Terrifying. That poor family

KittenKong · 20/10/2021 21:29

Oh gosh yes - little year old girl disappeared from a tent when camping. It’s been a few days now.

Police suggesting it isn’t a simple case of child wandering off. I can’t even to begin to imagine how desperate we family are.

RoseAndRose · 20/10/2021 21:42

I hadn't spotted this on the British news, but had a look after seeing this thread. Hers a link in case anyone eise hasn't seen it.

www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/oct/20/cleo-smith-wa-police-say-tent-zip-was-undone-higher-than-four-year-old-could-have-reached

Police spokesman said: "When we are satisfied from a land search point of view ... that Cleo is not here, certainly it becomes more possible that that nightmare scenario [that she was abducted] is the one that we have to face"

Apparently a car heard screechingbaaay around 3am. Could be random. Police revealed over 20 registered sex offenders in the area.

Viviennemary · 20/10/2021 21:44

I'm a bit suspicious of those random abductions of toddler age children. I think there is usually a different explanation.

ShirleyPhallus · 20/10/2021 21:47

I’ve been following this, absolutely devastating for the poor family

Lightswitch123 · 20/10/2021 21:53

Terrible. A waking nightmare. The poor girl and her family.

RevolvingPivot · 20/10/2021 21:57

Like what? What do you think is more likely than a predatory sex offender? There's plenty of precedent. What are you suspicious of?

The information is a bit sketchy but if I've understood correctly we're here parents not n the same tent with the two girls?

FrangipaniBlue · 20/10/2021 22:00

bloody autocorrect!!

*were her parents

Daisy03 · 20/10/2021 22:01

Very sad yes but it's getting a lot of coverage for a missing child as far away as Australia.

Do we hear anything about missing children in Africa for example or somewhere in Thailand where it happens regularly

SavoyCabbage · 20/10/2021 22:01

It was a big tent with rooms.

The family were there with other people who they knew and there were a lot of people staying on the campsite. Which is itself in the middle of nowhere.

Itsnotover · 20/10/2021 22:03

She's only 4. Really awful Sad
