that not all people who are proud to be British, are massive uneducated bigoted racists. Some of them are well educated, sensible people who welcome diversity. They simply want British born people putting FIRST.

Riiiight. Tell me how does that work with families like mine....I was born in Britain, my younger sibling was not. Be honest, you mean white, ethnic British people don't you?

roxyro · 17/05/2026 08:40

EmeraldRoulette · 16/05/2026 21:04

From what I can see online it was peaceful

Sadly, I have been freaked out by seeing footage a different group shouting "shoot him in the neck like Charlie Kirk" - it's not clear to me who they meant but some people are saying they meant Tommy Robinson.

Unfortunately, the Metropolitan police don't seem to have used their facial recognition cameras on other groups. Because that actually is an incitement to violence.

I wonder if Keir Starmer will suggest we go after those people. It's okay, I know the answer.

They were from the “peaceful” pro Palestine bunch. The peace loving, tolerant left. One rule for them etc…. Maybe that’s why Reform are gaining ground but the powers that be just don’t get it and just carry on with their far right nonsense.

No one is saying the event was a family orientated march full of women and children and old people knitting. The original post was noticing there wasn’t much trouble which was heartening.

Another personal attack.

On the whole my experience of far right racists is they are uneducated, think women are there just for a shag, are anti equality of everything and have no idea what the rule of law is. Is that you?

Stop apologising.
The people who attended felt that they were fighting for a way of life. Agree with them or not, it's not going to be calm.

I hope that you see that this is not a criticism of you.
