Thread 6.

OP posts:
VertigoNun · 15/01/2016 23:55

I understand and when you deliver the petition to them you talk about safety/rights interchangeable.

travellingpeople · 16/01/2016 00:00

So what is the consensual view? I am quite hardcore but will go with democratic decision

VertigoNun · 16/01/2016 00:04

My guess is that the others have gone to sleep.

There seemed a lot of support for rights.

Cellardoor1 · 16/01/2016 00:08

Im wondering what the agenda is of the posters on this and the other threads who seem so angry that women are discussing this issue? Apparently it is preferable to victim blame, insult others and deflect the issue back to all men than to actually discuss the very relevent issue of culture in these attacks.

I'm also questioning the point of participating in threads when you continually ignore questions posed to you and ignore any points that don't validate your own stance.

If you don't agree with the petition, don't sign it. Personally I think it's great.

venusinscorpio · 16/01/2016 00:11

Please go with rights if you want consensus. Most people have said that they think it is the better political term. Safety can really be boiled down to us being told to have a man with us at all times, stay at home etc. Rights are a much stronger and more powerful concept.

travellingpeople · 16/01/2016 00:13

Vertigo,i know but we want to appeal to men too, they are more likely to be instinctively protective about girls and womens safety than about eh cultural marxist induced rights

MamaMary · 16/01/2016 00:14

Id like to stress that this is about rights, not just safety.

It's about not having our rights eroded. I can't stress this enough.

Looking forward to signing it tomorrow.

Night night all

VertigoNun · 16/01/2016 00:14

I think the far right Men will sign this the way the mail are whipping things up. We have to get this out very soon.

travellingpeople · 16/01/2016 00:16

Venus,we might go with " rights" but for gen pop it is woolly, we need men on board so "safety" is better"No way can we stop what is coming doqn the pipe on our own"

VertigoNun · 16/01/2016 00:16

If you don't want to do it tonight, there is someone else interested who pm ed me,they cannot do it until tomorrow. I am tired.

venusinscorpio · 16/01/2016 00:17

It is not woolly. But you do it how you think is best. You've asked, and we've given our feedback. Your call, if you're starting it.

MariscallRoad · 16/01/2016 00:21

Rights i feel is more meaningful word than safety. It is a broad concept encompassing safety. Our rights to freedom are the most important.

travellingpeople · 16/01/2016 00:25

Ok will do tomorrow, we need women and men getting behind this.If we alienate men then we are on our own. Why have the famous feminists not been speaking out ? Why did the german govt try to hide this? Why has my mp not replied to my mail? The guys who committed the assaults are just usefule idiots im afraid.

MariscallRoad · 16/01/2016 00:25

When you say you have a right to free movement you also subordinate the right to be safe to do so.

VertigoNun · 16/01/2016 00:29

Travelling, it's ok I have someone else other than I think it was Ann, interested. The person who pmed me just can't do anything until tomorrow afternoon.

If we can get the three box's ready for the misery third bus that would be good.

They will need emails and names to cover the five to start the petition too.

The links etc all in one place, maybe on a chat holding thread someone can start?

I am going to sleep now.

Night all.

MariscallRoad · 16/01/2016 00:29

Traveling I feel the answer to Why did the german govt try to hide this? might be that there are strong financial interests behind and invisible hands.

VertigoNun · 16/01/2016 00:30

Mystery third bus

CalmYoBadSelf · 16/01/2016 00:36

I prefer rights to safety. I think it just sounds more professional and having rights would lead to safety but you can be safe without having rights as others have said.

I have spoken to a few friends today, all are happy to sign and share the petition when it gets going and are shocked at how they have not heard about this

Forced by who travelling? I wish I understood more about these things (although I suspect we all think that!)

travellingpeople · 16/01/2016 01:00

Hi calm yo bad self 😀
I think in 2010 she said publicly that "multiculturism had failed"
Then she does this
Makes no sense

emilybohemia · 16/01/2016 01:05

Fleeing war is not jihad. What would you do if you were being bombed or starved?

Leaders of Europe are mostly discouraging refugees actually and building border fences, apart from a few that have shown humnanity.

I'm not sure what reference Ottoman rulers have to any of this but 'certain cultures do not mix' reminds me of the kind of stuff Hitler or Milosevic came out with.

It is odd, finding these views on Mumsnet and quite sinister.

travellingpeople · 16/01/2016 01:08

I dont know who is behind it.
I know Peter Sutherland, ex att gen ireland, goldman sachs man, un special envoy on migrat ion said that " the eu should be undermining national hegemony" or words to that effect. Who benefits from destruction of nation states? I dont know, but immigration is a good way to do it.

travellingpeople · 16/01/2016 01:14

Emily get a grip.
Who is " fleeing war"?
None of the ones in Europe
Thank god Cameron took real refugees from the camps in Lebanon etc Even they were "safe" but are the nearest to refugees you can get.
What is "sinister" about cultures not mixing?
It is true,Ive stayed in a few cultures, and never the twain shall meet.

Cellardoor1 · 16/01/2016 01:28

Moroccans and Algerians are not fleeing war. They constituted the bulk of the attackers arrested so far in Cologne. The fact is, it's too easy for criminals and terrorists as well as economic migrants to take advantage of the situation as is it now and gain access to Europe.
