Is anyone reminded of the last scene of the last episode of Power Monkeys where the communications manager is talking to a Trump crowd and accidentally gets them chanting "Kill Hillary"? I don't think it would be that hard to do.

As a Fox commentator said last night, he probably intended to get the 90 million US gun owners to worry about Hillary removing their Second Amendment rights, which she has not even said she will do

Yeah, well... Fox News always succintly back him. Saying that 90 million US gun owners are going to "worry" about Hillary and their guns means it only needs one deep south Trump sheep saying "doggone, that there woman is gonna take my guns, I'm gonna make sure that doesn't happen dammit".

He suggested something Claig and there's no getting away from that whatever you say.

'He suggested something Claig and there's no getting away from that whatever you say.'

I agree he should never even have suggested or mentioned it.

Fox doesn't always back him, most of them are not for him on there. This was a guest, Kelly someone, I think, who said that.

So do you still support him and his "gaffes"?

'So do you still support him and his "gaffes"?'

Yes, I support him, but not his gaffes.

'Still think he should be President?'

Of course, just like the millions of other Trump supporters.

I'm beginning to think rationality is pointless but:

"There needs to be an uprising by Quakers against these new regulations " is not the same as "There needs to be an uprising by neo-Nazis against these new regulations"

'What would he have to do to make you think WTAF?'

If he said manmade climate change was real, that would be the final straw for me.

I agree he should never even have suggested or mentioned it.

The point is not that he has said something by mistake. The point is that he thinks that someone deciding to use a gun to solve a problem that goes against Trump's interests is something he is willing to mull over. The point is that there is something fundamentally wrong with the guy and anyone seeing this and still supporting him really should reflect on this.

Yes yoda I agree but why does it appeal to people so much?

The "gaffes" are him. How can you excuse them? How can you still support him? He is a rascist. The KKK support him because "what he believes in, we believe in". That says all you need to know. He is a mysogonist. Too many examples to quote.

Was the rubbishing of a grieving mother of a son who died fighting for the US just a gaffe too?

He is objectionable, a man full of hate and it's beyond me to understand anyone's reasons for supporting him.

One thing I do know though. There is no point in trying to make someone who supports him despite what he stands for, see reason, because such beliefs are too entrenched.

How can a man like that get to be the nominee ratified by the Republican Party?

He is so used to getting things his way, saying what he wants and doing what he wants that none of this will dent his arrogance.

As a President? How dangerous. He cannot be expected to negotiate in the Middle East, Palestine, China, Latin America, Russia, Iran, North Korea.

If he win's and let's face it he can win this world becomes a lot more dangerous economically and physically.

What does this man have to do? Wipe his bum on old glory? Poison mickey mouse? Punch Ronald McDonald? Watching him is like watching The Producers!

And that's it is it? That's bad enough but all the other "gaffes" are OK. You are still with the man and his racism, his hate and all that he stands for?

God help you. And the US to be honest.

I am hoping/thinking/praying that the wheels are coming off the wagon slowly but surely. Who you claig and people like you vote for affects the whole world. And in case you were under any illusion, in a bad way.

I am not a US voter. It depends what the American people decide. I don't think Trump is racist, I agree with Democrat Geraldo, who has known him for years, that he isn't racist, and I expect the majority of the millions of Trump supporters think the same. I think he will win. The polls that have been coming out recently are said to be skewed by some commentators.

Trump has had this success precisely because of how he is. People want change and I think they will elect him, but we will have to wait and see.

It's your typical claig tactic, spout the rubbish until it simply makes no sense and then do the "I was only joking!!!" post to signal that some parts of the argument were not advanced sincerely.

't's your typical claig tactic, spout the rubbish until it simply makes no sense'

No, I have said I don't care about his gaffes, and I suspect that the majority of Trump voters won't either because no one takes a lot of what he says seriously.

If he sold out the people on what he says he believes (climate change, trade, jobs etc), then people will abandon him. He may still do that, we will have to wait and see.

Report
JudyCoolibar · 10/08/2016 13:49

Yes, I support him, but not his gaffes.

You cannot separate him from his gaffes. They are not something that happens to him, they are totally within his control. He must know that it is completely unacceptable to go round suggesting that murder is the answer to a political problem, yet he did it. Can you conceivably countenance the possibility of putting a gaffe-prone man in charge of the nuclear button? Are you comfortable with the prospect of "Oops, my hand slipped, sorry I just killed several billion people, it was just another gaffe, silly me"?

If he said manmade climate change was real, that would be the final straw for me.

Oh, right. Tell people to go out and assassinate the elected President of the US, that's fine with claig. Say that manmade climate change is real, totally unacceptable.

Even if that wasn't meant to be serious, claig, this is not a subject you can joke about.
