Absolutely shocking attack at the Heaton Park Synagogue in Crumpsall North Manchester. My heart goes out to all those hurt and affected by this terrible atrocity.

Totally agree and those on the left would do well to understand this.
But they won’t .

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 02/10/2025 14:36

I’m so glad my Jewish grandmother isn’t alive to witness what has happened- they say never forget but so many have. Only the Jews could have an atrocity happen to them on October 7th and then receive nothing but hate from October 8th onwards. Only the Jews can be told not to be scared about a march that is pro a group that wants them wiped off the earth- not just stepping aside on land but all
murdered. I’m so saddened and so heartbroken seeing how millions and millions demonise us and hate us.

This is horrific. My thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones. I suspect this is politically motivated. I wish people would realise that not all Jewish people are zionists. Pray for peace. This barbarism doesn’t belong on our streets.

It doesn't matter if they are Zionists, they still don't deserve to be murdered on their way to pray!

YourBrickTiger · 02/10/2025 14:31

It is really shocking that no one is there forcing them back but I guess the other units or whatever didn't have time to get there yet. Wee day out for some folk.

I agree. I suspect dementia or something similar because he was trying to be persuaded to get in a car and wandered the other way!

A stray bullet could have hit him, he could have comprimised the operation and his last look up at the camera filming him says it all. He really didnt seem to know what was happening and what danger he and others were in.

Uggbootsforever · 02/10/2025 14:15

So what if they are Zionists? I am. I’m not Jewish.

Whoopee for you. I am Jewish and what we really don't need right now is yet another horrendous and tragic event for the Jewish community being co-opted by anyone trying to spread division and antagonism under the guise of advocacy.

Beachtastic · 02/10/2025 14:39

We should also condemn the genocide that the state of Osrael is currently committing.

Please can I remind you that the jury is still out on the question of whether Israel is committing genocide. Given that 4% of the Gazan population has been killed in the 2 years since 7/10, and the fact that Hamas hide themselves among civilians, wear no uniform, maximise civilian deaths through strategic siting of their operations, and masquerade as aid workers etc, it is quite possible that Israel will not be found guilty of this when we are finally able to examine the facts clearly, with access to military intelligence. To pretend otherwise is, to put it mildly, premature, and at worst perpetuates the Hamas propaganda that encourages horrific attacks such as today's.

No one can ever answer the question “how should Israel have responded” if France had invaded Glastonbury, killed, raped and tortured over a thousand, taken hostage hundreds abs had a long standing goal to wipe out Britain because they had conquered it once - how would British people have liked the UK government to respond?

Exaclty my point!

But why is whether they are Zionists or not seen as a relevant factor in whether they should be killed? You can be a Zionist and not be Jewish, or vice versa.

ruethewhirl · 02/10/2025 14:42

It's terrible. It feels like the so-called civilised world is lying in tatters at the moment.

Comefromaway · 02/10/2025 14:14

I haven't witnessed any of the marches in London and the description of the hissing is awful. I would absolutely call that kind of thing anti-semitic and it should be clamped down on.

I have witnessed several of the marches in Leeds - I wasn't an attendee, I was on my way to places each time I saw them and they have always appeared to be peaceful and focusing on wanting the genocide to stop.

I guessed you missed the march in Leeds where an NHS doctor called on people to take up armed resistance against British Jews or other marches in Leeds where people have been arrested and later been found guilty of antisemitism/hate speech?

Comefromaway · 02/10/2025 14:44

Obviously. And that kind of behaviour/speech is awful and should be condemned/arrests made.

God forbid one forgets to be excruciating balanced and non-partisan to jews on a day they get murdered outside their house of worship.

It leads to endless cycles of prejudice, alienation and violence so, yes, God forbid!

Goldsandal · 02/10/2025 14:45

This attack is truly appalling.

Very off topic and please forgive the question, but my DS is due to travel to Manchester later today. Can anyone there tell me how transport is affected - are trains running into the main station as normal?

Yes he should be fine. Crumpsall is quite a way out of the city itself.

stomachamelon · 02/10/2025 14:47

@25milesfromhomeagree wholeheartedly.

YourBrickTiger · 02/10/2025 14:47

This could be wayyyyyyyyy off point but although I profoundly disagree with what is going on in Gaza and think Netenyahu is a bastard of the highest order, I have Jewish friends, I've always taken a great interest in their history and am finding it hard to express how wonderful every Jewish person I know is, because there seems to be this perception at the minute that we have to hate Jews because of what Israel are doing.

All I did was support your comment in a differently worded manner so I don’t get your responses at all!

Equally I think there are many people out there who want nothing more than for civilian deaths in Gaza to end, they just don’t support the ‘Palestine mob’ of the UK in their methods of intimidatory marches, antisemitic imagery and general support for Hamas/Sharia.

PreciousTatas · 02/10/2025 14:51

There has been so much hateful rhetoric pointed at Jewish people in the UK I'm shocked but not surprised.

No doubt these cretins are only emboldened by things like those creatures who called for the rape and murder of Jewish girls after October the 7th getting away with a slap on the wrist.

It's horrendous and will also play into the hands of Reform.

Are you fucking kidding

Eh? I am stating facts.

Your opinion is not a fact

MaturingCheeseball · 02/10/2025 14:54

That NHS doctor is a disgrace. How does she feel when faced with a Jewish patient? Not terribly inclined to go the extra mile, I’d guess.
