I'm starting to think maybe if you have to ask if you're part of The Establishment then you aren't. A bit like the shop/ designed where if your have to ask how much then you can't afford it.

TheDowagerCuntess · 10/08/2016 19:38

Good question. This is a conundrum. Trump says he has " a very high IQ", I don't know, I haven't seen the certificate, but he does make lots of elementary gaffes and has holes in his knowledge, so I can't explain the conundrum.

Your exact words on the other thread were that 'we all know he has a very high IQ'.

No. We don't all know it. There is no conundrum. He might be media savvy, but he is most definitely not an intelligent man.

In fact, he is quite stupid - as he displays internationally on an almost daily basis. its there for all of us to see.

claig · 10/08/2016 19:41

'Your exact words on the other thread were that 'we all know he has a very high IQ'.'

That was tongue in cheek because we all know of his stupid gaffes.

'In fact, he is quite stupid'

He does do stupid things, but I just can't believe that he got to being a billionaire and to be Republican nominee by being stupid, but maybe he really is, though I can't imagine how he could be.

TheDowagerCuntess · 10/08/2016 19:41

P.S. Trumps says a lot of things.

If you're just taking them all at total, unquestioning face value, I can see why you think he's so great.

Major insight into why you support him.

MiriamKarlin · 10/08/2016 19:41

Ailicece The fascists are the ones currently blowing up half of Arabia, taking women into sexual slavery, beheading those who do not want to join them, they've had a go in France, Belgium, Nice and other parts of Europe and continue to push their fascist agenda. If you want an insight into what true fascism is, that is it.

claig · 10/08/2016 19:43

'If you're just taking them all at total, unquestioning face value, I can see why you think he's so great. '

No, I have said that Trump supporters ignore the gaffes and stupid things he says because they don't believe half of what Trump says.

TheDowagerCuntess · 10/08/2016 19:45

Wow. So they don't believe half of what he says? They know he's lying?

So they cherry pick what to believe, with no basis for thinking it has any truth whatsoever?!

claig · 10/08/2016 19:46

'So they cherry pick what to believe, with no basis for thinking it has any truth whatsoever?!'

Yes, I think so. That is why none of his gaffes have any effect on him.

TheDowagerCuntess · 10/08/2016 19:49

So people are voting for him because he's a 'bit of a character', and because he's sticking two fingers up at the elite (which he is, more than anyone) and the establishment.

Not because they think he has the first clue about how to lead a country or actually get anything productive done?

UncontrolledImmigrant · 10/08/2016 19:50

I am pretty sure words don't mean anything anymore, and that facts are irrelevant to a discussion

Bring on the idiocracy, I guess Confused

Yes Claig.

To me Trump very often comes across tongue in cheek and there is a natural comedian in his delivery. I have just watched the The Stump for Trump sisters and yes, I agree they are entertaining and naturally funny.

This is something very different to what we are used to from the establishment types. I'm watching with interest.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 10/08/2016 19:51

I may have missed anyone reacting to this mid thread but Want2b said she could never vote for anyone whose first words were Spanish.
Why? What? In case they're born to immigrant parents? Hmm

TheDowagerCuntess · 10/08/2016 19:53

This is something very different to what we are used to from the establishment types.

Yes, it's called campaigning on lies, gaffes and not knowing what the hell you're talking about. Watch on 👍🏼

claig · 10/08/2016 19:53

I think it is both. I think it is as NotYoda implied. People know that Trump is a successful businessman who is an outsider and not a politician and that all the politicians are against him, so they think he will use no nonsense business ways to clean up the corruption and sort things out, clean house of the cronies, and restore jobs and prosperity for the people.

He is an outsider so he has no political favours to pay and can clean house and sort the crooks out.

Showmethewaytogohome · 10/08/2016 19:53

Miriam thanks for the insults. I won't report you as I don't have thin skin (unlike some including Trump) You may want to look up the meaning of a lot of them as I am not sure I have ever been authoritarian or any other of them really big words you used

Errmmm perhaps I'm just a really good fascist spotter?

Lweji · 10/08/2016 19:54

That was tongue in cheek because we all know of his stupid gaffes.

And there it goes. Grin

When caught out, it's a joke.

claig · 10/08/2016 19:55

Yes, Inkanta, it is truly fascinating. This is the biggest revolution we have ever witnessed. Trump intends to take down the elites. If he succeeds, everything will change and common sense will return.

Showmethewaytogohome · 10/08/2016 19:56

Oh and Miriam yep them there Islamic Fundamentalists also fit into the profile of fascist - but to a point. Generally history has shown most fascists take over democracies through legal means in the West. You can't change the historical facts....or the scary parallels.

Lweji · 10/08/2016 19:57

Trump intends to take down the elites.

Sigh.

He IS elite.

Showmethewaytogohome · 10/08/2016 19:59

And there we have it - the Elites are taking down the elites. Hurrahh! and the people will be? Fucked? But that doesn't matter cos he is for the people right?

And we continue the circular conversations that always happen when fascist such as Trump, Farage et al are discussed. Just find a wall and hit your head on it

TheDowagerCuntess · 10/08/2016 20:03

Trump is an elite.

How can you say he's about 'common sense' you admit he makes stupid gaffes all the time, and half of what's said isn't even believed by his own supporters...?

TheDowagerCuntess · 10/08/2016 20:04

Common sense to yer man, is building a wall, and getting the Mexicnas to pay for it.

TwoLeftSocks · 10/08/2016 20:06

So what will happen if Trump turns out to be the biggest crook of the lot, driven by publicity and profit?

Ailicece · 10/08/2016 20:07

Miriamkarlin oh dear.

Yes, ISIS is a huge problem (largely created by Western policy over the last few decades) but closing our eyes to the very real rise of fascism across the Western World only makes it worse. Blaming "others" is typical. That's EXACTLY how Hitler got to power. History all over again, tragically. You (and millions of others across Europe and America) are playing right into their hands.
