Shes posted on there the hopsital letter with the process and details of what is going to happen.

Eeksteek · 30/07/2022 21:34

She’s a fairly naïve, utterly distraught and desperate woman who’s been exploited by a slick, well funded and utterly ruthless organisation with an ulterior motive. She’s been brainwashed by them, I should imagine. She may also feel deeply guilty, given the circumstances. I would. I feel very, very sorry for her. The villains are obvious. She’s as much of a victim as he is, here.

I know it’s easy to blame her, and I think she’s done some unwise things, but I think she’s been hothoused but fanatics at an awful time, and she simply doesn’t have the balanced information we do. Poor Archie.

Tequilamockinbird · 30/07/2022 21:37

She's now posted the hospital letter with a comment saying it's 'disgusting no empathy or compassion'

Those poor hospital staff Sad

OnaBegonia · 30/07/2022 21:51

Hollie and her legal gang repeatedly state Gods Will etc, if that is the case withdraw ventilation and let Gods Will decide and not a bank of machinery.
Surely this woman is suffering from a mental breakdown, all rational thinking has gone, how none of her family has tried to dissuade her from her actions.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/07/2022 22:10

Apart from the incorrect date ( paragraph 2) inviting family members to attend on the 30th/31st August (should be July) the letter is set out with empathy and compassion.

On one of her interviews she was complaining that she recieved notification by email that they were withdrawing support

They probably cannot change the time from 2pm as it looks like the preparation takes many hours .

MrsLargeEmbodied · 30/07/2022 22:10

this is awful and so very sad facebook sharing

She hasn’t redacted the names of the signatories which is so naughty. The court didn’t identify any of the treating medics, I assume for security reasons, and those two named people are probably feeling pretty concerned right now.

I do think the letter should have been better proof read. It’s an objectively minor thing but obviously the typos have caused upset and been seized upon as showing a rush/lack of care etc

Monkeychimp1 · 30/07/2022 22:25

There shouldn't have been typos in the letter, seriously it should have been proof read x 3 given the circs

Tequilamockinbird · 30/07/2022 22:26

@Cantanka the post I saw didn't have signatories names on. Maybe she realised and cropped it? I'm not in the Army group, it was shared on Dignity For All's page.

Error in the dates is not good, and there are a few spelling/grammatical errors but overall I think it's quite a gentle and compassionate letter (as gentle as it can be in this situation). It will no doubt be a written summary to confirm what was verbally told to the parents. And I'm sure that verbal delivery would have also been compassionate and empathetic.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/07/2022 22:29

The one I saw had two names (obvs I'm not going to put any detail ) of medical staff

Well, they are compassionately choosing to have it take many hours, by freeing his body from the infusions so that Hollie can lie with him and giving them the family time to come to terms with each process.

Taking the monitoring off in the morning will feel like a big deal as well, because after nearly 4 months of it Hollie will have become accustomed to its reassurance. They are gently doing this in a step-wise way so that each phase (monitors off, infusions stopped, tube out) can be processed before the last.

In reality, it could all be done and over in less than 30 minutes.

Tequilamockinbird · 30/07/2022 22:33

Ah DFA have just updated their post to say that it was them who cropped out the signatories names on the copies posted.

Sadly the two names are in the copy shared in the facebook group, I'm guessing DFA cropped that out.

That really is unacceptable, she's putting them at risk of death threats or worse.

Agree with this, typos are one thing, but some of the sentences are unclear in what they mean and getting the dates wrong isn't ok.

I'm wondering if they had repeatedly tried to communicate with Hollie/Paul in person, and this was done in a rush? But it stands to reason you'd give a written copy to caregivers given how hard it would be to take info in.

1blossomtree · 30/07/2022 22:44

Post with letter edited to say:

Disgusting. The UN have intervened and its with our government so because the hospital no we have a chance they are prepared to break international law to murder my son quickly . Ask yourself why ? What are they worried about?

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 30/07/2022 22:44

No respect for her at all. I feel for the hospital and hope security is stepped up massively.

NotHerRealNames · 30/07/2022 22:46

What's the name of the Facebook group?

nolongersurprised · 30/07/2022 22:49

It’s good that the CLC haven’t succeeded in arguing that beating heart=life, I wonder if they feel it was all worth it?

Hollie will no doubt want to take legal action against the hospital/staff after Monday but the CLC will be gone, I think. Nothing in it for them after the beating heart stops

Monkeychimp1 · 30/07/2022 22:53

Could the letter have been drafted in advance in preparation. But at that time they didn't know when they would be able to issue it to the parents .

And now the time has come we are in a different month and they have blundered by not updating the dates.

It's an error as it affirms 'standard letter ' but the information is all still the same.

Unfortunate and has given Hollie something to focus on saying nhs don't care etc....

BreadInCaptivity · 30/07/2022 22:54

I really hope Hollie and the family can start coming to terms with what will happen on Monday and allow the withdrawal of treatment to happen in a peaceful and dignified fashion for all involved.

Sadly, tonight's FB posts indicate this is unlikely.

Motorina · 30/07/2022 22:54

Does anyone know how the balance of jurisdictions plays out? The UN has send their request to the UK government. But the government can't just override a court's decision, can they? If they could, surely they would have done so in 2019, with the proroguing parliament decision?

IANAL, but I just don't see how the government have the power or authority to meet the UN's request. And the hospital themselves would be on extremely shakey grounds in prolonging care after the courts have ruled that it's not in Archie's best interests.

Would be interested in the thoughts of others on this.

Monkeychimp1 · 30/07/2022 22:55

murder my son quickly

FFS

Somethingneedstochange · 30/07/2022 23:00

Dead people can't poo?😂 I've heard it all now. After a person has passed away they're bladder bowels empty.

PomRuns · 30/07/2022 23:02

In a previous case, staff did receive death threats and due to their names being made public by the family, people found out their home addresses. I feel terribly sorry for the family but this is so vindictive and really inexcusable.
