I doubt we would be debating mental illness had this been a father killing his children. Women/mothers are just as capable of being evil and not mentally ill - just that society finds it harder to handle.

I caught it on the news last night - the CCTV images of the children in the flat are haunting. Poor little things.

I'm wondering where social services are? Surely they will have been involved after the first death and it sounds like father had reported her to them

I get fed up with it. When women kill their kids, people are always looking for a way that at least some of the blame can be shuffled away from her. At least part of it was out if her control.

The judge said during sentencing that "there is absolutely no evidence that you suffer from any medical condition or mental disorder that might have impacted on your actions. As I would expect, your experienced legal team explored this possibility, but no expert evidence has been placed before the court."

I also agree with what the judge says here: “Your daughters did not hold you back from what you wanted to do. There was no reason for their deaths other than that you decided to end their lives."

I don't think the children got in the way of anything. She frequently left them with her family or her landlady for long periods of time. She'd even leave them alone while she went off to have sex with men. There was no real reason for killing them, I think she just got some sick pleasure from it.

Absolute scum of the earth i hope she never gets out that prison. 3 meals a day and a roof over her head is still way to accommodating.
Why on earth didn’t she hand those innocent children over to social services and give them a chance of living there lives.
So many people out there who would of loved and protected those girls raised them, educated and loved them like there very own.
Its heartbreaking.

I wish that were true. However she'll probably be advised to put herself on protection for her own safety. Saying that maybe one of the officers will "accidentally"

You didn’t know or have a relationship with your daughters so jog on touting for sympathy now- maybe if you’d been a present figure in their life this wouldn’t have happened huh?

I feel so incredibly sick to my stomach for these poor girls though. How horrific! There really is a list of couples out there who would have HAPPILY taken these little angels. All the mum had to do was take them to a local hospital/SS/police station and admit that she was a danger to them and would be leaving them here.

I wouldn’t judge any mother who did that.

Those poor girls - unimaginably horrific and awful. Their mother was sadistic, evil and unforgivable.

I'm also lacking in sympathy for their father. He never even met the younger. That means he either didn't want to, or he was so problematic himself he was denied any access rights. Either way he's got no right to play up his grief for public sympathy now, the cunt.

From what I read the father never got to meet the younger child because she moved, and gave her the surname of a boyfriend. There is nothing to suggest he dumped them on her and didn't give a fuck about them. Poor bloke.

Yep. I used to be vehemently anti death penalty but not in cases like this. The level of wrongness required for someone to do this to their own children..... she’ll never be any good to anyone and she’ll always be a danger. Lethal injection. No need to spend thousands on keeping her alive. Sorted.

Firstly, the only person responsible is the mother.

Secondly it appears she went well out her way to stop any contact. Even by giving the second daughter the name of the man she was seeing when she was born.

He also spoke to SS several times, hebwoild have only have done that if he was concerned.
