I mainly post on In the News and Politics due to the fact that otherwise I would not have any time to do anythng else, but I also occasionally post on AIBU, Education and Chat and I used to spend hours and hours posing on the Women's Rights section back in the days when dittany was on here and sakura and a lot of other posters whom I can't remember anymore because that was several years ago. If I didn't limit my posting, I would end up not having time to get any work done. MN is great, but it is an addiction that has to be controlled.

You are right, LineyReborn, and if Trump ends up as President, it will be one hell of a 4 year term. Trump held a press conference yesterday at 9 pm to show the American people how presidential he would be. He is going to tear through the Establishment, bring jobs back to America, put America and Americans first and he is going to do it very quickly. He is not one of the usual politicians "all talk no action". He will unite America and bring jobs back for everyone and he will give the global elite such hell that they are already panicking and their news outlets are already screaming "he must be stopped". But you can't stop America and the American people won't be folled and stopped by the BBC, the New York Times, the Guardian, the Economist and Davos, they are taking their country back and te elites are going to get hell.

You have seen our political class and how they pretend to us that they are going to tell Amazon and Google who the boss is in their Parliamentary Sessions where they ask their bosses "how much do you earn?" as if that will change anything.

The world will have seen nothing like it. Trump will get things done for America and the American people and the great thing it will help us here too because our political class will have to start hitching a ride on the Trump Train instead of pretending and posturing that they could ban him. I think he's correct - they don't necessarily deserve to be heard most.

But I see the hypocrisy in the statement too coming as it does from Tony Blair because New Labour was notorious for developing the "we're listening" approach to government which boiled down to "we don't have any convictions about what is right and wrong but we want to be in government, So, if the mob tells us what they want then we'll do it."

Blair sounds like he is not a fan of democracy. He thinks he can determine who deserves to be heard as if we have to ask his permission. The people voted in their droves for Trump. The only reason Blair was constantly heard was because the BBC and the Establishment media always put him on TV.

But now in the age of twitter and social media, the people can bypass the Establishment media and avoid Blair's preaching and pronouncements and decide among themselves whether they prefer Blair or Trump.
