I dont believe that Merkel invited these migrants because the birth rate in Germany is low and workers are needed. That just happened to be a very opportune excuse. She knows that many of these men will never be fully employed or employable because they have no skills. Yes, they can be taught I suppose but they don't want to be blue collar workers, working for the Man and doing PAYE (an alien concept for them). Most will drift into work in cafés and the food service industry within their own ethnic communities - employment that tends to be off the cards - and Europe will have a social and medical burden bill that will cripple us.

The men will marry, probably an imported woman, have 4 children and claim social benefits.

What is her reason? Not sure, but there's something dark and dishonest about this. And when has Austria been a country with arms outstretched to foreigners? It doesnt jive for me at all.

Pinkchampchoccies · 09/01/2016 20:05

The arab speaking men (very drunk) reportedly physically dragged women to the disco door shouting "girl friend" probably to be let in. Shock

Theydontknowweknowtheyknow · 09/01/2016 20:05

"Pack mentality, which they do not have the education to recognise or the self-control to stop."

I would have thought that seeing a girl crying with fear as she was being assaulted would be enough to make that self control kick into gear.

But no, they carried on laughing. They found another person's distress hilarious. That has little to do with self control and more to do with hatred and contempt.

Tamponlady · 09/01/2016 20:05

LumelaMme · 09/01/2016 20:06

Can all the racists please read the previous thread?
Not all migrants are ignorant.
Not all migrants are criminals.
Not all migrants are Muslim.

I am NOT a racist. I am NOT a xenophobe. I believe that western values are important and should not be compromised because SOME immigrants can't cope with them.

Pinkchampchoccies · 09/01/2016 20:06

Reading about these attacks, the men who did this are indeed savages.

Rainbunny · 09/01/2016 20:06

I do not see a good future for German/Scandinavian women frankly. These young men are not going to change their deeply held beliefs and start respecting females as equals. Changing such deeply held values takes intellectual rigor and an ability to question fundamental beliefs, in this case beliefs that are enmeshed with Islam. I know the Norwegian government is giving classes to newly arriving refugees about western values and respect of women, I just don't see it working. That means the only way forward is for the police to enforce the law (of course that only happens after a crime has been committed) and it isn't going too well so far is it? I fear that women will have to get used to society becoming more dangerous for us on a permanent basis. Germany needs to expand their police force I think. I mentioned in the previous thread that demographically the majority of crimes committed in any country are committed by young males. Well Germany has over half a million young males suddenly arrive...

ApocalypseNowt · 09/01/2016 20:07

Marking my place.

polentapies was just about to post on the last thread but it's moving too fast! Haven't had time to catch up but thought I'd respond to your post about James O'Brien and try to work out why you are so annoyed at that interview. Essentially, you and he are coming at the issue from different trajectories. It goes something like this:
O'Brien -why are you bothered about this given the long history of sexual assaults?
You (women in general) -I'm bothered about this precisely because of the long history of sexual assaults

The key event is the Cologne assaults. From his perspective, the only thing that's different is the ethnicity/scale/immigrant status of the perpetrators. From your perspective, this is the latest in a long line of assaults against women so women are saying "we have enough of a fight and don't want this latest burden. Ethnicity/ background are just an extra factor that we'll need to cope with in this case. If it were a large group of wealthy men doing this then wealth would be the extra factor that we'll need to cope with" . For him, this is a bit of a departure from normal life because he hasn't been listening and taking note of feminist campaigns, writing, settong up of shelters andnumerous public talks about sexual assault so he focuses on the only factor that's different from his perspective in this case to what normally happens-race.

hiddenhome2 · 09/01/2016 20:08

Animals it's almost as though they're trying to destroy their own country Confused

Surely they're not that stupid though.

Is she trying to make amends for WWII or something?

Pinkchampchoccies · 09/01/2016 20:08

In Bielefeld according to Google translate:

"Their strategy was to drag women who were staying in the area of the Boulevard , with violence to tear to our input and to maintain regardless of the defense of women " That's my girlfriend " ( Engl .: This is my friend , n. D . Red . ) . Although these women fought back and asked us for help , the men touched them in the genital area of , tore at their clothes and continued to argue that they were their friends . Only with use of physical force , we were able to help women to break free . "

Tamponlady · 09/01/2016 20:10

Merkal is talking about deportation ha ha back to were her own fucking eu rules state you cannot deport someone back to a war torn country no doubt they will say the fact they are accused of rape that theirs life will be en danger if they are sent back just think once they have there German papers they will be free to travel to the uk and there's nothing anyone can do

Pinkchampchoccies · 09/01/2016 20:11

The bouncer witness also states that although the dimension of the harassment was new, harassment of women in Bielefeld at night is an everyday occurrence.

Pinkchampchoccies · 09/01/2016 20:12

Harassment by ethnic men.

Women in Germany have to just put up with it it seems.

Tamponlady · 09/01/2016 20:13

And or course the level of cover up involved is new

Pinkchampchoccies · 09/01/2016 20:15

I sent this to my MP and MEP, having slightly adapted what LumelaMme wrote: I hope she doesn't mind me re-printing it here. (if she does I'll ask MN to delete)

Dear [MP and MEP's name],

Women’s rights and immigration

As you will be aware, on New Year’s Eve in Cologne over a hundred women were sexually assaulted or robbed (or both) by a crowd of about 1,000 men, described as being of North African or Middle Eastern ethnicity. Similar things happened, on a smaller scale, in other German cities, in Helsinki and in Austria.

The press coverage and the political response have been halting and uncertain. It can only be assumed that this is because nobody wants to be accused of being a racist. However, if nobody in mainstream politics discusses this issue, it becomes even more of a gift to the far Right.

It is a huge issue. It’s part of the cultural clash between some immigrants and liberal western society, a clash that doesn’t only affect women. It worries me that this is such a problem in mainland Europe already, and I’m concerned that if we just sit back, it will become a problem here as well.

What happened in Cologne is appalling, and the press and political response is too. Women’s rights are put behind immigrant rights, and that just isn’t good enough. I want to know that our country, and other countries in Europe, can play their part in resolving the refugee crisis without my rights, my daughters’ rights, my friends’ rights, being downplayed or debased. If immigrants come from countries where women are subjugated – like many of those in the Islamic world, where the refugee crisis is centred – they must be made aware that things are different in Europe. As I understand it, immigrants who obtain citizenship in other European countries are then free to come here under current European laws. How long before something like Cologne’s New Year happens here?

I would like to ask you, as my MP, to tackle this issue head on, to raise it rather letting it be ignored or minimised. We need, as a country, to have an open debate about this issue, to establish that women’s rights are a key part of our culture. The solution is not, as women in Austria have been advised to do, to remain indoors at night. The solution is to bring this issue right into the open, and insist that our social norms and expectations are not diluted.

Thanks for reading this.

[My name, postal address, phone number, all required for MP to reply].

I added: This columnist appears to understand what is at stake: and the vast majority of the commenters agree:

Just signing to new thread.
The nightclub incident is frightening.

Cellardoor1 · 09/01/2016 20:17

According this article, police have been instructed not to report on crimes committed by refugees

Translated quote from the article

"The officer continued: "There are strict instructions of the Board of Directors, not to report offenses committed by refugees."

Perhaps the police then have been complacent in these crimes escalating to the point that we saw on NYE.

Tamponlady · 09/01/2016 20:17

The left have done lots damage to there cause they seek to give shelter and anonymity to Muslim attackers in case it gives sucker to the rasicts

HelpTheAnimalsFirst · 09/01/2016 20:19

maria543 You are married to an ME man and have lived in that region? Can you tell me why so many ME or NAfrican men are so volatile all the time. I have met a number when I was working for an ME person, and found that everything seems to cause an eruption. Is this the poor self discipline you were speaking of?

Merkel let the migrants in because Germany are desperate to be seen as accommodating to ethnic minorities due to collective guilt over the recent (20th century) past.

This is in direct contrast (I have personally found) to the attitudes on the street, which range from Pegida to a tolerance for casual racist ideas and slang unseen in the uk since my grandmothers day.

It was a recipe for disaster anyway. A government determination to prove open mindedness but the people living cheek by jowl with the migrants see no issue with words like "n++++r" and the idea that you wouldn't want your sister going out with a black guy.

So, the actions of the well intentioned few were hugely covered in the press with the general impression given to the world that every German is over the moon about immigration.

So what happens? Along come ISIS, or whoever is behind the NYE attacks to stoke the already smouldering fires amongst the population that actually, they aren't "cool" with uncontrolled immigration and they only need half an excuse to get out on the street and start kicking against it. And instead of half an excuse, the terrorists come up with a genius plan which uses the age old weapon of war - rape - which as a PP said on the previous thread, effectively stokes fear among the population and can be used by anyone, anywhere any time with little hope of being brought to justice for it.

So far so depressing.

What I find shocking to the core, however, is the willingness of the politicians, in trying to save face and defend their crazy immigration policy, to throw women under the bus, to cover, to keep quiet and to pretend we are not living with an unexploded bomb which can be detonated any time, any where. And you don't have to be at a large public gathering to feel the effect of this new weapon. You simply have to step outside your own home and run into the wrong person.
