The chat appears to have gone quiet today after the last thread filled up, so I'm making a new one for anyone who wants to come together whilst we all hold our breath hoping for a good outcome.

Personally I take no notice of anything published in the SUN. Always click bait

liveforsummer · 11/02/2023 21:19

The fact the harness was halfway done the bank does change things imo. I wonder why this has just been released now as the police have been getting loads of flack for still concentrating on the river! I don't know why people are questioning why the lead and harness might have been on her hand. Where else would it have been? If you had to go towards the water in a hurry for some reason you'd place down your phone as it's an expensive item and it's important it does t get wet. No need to stop to put down a harness and/or lead

It’s just a horrible situation. As a Manic Street Preachers fan from when they first came out I was horrified by Richie James going missing. He’s been officially declared dead but has never been found.
This case scared me because there’s nothing that appears to have triggered the result: the dog wasn’t in the water (it was far far too cold for it to dry off in ten minutes and even in hot weather dogs carry that damp wet dog smell), no signs of slipping, no-one heard or saw anything, no apparent reason for her to walk out of her life or end her life (though the latter isn’t a visible thing of course).
It’s the kind of event my mother used to warn me about and (living in a village with a tidal river) that I would laugh at. Now , not so much.
She is just “every woman/mother” and it’s frightening to see what happens if something goes wrong.
Of course the thousands of missing people elsewhere in other circumstances is no less sad but plenty of people choose to disappear.
there’s nothing that suggests this is that kind of scenario- hence frightening and hence people wanting to discuss it.

I tried to "disappear" some years ago. It's actually nigh on impossible.

I was shocked to see how shallow it is from the weir to the bench. Could some one of that build go further than the weir in that time frame? I thought the search teams were there fast. I watched the video of the guy wild diving , and can see its murky under there. I understand that the cold could have got to her or a she had a medical issue. I assumed she could climb out.

The other thing bothering me is the missing lead. I clip my dog harness to the lead not separate when not on the dog @ofwarren .

Stopdropnroll · 11/02/2023 21:23

I asked on the deleted thread about the lead and @ofwarren said that the lead was attached to the harness. If that is the case why did the lady who found Willow use string to tie her up when she could have just used the lead? I know it seems a strange thing to fixate on but it just doesn't make sense so I keep thinking was the lead not attached and in which case where is the lead? Also surely Willow had a tag with a number on her collar or harness, I know it may have been Nicolas number but that would be the first thing I did if I found a lost dog.

I've been following this closely, I'm not far from the area, I'm a similar age to her with children of a similar age so I just don't understand how she could just vanish, it could have been any one of us. I hope that reassures the people who thispnk we are "gawping" by following this and questioning things.

Also agree with a previous poster that ofwarren had conducted previous threads with respect and decorum and the derailing was down to others.

I'm not sure if a body in the water could be found as easily as PF claims. Nicola could still be found. Personally, I believe an accident has occurred.

As for a red van, now, I'm not making any accusations here, but on the documentary last night, there was, what looked like, a red van visible outside the window. Did anyone else see it?

Yes, there is a red van which can be seen through the window.

scottishclive · 11/02/2023 21:27

Are you suspicious of the person or their recollection? Either you think they are part of some conspiracy or they have bad recollection. If you think it's the former then it's just tittle tattle and not relevant.

Asking in good faith not to criticize.😀

dawngreen · 11/02/2023 21:30

The woman who tied willow up said she did not want to use the harness so used string that was already on her collar. No mention of a dog lead at all now @Stopdropnroll

dawngreen · 11/02/2023 21:32

After the person posted about red van parked up there. Twitter lit up with red van man fever.

It’s strange that the lead hadn’t been mentioned.

If she was taken is it not possible that something like this could have happened: Someone (local) watching her from wooded area behind bench. Car parked on road with no CCTV. NB is distracted on teams call sat on bench. If she doesn’t have earbuds on it’s possible perpetrator thinks she’s listening to something and not on a call, she’s not participating, therefore not worried about them hearing anything. Willow has run off playing. Harness on bench ready for when teams call finishes and NB will retrieve Willow. Lead on person. Perpetrator grabs her from behind. Phone falls on floor or dropped/thrown. Perpetrator throws harness towards river to imply an accident and lead Willow towards river area. Willow returns, NB gone, Willow agitated NB is gone. Running between bench and where she had been to look for her.

I don’t know if this fits but it seems as plausible as her falling in the river?

There’s no evidence of her being taken but seemingly less of her drowning, as they’ve looked so hard for her and found nothing.

What was the go fund me for?

dawngreen · 11/02/2023 21:34

That was a well meaning friend not thinking right at the time.

She would only have been able to tie her up by putting the had around the bench and through itself and that may not have left enough lead left.

Really ?

melonraspberry · 11/02/2023 21:38

I was just reading on websleuths that the interview was done at a hotel that Emma White owns. Not saying that for any significance except it shows how integral she is to this.

MaMisled · 11/02/2023 21:39

The red van was the TV crew!

dawngreen · 11/02/2023 21:39

You can get leads that have clips on to make the lead longer or shorter. On the tv they just said the harness nothing about a lead.

String that was already on her collar? That's odd in itself! In no way am I accusing the lady who found Willow and the phone but certain events just don't add up to me. I wonder if we are being given the whole truth....

Kedece2410 · 11/02/2023 21:41

i don't think the body will ever be found, it's either in the sea now or wherever she ended up. Very sad for all concerned, but think this case will linger for another few weeks and then drop off the media cycle

I think so too. The story has already slipped down the news headlines & is no longer trending on Twitter. No news is just that - no news & not newsworthy.

In the absence of her body being found I think the media will go quiet until things like the Police involvement is scaled back

There's not going to be a happy ending now but I hope there is an ending for the sake of her family

dawngreen · 11/02/2023 21:41

She set the gofundme page up thinking she was helping the family, but not talked it through with them.

Activelyannoyed · 11/02/2023 21:41

Oaktree55 · 11/02/2023 18:07

It’s not vanishingly unlikely she drowned. It’s actually very likely. Despite scan guy’s assertions most drowning victims aren’t located quickly (or ever) in tidal areas.

Please keep up. It isn’t tidal there. I mean cmon, it’s all over the media, it’s hard to be confused on this.

Schnittlauch · 11/02/2023 21:42

Shewasnthere · 11/02/2023 20:36

@Schnittlauch but unfortunately this is time we live in, social media is now exactly where people speculate and discuss things. We are an online society. Every thread on this website is distasteful then if you think about it like that.

Not really, as we can choose what we want to post about our private lives on social media. Nicola Bulley's family haven't had the luxury of choice, but people are posting things about them. Anyway, I have reported this thread.

How would £100k help to find Nicola ? It just raised suspicion.
