Names of those still missing start to emerge Flowers
Nearly 80 victims being treated across six hospitals, with 15 still in critical care Flowers
Hundreds of people displaced and dispossessed, concerned about when and where they will be rehoused Flowers

Serious questions being asked about fire safety regulations, management of social housing, austerity and inequality.
Fire Brigade search of building expected to take weeks due to complexity of building, extent of fire damage and the necessity of undertaking a painstaking fingertip search.

  1. I pray they died of smoke Inhalation. The alternative doesn't even bare thinking about.
Tiredemma · 16/06/2017 16:34

I fear a riot in Kensington

user1496484020 · 16/06/2017 16:35

They're like some drunken asshole 'I'll have my lawyer call you'. Jesus Christ, how could you put up with that level of harassment? For children playing on a green?

user1496484020 · 16/06/2017 16:35

Tiredemma - I'll fucking join the riot.

11122aa · 16/06/2017 16:36

I imagine and hope most of the victims did die of smoke inhalation or were at least Unconscious before the flames got to them.

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/06/2017 16:40

Fair play to the Tyneside company - obviously they should be offered housing locally but there might well be some people who want to get away and make a fresh start. It would be pretty understandable.

What the actual fucking fuck are the tmo thinking with those letters. Did I see hand delivered? Are they trying to incite a riot?

barrygibbscheekbones · 16/06/2017 16:40

I really don't blame those local people protesting at the town hall. Good for them - the time for writing letters is over, these people were ignored or the even threatened when they complained they were living in a death trap. I'm so upset and angry about how these Kensington tenants have been treated, I can physically feel it, if that makes sense...

Saucery · 16/06/2017 16:42

You'd think all day to day admin stuff would have been shelved. You'd think. Jesus.

user1496484020 · 16/06/2017 16:46

Funny how the council officials are locked in. Wonder how it feels?

EmilyBiscuit · 16/06/2017 16:48

They are dated 14th June. 'Already in the system' won't cut it I'm afraid. Fucking awful.

Tiredemma · 16/06/2017 16:50

They appear to have stormed the building and pushed past police

user1496484020 · 16/06/2017 16:51

I actually think the poor divils should be housed in a different borough if that's the level of harassment they receive daily. Threat of legal action for ball playing? FFS.

Saucery · 16/06/2017 16:52

Not posted via RM on the 13th then? Hand delivered by council staff?

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/06/2017 16:53

It sounds like the communication just hasn't been good enough on site - I've no doubt the fire dept are doing there absolute best but the council seem to be woefully absent

RhythmAndStealth · 16/06/2017 16:54

The Guardian is covering events at the protest in detail

brexitstolemyfuture · 16/06/2017 16:55

Fair enough with the Tyneside flats, I'm usually pretty cynical about companies sharing stuff on social media to encourage shares and likes rather than just contacting the people dealing with relief but maybe for this it is justified as it's all over the place.

Is rolling news covering the town hall stuff?

EmilyBiscuit · 16/06/2017 16:57

Dated 14th - when council staff MUST have known about the massive fire. Many (most?!) will have physically seen it on their way in to work. Hand delivered on 16th - when it is blatantly obvious that dozens of people have died and hundreds displaced.

upperlimit · 16/06/2017 16:58

I don't think there is one person co-ordination the relief though. It's a patchwork of people helping. I can see how Facebook is useful in this situation.

EmilyBiscuit · 16/06/2017 16:58

Town hall stuff is on sky news and bbc news. Don't know about other news.

Dowser · 16/06/2017 16:59

Shocked at the insensitivity

RhythmAndStealth · 16/06/2017 16:59

Not posted, hand delivered by TMO Saucery.

A few seemed to get past the police then. Feel for the regular admin staff in the building tbh, it's scary enough when one person is angry at your company and wants to blame anyone who is present (I worked in a role shortly after someone in the same role was shot in my area)

upperlimit · 16/06/2017 17:00

Sorry, I was watching the news and typing. I meant co-ordinating the relief.
