Civil unrest, what's really going on?

Sadworld23 · 03/08/2025 17:02

My DH keeps chirping up with, there's riots here, protests there, immigrants have done assaults in xxx etc. He sees me as a bit of a do-gooder..

All UK places, but when I look at my regular news, there's very little reporting of it.

My DH has some MH issues currently and to confront him with 'what the heck are you reading?' isn't worth it right now.
I make comments such as, ooh that sounds grim and doesn't sound good, and that's very worrying, but I'd really like to know if it's really happening and where he's getting this info.

Genuine refugees aren’t all male no! But the non genuine ones seem to be - you know, the ones who destroy all their passports before they arrive here. Nobody minds genuine refugees, it’s the ones pretending to be refugees - all young men, all undocumented with no women and children in tow. Nobody knows who the hell they are because they have no documentation. Why aren’t people understanding that it’s THOSE people, not genuine refugee families and genuine refugee women and children that people are up in arms about! It’s the thousands upon thousands of undocumented ones that are arriving here every day that people are worried about. I’m sick of people labelling concerned members of the public ‘far righters’ and to be fair, it’s old and doesn’t wash anymore.

Because they frequently make themselves look stupid by claiming all migrants are male and rapists and a secret army and that there no women and children - plenty of them deny the existence of women and kids.

I’m not listening to your ideology! I’ve said over and over again we don’t mind GENUINE refugees! It’s the ones who aren’t genuine we do mind! Nobody said ALL refugees are all male! However the ones coming over on boats seem to be majority male with no women or children - try disproving that!!!

Aye yes the truth hurts for you I’m afraid! 😂

Bexit wasn’t a conspiracy, however what you are spouting is!

Admit it, you are embarrassed at what you've voted for and desperate to cover up the reality of it! The EU were going to change the rules on offshore tax havens and that's why all the rich bastard politicians tricked you into voting for Brexit. He told you a pack of lies! The 17m that voted were a small group of the countries most gullible! You remember the picture of the fake crowds of Turkish people he told you were coming? You were played to protect his off shore accounts.

I’m a remainer, and think Brexit is irrelevant to this now. We need to deal with the issue at hand.

What the absolute fuck are you talking about? You have absolutely NO idea what I voted for so don’t you dare come on here with your conspiracy theories about what you like to think I did and didn’t do!

Come back when you can talk sense with actual FACTS rather than your pathetic dismissive attitude which is quite frankly laughable!

If anyone sounds gullible it’s you!

JamesMacGill · 04/08/2025 19:23

Yeah, all that could be true and even so, the facts I gave still stand. A broken clock is right twice a day, and until you can actually dispute the recording, using pure insults won’t help your case.

They are decriptions based on facts, not insults

You have no evidence that the recording is true.

I choose not to believe TR, whatever a broken clock says.

Look, as part of my job I take calls from public facing staff from a certain organisation when they've been abused, I'm getting call after call from staff that have had vile abuse just for having a foreign accent and some of them have been here decades! It has got very out of hand because many low IQ brainwashed far right zombies are attacking anyone with an accent or skin tone and it's depressing!

The recording was acknowledged as being true by the civil court judge. Do you believe him/her?

Entirely separate issue. And racism here doesn’t mean we need to import unvetted men who are over represented in sex crime.

Not one thing about Brexit is a conspiracy! It happened, we are living with the consequences of it! Brexit won and what did Nigel do? He ran a mile, he ran away from running for PM, he dropped UKIP like a hot potato and virtually went into hiding because he wanted nothing to do with brexit because he knew it was a piece of unworkable shit but he needed to get us out of the EU to avoid the new tax haven laws they were bringing in! Remember the recent Brexit debates and how Farage went missing again!

Nigel wasn’t PM when brexit happened! If I remember rightly it was the tories who implemented brexit and didn’t do a great job either! But I voted remain anyway so what’s your point in your argument with me? Writing more drivel to suit your own narrative about what you think I voted for! You really are getting so desperate now it’s laughable 😂

I think your anger is justified but completely misplaced.

You do realise the people who are trying to get these hotels shut down are the ones living next to them. They are dealing with the same fears/ problems you are angry about inheriting.

They are not all in town or city centres. Where I am there is an all male hotel in a residential village of 2000, and a family hotel in a residential village of 4000. These villages are on the outskirts of a small town. Next to primary schools, and in residential areas.

Whilst they don’t want to thrust this problem on other people. Would they prefer a few HMOs to hundreds of men. Yes.

Personally I think families only should be in HMOs or hotels and single males should be in a secure or remote facility for processing.

FractionalKrispie · 04/08/2025 20:02

@YouSetTheTone

Exactly! It’s not the solution and I don’t think bias, stereotypical attitudes, assumptions about the intentions of others is going to bring about positive change. It’s not about ‘being kind’ - it’s about understanding the issue from every perspective and why the situation has occurred.

Compared to the rest of Europe I think we are pretty average in terms of how many we accept - Germany taking significantly more than we do.

I don’t think it’s feasible to be or expect to be the only European country who doesn't take asylum seekers/immigation. Where do you draw the line? If we say we won’t take people from x country - but will from y country - then - is it right that we are excluding certain countries when the rest of Europe are not? How will we then be perceived? How will the rest of the world react if we need help?
And when war takes place it’s usually the bordering countries that take the most asylum seekers, so globally we are pretty far down the list. Turkey and Iran have taken the most refugees.
I think we need to think bigger than - just the UK. We need to think of global fairness and a global solution.

Apparently TR has just been arrested at Luton Airport. Incoming livestream Tousi TV on YouTube.

@AliasGrace47 Or the general gay community being blamed for STDs and child abuse, when again that was overwhelmingly men

I'm pretty sure that those criticisms are directed specifically at gay men, and not lesbian women.

Yes i voted remain but I don't hold Brexit responsible for immigration issues

The Tories gave press conferences offering the vacancies left behind by EU workforce to the wider world, Brexit was used to invite them here and we had no way to return them to France! How can it be a coincidence that we had little issue until Brexit opened the door and offered them jobs! How can you pretend it's not linked! My granddad's historic airbase was ripped to bits because the floodgates had been opened that bad nu brexit. All the signage and monuments ripped away and flogged to the highest bidder because Brexit invited them to flock here and stopped us sending anyone back.

If you think this can you say which EU country doesn’t have migration issues?

Don't be ridiculous - he was campaigning to leave the EU for 20 years.

Germany also rejects about 81% of asylum claims, whereas Britain rejects only about 54%.

We had them in a nearby rural village it didn't work. 16 weeks, 2 sexual assaults, one knifing, they were removed. The men had nothing to do all day. Scant bus service, was plain stupid. This last winter post Christmas New year, they were in a big town, plenty of buses, shops, fresh sea air, walks. No issues.
