Please sign this petition to try and prevent the defunding of women’s refuges

Earlier today it was revealed that, during 2016, 78 women women were murdered in the UK by their current or ex-partner. SEVENTY EIGHT

39 of those women had children under the age of 18.
3 of them were pregnant.

This week the Government will be voting on legislation that will impact massively on the funding of women’s refuges. If the changes go ahead many refuges will be forced to close due to lack of funds.

Yet another sad reminder of how important this is with yet another woman killed in recent days by a man she is believed to have known.

Jodie Willsher was stabbed to death as she worked at Aldi by Neville Hord, reported to be her mother's ex-boyfriend.

So sad.

But those men weren't murdered by their partners firecracker, so what's your point?

Yes the point is that all 113 women were murdered by men. I’m guessing we can count the number of men murdered by women from that group on one, maybe two, hands.
