Keeping this in the spotlight since the mainstream media isn't.

OP posts:

And what exactly are the "left" going to come out and say/do seeing as they caused the problem in the first place.

hiddenhome2 · 09/01/2016 21:31

Well they must be mumsnetters because they're here posting duh Hmm

This place isn't restricted.

Moreshabbythanchic · 09/01/2016 21:32

Emily are you here to make a sensible contribution or just to pick at others comments. Could you please explain my campaign to me as I don't know what you are talking about.

hiddenhome2 · 09/01/2016 21:33

It's easier to blame the women who were out in the first place gingham Sad

They should remain at home doing left wing things knitting jumpers for dispossessed marmots or something

Justanotherlurker · 09/01/2016 21:34

Mumsnet is not a hivemind Emily, I've seen tamponlady before may not agree with every post she makes but that doesn't make her a mumsneter.

onthephone100 · 09/01/2016 21:34

Isn't it ironic that actually the home is where women are most in danger.

No safe spaces.

fourmummy · 09/01/2016 21:36

'However, she also reiterated her mantra on the refugee issue, insisting again 'we will manage it.' (From a DM article)-these, together with her "We'll cope" pronouncements are not the words of a politician who has made an active choice. These are words of resignation. Just reading the news. Very, very worried.

emilybohemia · 09/01/2016 21:37

Rainbunny, they fled their home countries because of war, not highly doubtable loyalty. Could you fight against barrel bombs and starvation?

onthephone100 · 09/01/2016 21:37

I don't want to fucking cope, I want my fucking city back!

2016IsANewYearforMe · 09/01/2016 21:38

The attack was on NYE for 2016 and the ♀ is the symbol for woman.

Justanotherlurker · 09/01/2016 21:39

Gingham

The 'left' or more accurately the regressive left are currently trying to wait until the far right take hold of the narrative so they can ignore the inherent issues and just shout racist.

Rainbunny · 09/01/2016 21:39

Nonsense Hidden - I knit sweaters for squirrels who are suffering from global warming caused temperature fluctuations. Marmots indeed! You make us left wing knitters sound like nut jobs ;)

What. where did I say that? I was referring to left wing politicians across Europe allowing unchecked migration.

LongWayRound · 09/01/2016 21:42

There is no clear picture as of yet of just how many Syrian men carried out attacks. It is more than a little unfair that you suggest that all Syrian male refugees be parted from their families.
From what I have read, many of the perpetrators were Moroccan or Algerian. There is no war in either Morocco or Algeria, and there should be no question of men from these countries being considered as refugees.
What has happened in recent months is that many young men from both countries have travelled to Turkey opportunistically in order to join the trail of refugees to western Europe, and Germany in particular. Now they are finding it harder to get through, because Macedonia is not allowing transit to any except Syrians, Iraqis and Afghans. As far as I know (I'm living in Morocco and know personally of a couple of cases) Moroccans who get as far as the camps on the Greek/Macedonian border are being taken back to Athens, but not actually returned home.

hiddenhome2 · 09/01/2016 21:43

Yes, that's who I mean gingham. The left will blame the women. I didn't mean you.

emilybohemia · 09/01/2016 21:45

I'm here to do both moreshabby. When so many commenters make generalisations, I think it is important that those ideas are challenged, especially when posters are being deliberately inflammatory. I don't think the solution to male violence will be found by focusing on the ethnicity and religion of one group. Also, have you asked those posting about migrants coming solely or benefits etc why they're here because they ain't focusing on male violence. They're not interested in it. They are interested in what backs up their anti immigration views-

ginghamcricketbox · 09/01/2016 21:46

Apologies hiddenhome2 wrong end of the stick

TwistedReach · 09/01/2016 21:49

Emily I feel relieved to read your posts on this thread.

Moreshabbythanchic · 09/01/2016 21:49

Nobody has said they are anti immigration, this thread is about sexual violence towards women by men and the way it has been attempted to cover it up.

There are two more threads on this if you care to read them.

hiddenhome2 · 09/01/2016 21:50

Lol, that's okay gingham

DogStrummer · 09/01/2016 21:51

I don't think the solution to male violence will be found by focusing on the ethnicity and religion of one group.

This is not about "male violence".

This is about the civilised laws and norms of Western Europe breaking down.

Attacking men will do absolutely nothing. All decent men, are reading the reports from Germany, with absolute horror!

hiddenhome2 · 09/01/2016 21:52

Actually emily we covered those points in the first two threads Hmm

You're the one making generalisations Hmm

onthephone100 · 09/01/2016 21:52

I haven't seen any posters across three threads being deliberately inflammatory or suggesting migration be completely halted.

LurcioAgain · 09/01/2016 21:52

Not quite, Moreshabby. I'd say the tone of the first two threads was admirably balanced and well thought out, this one much less so. There are at least two posters on here whose posts I read as knee-jerk anti immigration rhetoric. Which is a shame, because the important points made on the first couple of threads now risk being derailed by these people.
