What a pair. Her endorsement speech yesterday was just bonkers - words just fail me when it comes to Donald Trump.

Is this the best America has to offer?

' most of the Republican Party dislike Cruz'

Sorry should be most of the Republican elite, not the Party.

The Republican base do like Cruz because of his real conservative message. However, I believe he would cave in to the elite if he won the race.

FatherReboolaConundrum · 22/01/2016 19:44

None of that is accurate, though, claig - except the fact that the Republican elite will do what they need to do in order to shut Trump down if he doesn't self-destruct first.

And no-one is coming round to Trump. Dole dislikes Cruz more than Trump but has said he is a strong supporter of Jeb! (and what does that say about the value of his political judgements...). A prominent GOP consultant has said that Trump supporters have "plenty of Hitler iconography" on their Twitter accounts and are "“mostly childless single men who masturbate to anime.” And this is the next issue of The National Review, the most prominent right wing magazine in the US. The list of writers is like a who's who of the US rightwing commentariat. If you've got Glenn Beck writing about how terrible you are, you've got a problem.

FatherReboolaConundrum · 22/01/2016 19:52

Cross posted again! If you think Glenn Beck is 'establishment' then your category of 'establishment' is so wide as to be meaningless.

One last thing before I go - neither Cruz nor Rubio are 'very clever'. Rubio's maiden speech in the Senate is excruciatingly stupid. The fact that with his (relative) youth, (relative) looks, blue collar background and hard right credentials, and (relative) charisma he's not doing much better is testament to his ineptitude as a politician. I still think he could end up with the nomination, though.

claig · 22/01/2016 19:54

'Dole dislikes Cruz more than Trump but has said he is a strong supporter of Jeb! (and what does that say about the value of his political judgements...).'

Yes because Jeb is Establishment and was the Establishment's anointed one who the Wall Street backers plowed millions into thinking he would become the Republican nominee and then be a "ringer" as one of Trump's former adviser called him i.e. that he would end up deliberately losing to Hillary so that the Establishment game could continue. But, Trump has put a spanner in their works. They laughed him off, called him a joke, but they aren't laughing anymore as Trump has single-handedly destroyed Jeb and his millions.

Yes but that GOP hack works for the Establishment candidates and they are desperate to stop Trump who tops the polls among Republican voters.

'The list of writers is like a who's who of the US rightwing commentariat. If you've got Glenn Beck writing about how terrible you are, you've got a problem.'

Yes, but they are Establishment conservatives not populists like Trump. Glen Beck, in my opinion, is a phoney conservative, an act, in fact an attempt by the Establishment to imitate conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, but make him more palatable. Beck is against Trump, but I don't think that real conservative voters will be fooled by him, I think it is Trump all the way for the realordinary conservative voters. Won't be fooled again. No more "ringers", no no RINOs (Republicans in name only), no more puppets, no more Establishment pawns.

claig · 22/01/2016 19:56

'If you think Glenn Beck is 'establishment' then your category of 'establishment' is so wide as to be meaningless.'

The Establishment are not stupid, they use phoneys and RINos to fool the real decent American conservative people so that they can put losers in who are controlled so that the financial looting of the public can continue.

Cruz says he is anti-establishment, Beck says it, but Palin (the real darling of real conservatives) has stood by Trump. It's Trump to the end for real conservatives because Trump is really anti the establishment and that is why they fear him so much.

FatherReboolaConundrum · 22/01/2016 20:00

claig your description of Beck as a RINO has just made my evening Grin yes I am a sad US politics nerd

Have a good weekend, I'm off to have some Wine.

claig · 22/01/2016 20:00

'One last thing before I go - neither Cruz nor Rubio are 'very clever'. Rubio's maiden speech in the Senate is excruciatingly stupid. '

No, I have watched all of the debates and i have been extremely impressed by all of the Republican candidates. Some are more decent than others and some are more clever than others. But all of them are clever, there are no Nick Cleggs in the US system. They are all top people, extremely gifted and the US system is a real battle, extremely gruelling where candidates are scrutinised and interviewed for a whole year before the public can choose. You have to be good to go through that and Trump has defeated all of the "career politicians" who have more knowledge and experience than him, not because they are stupid, but because he is brilliant and better even than them.

claig · 22/01/2016 20:02

'I'm off to have some' Wine

Enjoy it and don't miss the last debate before Iowa on the 28th. It will be the Establishment's last chance to beat Trump and they will try everything they have got left.

'Glenn Beck's Shtick? Alex Jones Got There First

'He rips me off and spins the information, often injecting lies into the truth,' says Jones

Long before he inadvertently brought an end to a popular sitcom by hosting last week’s mega-viral interview with Charlie Sheen, talk-radio host Alex Jones established himself as a giant in America’s conspiracy subculture. The godfather of the 9/11 Truth Movement, Jones is the most popular chronicler of what he believes is a New World Order plot to enslave the global population.

Meet Alex Jones, the Talk Radio Host Behind Charlie Sheen's Crazy Rants

Until recently, he was a lonely and little-known voice in the short wave and Internet radio wilderness. But as his audience has grown, other talk show hosts have taken notice — and cues. Among his most ardent imitators is Glenn Beck, whom Jones has accused of stealing his ideas, guests, and research. Last week, Jones posted a video clip on his site, InfoWars, offering evidence of this theft."

www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/glenn-becks-shtick-alex-jones-got-there-first-20110304

The Establishment panic when they see the people not listening to their news broadcasts and not swallowing their shtick and it is then that they create phonies to imitate others in order to fool and deceive and lead the people up a losing path.

In my opinion, Beck is an Establishment creation, an act.

Everybody knows that Cruz, clever as he is, cannot beat hillary because Cruz does not appeal to the American people. That is why Bob Dole calls Cruz "cataclysmic" for the Republican Party. The fact that Glenn Beck backs Cruz over trump tells you everything you need to know about Beck.

Only Trump can defeat Hillary and only because Trump is fearless and not politically correct and will tell so many shocking truths about Bill Clinton etc that Cruz, the so-called anti-establishment conservative, would never dare say.

LittleMamaJama · 22/01/2016 21:13

Kiss of Death. And so it should be.

LittleMamaJama · 22/01/2016 21:22

celeste83- If only Mitt Romney had agreed to stand, I wouldn't have minded a Republican in the White House. This whole lot look like they belong in Bedlam
Hillary messed up big time with Benghazi and ''the Bern'' is not getting a fair deal re: exposure.

Crankycunt · 22/01/2016 21:23

Palin makes me sick. Blaming her sons domestic violence on Obama, when it was Bush that put him there and Obama wanting to give returning soldiers the help the need and deserve

Crankycunt · 22/01/2016 21:28

Gah pressed post too soon.

Palin makes me sick. Blaming her sons domestic violence on Obama, when it was Bush that put him there and Obama wanting to give returning soldiers the help the need and deserve when he brought them home. It was the Republicans Palins very own party that vetod the bill.

The only people I know that believe that he has any chance of winning, are uneducated rednecks. The ones that believe that the left want to take their guns, abort all their babies and give their jobs to illegal workers.

fourmummy · 22/01/2016 23:04

The markets are in a bad way. Very dangerous because it may end up in wars as the big fish who own the political class start losing real money and want to grab other people's money. Europe and the EU are over in my opinion, it is just a matter of time. I think the big fish have taken a decision to destabilise Europe and end the EU. Just been discussing something similar with DH. It could be that the elites have taken their money out already...that's was what quantitative easing, zero interest rates, rescuing Greece, Spain, Italy was all about; a chance for them to sell their stocks, bonds, property into a market pumped to pre 2008 highs with tax payer money. The best outcome now is for a proper global crash, debt to be written off, and war is just the thing for that. Once this is out of the way, they can start buying assets on the cheap again, charge billions to rebuild cities (infrastructure, homes, factories ), manufacture latest consumer junk with a dirt cheap (starving and destitute) labour force. Wash, Rinse, Repeat..

claig · 22/01/2016 23:44

I am beginning to think that there are different factions battling it out. Debts are being called in and some factions are probably bankrupt and would prefer war to escape from the mess. Let's hope the anti war faction wins. I think that Trump is part of the anti-war faction (the faction that will work with Russia to defeat the sponsors of Jihadi terrorism), but I may be wrong.

ExitPursuedByABear · 22/01/2016 23:48

Well if you don't know what's going on Claig we are all doomed.

claig · 22/01/2016 23:50

The financial crash of markets is already creating losers. I think there will be some very big losers who don't want to lose and will try to save themselves by taking down lots of countries in wars.

Someone is going to lose, let's hope it's not the ordinary people of the world who have nothing to do with any of it. Let's hope the anti-war faction wins and puts the criminals responsible in jail.

claig · 22/01/2016 23:53

'Well if you don't know what's going on Claig we are all doomed. '

No because all of us haven't really got much of a clue, we can only guess from the controlled BBC reports we see and the newspaper articles we read. We don't really know more than a fraction of what the big fish really do.

But there are responsible people at the top who do know, along with the criminals up there as well. I am optimistic that the good guys will win. I hope Trump is one of the good guys and that he will sort it out and take the criminals down.

Chippednailvarnish · 22/01/2016 23:54

I may start fundraising to help Canada build the wall that was mentioned earlier on this thread.

claig · 23/01/2016 00:06

'that's was what quantitative easing'

We are hearing from some of the Davos elite that the central banks are running out of weapons, no more QE, interest rates already on the floor. For seven years they used the public's money to bail out the bankers and their bosses, but now they seem to be running out of options. They may have just postponed the disaster by handing over public money over those 7 years and the economy is now again suffering the shocks of the Chinese slowdown and the stock market collapses.

The current elites have failed the people which is why we are seeing populist insurgencies all over Europe and now in the United States as well.

Hopefully, the new governments that will replace teh current lot will be able to do a better job and sort things out without clobbering the people yet again and this time clobbering the fat cat criminals instead.

VertigoNun · 23/01/2016 00:26

I can't remember such bad times on a global scale. It feels very dark times are going to continue for some time to come.

SilverHawk · 23/01/2016 22:58

Well, well, well, now Bloomberg is putting his head above the parapet!
Interesting...Very.
Come on Claig

claig · 23/01/2016 23:31

'Well, well, well, now Bloomberg is putting his head above the parapet'

Yes, I said that Bloomberg might enter on the other thread.

The talk is that Hillary may be indicted and may not be able to run or may still go ahead and run anyway but be badly damaged. the talk is that Biden may have to step in and Bloomberg too.

They are saying that Bloomberg may stand as an independent. But that is good news for Trump because Trump voters will never abandon Trump, we are Trump all the way to the end because we are all against political correctness and anyone who can end political correctness is our candidate. So Bloomberg can only take Democrats and independents from the Democrats.

The rumours about where th eleaks are really coming from about Hillary's emails are also absolutely fascinating. Lots of analysts saying that Obama can't stand Hillary. The skullduggery is amazing.

But, Trumpites know that Trump will win and then wait and see big fish going to jail for what they have done to America, the people and the world.

claig · 23/01/2016 23:42

BBC reports from America to elites worldwide just engender more panic among the elite classes

'Is Donald Trump now unstoppable?'
...
So it's hard to overstate the significance of what has been unfolding over the past few days. It is the grudging acceptance by significant parts of the Republican establishment that not only is Mr Trump the least worst option - he is virtually unstoppable in the race to be their candidate.
...
Let me say that again. Unless there is a seismic shift in polling, Donald Trump stands to be nominated as the Republican candidate for the 2016 general election. Potentially the first ever president who has never held elected office or been in the military.
...
Because these are the very grandees who commissioned the exhaustive research after the 2012 defeat about how the GOP needed to connect with the ethnic minorities, women and disadvantaged. All groups that - it could be argued - that Mr Trump has been alienating with his rhetoric.

But what he's tapped into is something bigger, which is the profound and visceral anger felt by so many towards that amorphous thing in Washington, "the establishment".

It was brilliantly put by Edward Luce when writing in the FT about Mr Trump's appearance in Iowa earlier this week with Sarah Palin, someone cut from similar cloth: "The more tongue-tied Mrs Palin seemed, the more intently her supporters backed her. The more the media mocked her, the more her fan base exulted. Mr Trump has elevated that approach into an art form. In an age when knowledge is a mark of elitism, ignorance is power. It is also great marketing."

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-35388292

Trump has defeated them all - all the modernisers, all the phoney conservatives, all the RINOs, all the Establishment stooges. Their politically correct shtick has failed and the Republican base has flipped their finger at the whole lot of them. All the elites now have to do a deal with Trump, but it will be on Trump's terms and there are going to be huge changes in America and the whole world.

Elites and puppets are in meltdown, the people are on the rise in a populist insurgency that will change the entire world.
