What do you all think of phone call between Yulia and cousin

Honestly I don't know about the phone calls .I'm veering on the side that they are genuine .

If she is getting better, I hope she has good protection in the hospital. Otherwise she could say what happened couldn’t she?

I don’t understand why the phone call to the cousin was recorded. It sounded odd, but maybe due to being recorded and translation didn’t sound right.

The cousin has said it is genuine - that she is 100% sure it was Yulia she spoke to. The U.K. have today refused her a visa to come visit.
I honestly don’t know what to think. Waters are very murky.

Reason given is that it does not conform to immigration rules. Well exceptional compassionate cases can be granted, so I really am wondering what the back story is on this.

I think her cousin recorded it? Given she seems to be saying that it was food poisoning I would be rather suspicious that her cousin may be compromised in some way.

The cousin said she works in finance and sometimes clients complain so she has an app that automatically records all calls.

The phone conversation seemed rather odd but I don’t know what their relationship was before this. Yulia didn’t seem that keen on her rushing over and very definitely said “ they won’t give you a visa”
On the other hand she implied her father was just sleeping and very much better and low and behold, today we get a statement from the hospital saying exactly that.
OYBK where is she ( the cousin) saying it was food poisoning. Is that because that’s what the Russian Media has been speculating?

Viktoria was reported to be suggesting it was ‘the fish what dunnit’ in several newspapers. (It seems strange that she wouldn't join all the evidence dots up.)

To me, the conversation between Yulia and Viktoria sounded stilted. Yulia would have been told not to talk about the case, which would certainly make the tenor of the conversation more guarded.

I don’t understand why Viktoria has been refused a visa to come to the UK or why the animals were just allowed to die. These decisions don't seem very humane and aren’t going to help the UK win the propaganda war.

I would imagine that Yulia will be suffering some effects of the poisioning .Would be odd if she wasn't .

I don't know why she said it, but sky news report that she claimed there was something wrong with the food saying

I don't think they feel they can trust her cousin.

The pets being left to die is very inhumane.

The house must have been thoroughly searched ,I presume several if not many people present .

What was the thinking in ignoring the presence of the animals ? Altho I guess the cat was probably in hiding ?

The cousin just sounds confused having heard all sorts of stories. It’s conceivable that she just is concerned about her relatives and their health. Not sure why she is not being allowed a visa.
Yulia must be disorientated and very slowly catching up with these massive events centred around her.

The situation with the animals is just cruel and incompetent. Just get one of those huge hopper cat food things and fill it and a litter tray? No cat flap? Did they seal it in poor thing?

So are they down playing the animals. Were they contaminated as well and suffering with the nerve agent.

I swear to god, I heard about the pets weeks ago. I said to DH, I know the pets are already known about, but I couldn't find anything...until today!

This is from the metro on the 17th March. It says the pets were taken away for tests:

But now, we're told that they have just found them in the sealed house; dead and/or starving, and the Police are being blamed for leaving them there the whole time.

But that's not true (reading the metro article)....so what's occurring???!!!!

I think the pets were taken away on 17th, it's just come back to the fore because the Russians started asking about the pets. It's another way of muddying the water.

Yes .Makes sense ,remove animals for testing.They wouldn't have just lefty them there .

But ... but ... I 'm more confused than ever! Is 'taken away for tests' a euphemism? What state were the animals in when taken away?

Did the police somehow manage to overlook the presence of a large fluffy black cat and two guinea pigs until it was too late or were the animals ok up to the point of leaving the house?

There's a lot of misinformation swirling around but if the animals are indeed no longer alive, is that a consequence of neglect on the part of the authorities, the effects of nerve agent or a consequence of animal experimentation?

From putting things together, it sounds like the animals were taken away in a bad state in around the 19th March due to neglect. But I might have put that together wrongly.
