I think anyone who voted Labour in the last election is complicit in murder

Because you knew Tony Blair lied and lied and lied to get us into that war, and now children are being killed every day, and bodies are piling up in the streets. I think he is the most vile, wicked and contemptible man in Britain. How can he sleep at night? I feel so ashamed he is our prime minister.

LOL Tuty (just you wait- 2/3 Theology next year )

bossykate · 16/04/2007 12:18

i didn't vote labour last time in protest against the war in iraq.

dejags · 16/04/2007 12:23

Tony Blair is a liar.

Simple.

Who would vote for a liar? His politics aside - the man is not honest. Clearly loads of people voted for him, so his politics are clearly more important than his integrity. This is the problem with the world these days.

It's about power. It's about world dominance. The cost of life in the Middle East is cheap because these Western warmongers (TB & GWB) have engineered a head in the sand culture in their respective countries. Women and children are dying. It's damn DISGUSTING!!! This is the reason I abstain from voting - what would be the point.

As for the person who said that Britain is better off under Labour. I totally disagree - have you read the news lately?

PeachyChocolateEClair · 16/04/2007 12:29

Sorry dejags but I think we will have to agree to disagree on that point. .

In theory you don't vote for a Prime Minister. I vote for the person I can rely on if I need to access my MP (or AM here also). For us here, thats not labour- he's very arrogant, however we have a labour rep in the EP and she is fabulous, I contacted hre about a subject related to my dissertation (on slavery) and she has been in touch with useful help and information several times (Glenys Kinnock, btw so Old Labour). I don't vote Labour generally but my experience with hre has amde me reconsider in her case (admittedly that alone).

Now, I ahve had need to access my MP on a few occasiona so maybe its more relevant to me to pick the best person for the locality than for the job of PM. But thats the theory of how the system works: you vote for your regional rep, they choose to elect their leader. And fortunately that Leader is on his way out now. Hopefully there'll be changes (not holding my breath mind...)

squeaky - you are very suitably cynical for this thread - i agree they all lie to get in then ignore us once they are in, esp. on forgein policy issues - it is very difficult knowing who to vote for because the whole thing always comes across as a big con.

i am hoping that TB and GB and their advisers, paymasters, etc. all rot in hell (if there is one ?), don't think they will ever come in front of an international court, at least that way i will be sure that there is some justice somewhere.

ruty · 16/04/2007 19:38

it still rankles me that Clinton nearly got impeached over a blow job and that Bush gets away with killing so many innocent men women and children scot free.

PeachyChocolateEClair · 16/04/2007 19:55

does seem a bit disproportionate doesn't it?

mind you that is America, Land of the Conservative South.

As someone recently pointed out (cant remember who no-one of note on here it will be intersting to see how Obama fares, and indeed if he can literallu survive- there's a lot of racist klan-alike idiots in the Southern states still

yellowrose · 16/04/2007 21:19

ruty - the man who was out to get clinton - someone called starr (the equivalent of our attorney general) was a neo-con in disguise - i bet he and his mates knew exactly what they were doing

oh dear, i am becoming too conspiratorial for my own good

ruty · 16/04/2007 21:32

they did indeed yellowrose - but how scary they got away with it to the degree that they did....

monkeytrousers · 21/04/2007 15:29

Aloha, have you taken leave of your senses?

What kind of mad conflation is that?

CaptainCaveman · 21/04/2007 15:39

Aloha are you trying to encourage people to vote? Hmmm, local elections coming up in a couple of weeks....trying to pull in a few more votes?
(tongue firmly in cheek emoticon)

suzycreamcheese · 21/04/2007 16:11

aloha, agree completely...
this is what dh always says and its true!

havent read all of this..will do

...but have to say it sickens me when 200 iraqi deaths in one day this week is skipped over on news to go rehash over US university gun man story...

its sick this whole iraq war from dodgy illegal start the intentions, implications ramifications etc...it was NOT done in my name and makes me ashamed to the core to be of this nationality..
...this country, UK is at war....ffs...

the oil is not secure if it was this would not be happening...afghanistan is another bloody disaster forall concerned.....

monkeytrousers · 22/04/2007 09:49

Well I don't, it's hysterical rubbish I'm sorry.

If you voted you are also complicit in many great things that have happened - not just this one.

If you look at pictures of dead chuldren it's bound to make you upset and get all Bob Geldof hysterical - but calling people murderers is no way to solve any problem - just add to it.
