Thread 6.

OP posts:
travellingpeople · 15/01/2016 21:49

Hi Widow,
I agree with you,but was tailoring reply to the new phenomenon seen in Cologne. That type of gang assault seems to be imported.Ive never been harrassed by a gang of men here in UK.Yet.

AnnaForbes · 15/01/2016 21:52

Just catching up. I am willing to start the petition. I like travelling's first line "The EU authorities response to the recent mass sexual assaults on innocent girls and women is deplorable. We need a striking start to our petition. Change.org recommend a short, eye-catching headline, then an expansion beneath.

LumelaMme · 15/01/2016 21:52

Lumela, your response to WidowWadman was very unpleasant.
emily, that was a genuine comment - it is TOO MUCH to ask someone to read literally thousands of posts.

Did I say, 'RTFT, dearie and then get back to us'? No. I said it was too much to ask and answered her question. What else do you want me to do? Lay out a red carpet? Spend so much time clarifying that I end up saying nothing?

God almighty.
You are, yourself, immensely rude. You get personal when backed into a corner ('prejudiced' and 'bigoted', used by you, of me, when I objected to being called a racist.) You don't answer questions, on this thread or on your own.

I can only conclude that you assume that everyone else is as ill-intentioned as you seem to be.

Have a whole packet of Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit

rumbleinthrjungle · 15/01/2016 21:52

Widow, that's been debated in great detail throughout the past five threads. You can find the links at the top of each thread including this ones if you want to scan back.

VertigoNun · 15/01/2016 21:53

Change.org is a mistake in my opinion. They only debate on gov petitions.

travellingpeople · 15/01/2016 21:54

Vertigo Nun,
I would be willing to start petition
I dont have a job to lose as I am a widow with private income
I do have a 14 yr old daughter though.and I can see what is coming down the pipe
How do you start the petition,

Wordsaremything · 15/01/2016 21:57

I like travelling's opening line too but am on iPad and hard to cut and paste...

VertigoNun · 15/01/2016 21:58

Thank you

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/check

I have several emails I can pm you.

I have also been given other advice I can pass on via pm.Smile

TwistedReach · 15/01/2016 21:58

I think when you ask muslim women to join your campaign, that you should add that the op of this thread will not even speak to women wearing bhurkas because she thinks that they think they are better than her and are rude.

AnnaForbes · 15/01/2016 22:00

Travelling, you can go to petition.parliament.uk. Im on there at the moment looking at what we need to do. We need 5 different supporters/email addresses. If you start it, I will support you. I too am happy to start it though am about to drag my 3 dcs up to bed so will be off line for a while.

WidowWadman · 15/01/2016 22:02

Ah right. So I'm late to the party and should shut up, rumble? What I scanned through on this and the other threads was full to the brim of xenophobia and the same few points repeated as infinitum), and I just finally decided to say something because I'm frankly shocked how little push back there is (apart from Emily's posts)

LumelaMme · 15/01/2016 22:02

Sorry.
I got a bit riled there.
I see she's now been rude to polenta as well.

We're going round in circles here. I've lost track of what the petition now says.

AnnaForbes · 15/01/2016 22:02

travelling, Ill pm you my email. Use it if you start the petition before I do!

polentapies · 15/01/2016 22:04

Ok
Who will put their name to this petition? It will not be published, but need your name, and postcode

5 names plus the front person are required and we are short. Please PM me if you want to do it

VertigoNun · 15/01/2016 22:04

Like a bus, none for ages, then two come along at once. Grin Thank you.

travellingpeople · 15/01/2016 22:05

Vertigo Nun,
What is the petition wording?
I feel that it has to be really strong
I told my mp that if there was an incident of this phenomenon in uk that i would assume the social contract was broken and i would be arming my daughter and be prepared to go to prison.
It really is that serious
And he didnt even acnowledge acinowledge my letter.
Vertigo nun pm me with instructions
Thanks

AnnaForbes · 15/01/2016 22:06

Ha ha just sent travelling my email! Will send it to you too polentapies. Thank you both of you.

Wordsaremything · 15/01/2016 22:06

Lumela I think we're looking at using the first line of travelling's post at 21.52 then the rest of the latest version of pink's combined effort, if that makes sense.

VertigoNun · 15/01/2016 22:06

I will pm you.

TwistedReach · 15/01/2016 22:09

Vertigo do you think its funny that she said that? Do you agree?

VertigoNun · 15/01/2016 22:11

Funny? Eh? Have you not heard of the two bus coming along type comment before its standard in the UK.

LumelaMme · 15/01/2016 22:11

Ta, Words
I think that's a good start.

SonyaAtTheSamovar · 15/01/2016 22:12

Maybe it is just too much to ask all 100 % of the people to come together on this. Tbh I would ask men to sign it is not only a womans issue but a society issue. So for me its not entirely possiblea woman thing, though I think we maybe some are more aware of what is at stake for our daughters.

In this case It is better that something is said rather than nothing.

The German campaign Emily highlighted is good. I would have no trouble supporting it. If there are different paths so be it.

VertigoNun · 15/01/2016 22:13

We have been looking for a volunteer and suddenly have two in a short space of time. It's like waiting for a bus a long time then two come along together?

Wordsaremything · 15/01/2016 22:13

You're welcome Lumie. I'll swap you a fig roll for a jammy dodgerWink
