I assumed Harry or William but the family is huge and it was only £50,000 so not a major Royal imo.

Maybe they thought that Harry/Will/Bea would be able to get their hands on such a relatively small amount without too much trouble.

I would imagine an insignifficant royal because

1. if it was anyone of any signifficance the idiots would have demanded more than 50 grand.

and 2. If it was anyone signifficant the story would have broken in the NOTW or similar rather than the times. If it was something and someone that signifficant someone would have leaked the story, they always do, because the tabloids will pay money for that kind of story.
