I couldn't see another post so thought I'd create one.

There is a police press conference this afternoon. I can't see a time for this but it's sounding like a routine one.

"There's cctv though showing her go in to the area of river but no cctv of her coming out so she clearly didn't leave that area"

Is there? How do you know that?

Sadly I think accidental fall.
Too many people (not on here) are treating it like a true crime who done it podcast when actually the real event is far more mundane but tragic. Drownings are incredibly frequent and many are not given the same publicity as this case.
Sadly I doubt they'll find her body. The size of the Wyre estuary at Fleetwood plus the strong dangerous undercurrents will make the search logistically very difficult.

If the river has taken her and as far as Fleetwood without being spotted, sadly she could be anywhere from Morecambe Bay to the Isle of Man now.

I'm local to the area too and as baffled as everyone else, just praying she's gone somewhere quietly of her accord and will soon let someone know she's safe.

There is a lady in twitter based in IE that she’s became obsessed with this story
I saw her; and as an Irish person I can say that anyone who has a tricolour on their Twitter profile is usually a nutter!

*any cctv

I haven’t read everything, but my theory is that she tied up her dog and put down her phone to go and investigate something by the river . Some freak event occurred that meant she fell in e.g. perhaps she fainted. The dog worked himself free some time later and so the impetus for jumping in after her had passed.

Just my theory.

Sporty2022 · 07/02/2023 22:24

I think on the news it was mentioned some 700 vehicles were around the vicinity at the time. That’s a lot of vehicles to find and trace.

Yeah, that's a huge job
How long does dashcam footage last before being deleted or recorded over does anyone know?

The police officer doing the presser said they'd written to most of the vehicle owners and already they had a lot of dashcam footage that they were going through.

The police said they’d checked all the exits out of the area and they were either locked or covered by CCTV with the exception of one, which is why they’re asking for dashcam footage to try and cover that off.

I would never attach keys to a dog for the simple reason they run through bushes etc, and its a invitation to any weirdo to grab your dog and take the keys.

Yes, that is why I thought it was strange. I use a smallish bag with a long strap around my body when out with the dog, for keys, poo bags, phone etc.

Rebus123 · 07/02/2023 22:30

There's cctv though showing her go in to the area of river but no cctv of her coming out so she clearly didn't leave that area

She clearly didn’t leave that on CCTV.
She might have left by a route not shown on CCTV, or concealed in a vehicle.

She might be in the river, but she might not.

Diverging · 07/02/2023 22:30

but my theory is that she tied up her dog and put down her phone

Why would she tie up the dog? Willow was used to being off the lead a lot round there.

So she could leave the dog without it following her?

dawngreen · 07/02/2023 22:37

And ppl keep saying that the dog could not leave the area. Its a small spaniel that can go under gates like that as some one showed her spaniel do.

The dog was running loose when found

"While refusing to rule out foul play, the senior investigating officer in the search for missing Nicola Bulley, has admitted that it was possible she had walked away from the scene unnoticed."

Was this said during the press conference?

Not sure
I never watched the conference live as I was on the school run

The expert diver bloke said it’s impossible for her to reach the sea. It’s too far and when the tide comes in the water is pushed back up the river.

Bluebellwood129 · 07/02/2023 22:58

@ofwarren I'm just wondering if it's definitely correct. If it is, it's quite concerning.

LoveMAFS · 07/02/2023 22:59

I don't believe for one moment that she's in that river.

pigsinoodies · 07/02/2023 23:01

Bluebellwood129 · 07/02/2023 22:58

@ofwarren I'm just wondering if it's definitely correct. If it is, it's quite concerning.

They've no CCTV of her usual route so obviously she might have walked away unnoticed.

itsnote · 07/02/2023 23:04

"And ppl keep saying that the dog could not leave the area. Its a small spaniel that can go under gates like that as some one showed her spaniel do."

A dog can not go "under" the gate in question. It's a metal kissing gate with mesh wire covering any gaps. If anyone had shut the gate on the dog then it wouldn't be going through it. Or under it. Why aren't people able to grasp this?

Bluebellwood129 · 07/02/2023 23:05

@pigsinoodies And presumably so could someone else who could have caused Nicola harm.

pigsinoodies · 07/02/2023 23:11

Yes, which is why they're appealing for dashcam footage.
