@Commonsensitivity he doesn’t, this is all over twitter so I did some research and looked at photos on NBs FB. It looks the same in several pics . It’s not a black eye. Plus she is clearly right handed, for the record.

So this is (if I've linked it right) a youtube video about wild swimming in the Wyre at St Michaels, published a year ago. I think it shows the bench where Nicola's stuff was left but may be wrong. However it gives an idea of how the sides of the bank are steep and difficult to climb up from a swimmers point of view. I actually felt uncomfortable watching it. I didn't listen to the soundtrack btw so nor sure what it's about

I wonder if threads have been removed because in the show last night they asked people to stop speculating on social media etc, as it was not helping the investigation?
