VertigoNun · 15/01/2016 18:18

This has been posted before too. www.debbonaire.co.uk/welcoming_refugees_and_protecting_women_from_sexual_assault

HelpTheAnimalsFirst · 15/01/2016 18:19

Vertigo Petition has become shorter. Nope.

SonyaAtTheSamovar · 15/01/2016 18:20

Polenta as always the scandal part is not the crime but the cover up!

polentapies · 15/01/2016 18:24

No it's the thought of these lovely people welcoming all these refugees, bringing gifts and food and clothes, which could be then interpreted as, 'Yes please grope my breasts and genitals, it's just what I came here for"

Vertigo

Version 4, 299 characters.

On New Year’s Eve, women across Europe were subjected to an organised form of group sexual assault. UK women must be free to travel, work and live without intimidation and sexual violence. We ask the Government to enforce measures to uphold women's rights and the punishment of group sexual assault.

OP posts:
WillBeatJanuaryBlues · 15/01/2016 18:30

Today the council official responsible for the integration of refugees in the Cologne region admitted organisers knew about the sex attacks at the event but did not want to make a fuss

Make a fuss Angry.

She also shockingly said she "cannot remember" whether she advised the women who were attacked to go to the police, but added she felt the event's student organisers "had learned from the situation".

Hmm

And Germany is a leading country in Europe!!

We/ they are not safe in such peoples hands.

WillBeatJanuaryBlues · 15/01/2016 18:31

I think we should all email dimbley at question time.

Pinkchampchoccies · 15/01/2016 18:33

'And the prevention of group sexual assault'
Maybe rather than punishment? Just a thought.

whataboutbob · 15/01/2016 18:38

I really have the sense that Germany is trying to atone for its 20th century crimes by being undiscriminately and overly nice to foreigners, no matter what their credentials.

HelpTheAnimalsFirst · 15/01/2016 18:40

Yes, that's exactly it. We have German guilt going on, backed up by White guilt (usually the ultra Left).

MamaMary · 15/01/2016 18:41

Agree Pink. Remove 'punishment' and replace with 'prevent'

SonyaAtTheSamovar · 15/01/2016 18:47

There is an article on left wing apologism by Bonny Brooks at the World Post, part of Huff Post. I can't do links, apologies.

polentapies · 15/01/2016 18:50

We can't prove it was organised. It will be seen as xenophobic.

And the mentioning punishment is not on

polentapies · 15/01/2016 18:53

On New Year's Eve, women across the EU were subjected to mass assault.
UK women must be free to travel, work and live without intimidation or sexual violence.
We ask the government to debate and enforce measures to safeguard women's rights irrespective of religious or cultural traditions.

HelpTheAnimalsFirst · 15/01/2016 18:54

Punishment out.
Hate out.
Punishment out.
Cultural in.
Prevent in.

OP posts:
venusinscorpio · 15/01/2016 19:00

Agree with last version with "prevention".

WillBeatJanuaryBlues · 15/01/2016 19:11

I like Polentapies version.

I think it must link - hint - at the cultural aspect here.

and rather than traditions cultural NORMS? Normalities?

WillBeatJanuaryBlues · 15/01/2016 19:15

I think too many words are being wasted with " on new years eve" as well.

Can that be cut down to something like

" Across Europe Its Fast Transpiring women are being subjected to mass assault in conjunction with the increase of migrants"

or ^ without the migrant?

as new attacks are being revealed all the time?

MariscallRoad · 15/01/2016 19:18

Vertigo and Polenta thanks for the work you do. There were several sex assaults. These were carried out by several groups outside the Cologne station and inside the station as it was revealed today. The groups were around many hours until 4 am of the 1st January. I feel the wording possibly could use plural like sex assaults by groups. I will think of this again and post views.

Pinkchampchoccies · 15/01/2016 19:18

If we go with the cultural traditions version, I'd suggest saying cultural 'practices'.

Sorry am not able to spend much time on it but will glance at the screen every now and then tonight. Thanks

Just to reiterate I am utterly disgusted at the asylum home manager / refugee manager to have said the girls learned their lesson.

I hope the students will take her to court.

WillBeatJanuaryBlues · 15/01/2016 19:18

Across Europe its transpiring women are being subjected to mass assault in a pattern never seen before. We the women of the UK ask you our Government to reassure us you are aware and taking steps to prevent such atrocities on our soil. Women must be free to work, travel, and enjoy themselves without fear of such attacks

Pinkchampchoccies · 15/01/2016 19:20

Or attitudes instead of practices but I'll stay out of it for now, you are all doing a great job! again Thanks

Room101isWhereIUsedToLive · 15/01/2016 19:29

Page four AnnaForbes said that she was willing to start the petition.
Anna, may I suggest that you do that, using whichever wording you prefer and will fit within the character count etc?
