New thread again.

Thread 1 - started when 3 Israeli boys were found murdered.

Thread 2 - in which we mainly discussed Operation Protective Edge.

Thread 3 - in which we continued to discuss Operation Protective Edge, the wider conflict and international involvement.

Welcome to part 4, in which I hope it's not too much to ask that we stick to the MN Talk Guidelines Wink

As many people have asked about Syria, I'm pleased to say that a new discussion on that subject has been started (by another poster here.

and in Iraq

I don't see Hamas as being any different from Isis. Their fundamental beliefs are the same - they torture people who don't hold their beliefs and train young children to fight. I imagine that there is probably no such thing as free speech in Palestine.

Hamas wants to kill every Jewish person - they have made that clear. It is less to do with land and everything to do with power and control. If Israel does nothing she is a sitting duck.

Who would stop hamas? And how would they be stopped?

Regular Muslim would not be able to get rid of their government because they would be tortured and killed by their own government - the people who are meant to protect them.

saadia · 10/08/2014 21:32

I can see why you would think that if you are getting your information from Israeli sources.

claig · 10/08/2014 21:52

80schild, it is almost as if Isis has been created on purpose to give Muslims a bad name.

But google Isis conspiracy.

edamsavestheday · 10/08/2014 22:13

80schild - it is perfectly possible to be concerned about Palestine and about Iraq, and about Sierra Leone and lots of other places too. One doesn't negate the other. The pro-Israeli camp keep using it as a pathetic attempt to shut down debate.

They also use the 'what would YOU do' line, betraying their complete ignorance of the way other countries have actually suffered from terrorism. Many of them without resorting to the mass slaughter of innocent civilians.

just caught up with the tail end of this thread having thought it was over due to new thread. it was me who'd been sourcing alternative meds and my pharmacy was very helpful and understanding. can wholly recommend anyone ordering their repeat prescription or picking up a prescription does the same.

you say you don't want any meds sourced in israel, you ask them to source alternatives if they can and if they can't to NOT fill the prescription so you can shop around elsewhere for a chemist who can give an alternatively sourced generic version of the med.

despite the hype the vast majority of the medications most of us use on the nhs are out of patent and can be sourced from various alternatives and if enough of us are saying non israeli please they'll increase their sourcing from other countries and cease bothering ordering israeli ones.

obviously it relies on numbers but every person counts.
