A woman named Emma Baker has waived anonymity to accuse a politician of abusing her in the 1980s:

"Detectives have been told that the politician, who is still alive and of the current political era, would make her sit on his knee while she played the piano and on other occasions sexually abused her on Cannock Chase fields. He cannot be named for legal reasons."

I was wondering about the progress of Operation Hydrant, which was announced a week (ish) ago with huge numbers of prominent people involved - and then absolute silence??

yolofish · 27/05/2015 23:23

suzannecanthecan · 16/07/2015 13:56

yolofish · 25/07/2015 22:59

I read in the paper today/yesterday that the Young One is visiting the UK - seen at some kind of social do, cant remember what (sorry). Wouldnt this be an ideal opportunity for a chat with the boys in blue?

redshoeblueshoe · 26/07/2015 23:15

yolo that has been covered in the Mail about kitty's dinner at the Ivy
I think the DM are starting to change the way they cover stories about him. That is to say - they mentioned the allegations - but this time without the usual DM attitude of how dare they say such dreadful things about our bachelor boy, who is just enjoying his summer holiday

BeyondTheWall · 27/07/2015 11:34

How sad to see this thread is over a year old now and no real progress :(

redshoeblueshoe · 30/07/2015 20:09

Ben Fellows has been found Not Guilty of perverting the course of justice.

meglet · 03/08/2015 13:54

the Heath suspicions are seeping out. breaking on bbc news.

redshoeblueshoe · 03/08/2015 18:25

and on SKY

redshoeblueshoe · 03/08/2015 18:27

I bet kitty won't be going to Liverpool for Cilla's funeral

CheekyMaleekey · 03/08/2015 19:57

I feel very ill reading all of this. I think it's shock, disgust and the overwhelming sense of sheer helplessness. Those poor children. What a cruel world.

redshoeblueshoe · 04/08/2015 15:11

On Sky news now. Ted Heath is being investigated by 3 separate police forces including Jersey's Operation Whistle.

Theoldshmoo · 04/08/2015 15:30

I hope the people of Jersey start shouting loud, they deserve to be heard by someone and their own establishment is failing miserably.

A bit of a random question but how did David Icke know all of these names and links 20 years ago?

He published his book naming names and no one sued him as far as i can see Confused

redshoeblueshoe · 04/08/2015 16:03

Theoldhmoo - lots of people must have known. The police who were made to make it disappear I could understand them blowing the whistle. There have always been rumours. With Saville - people knew - people went to the police and nothing happened. It must be dreadful to know for a fact about these things then see the perpetrators flying high professionally.

Theoldshmoo · 04/08/2015 16:14

He just seems to have known so many details that were once called conspiracy theories that are now reported as fact Confused

Do people contact him and give him this info, does he have a hotline and how was it all possible 20 years ago before the WWW was invented

Gossips one thing but to be so sure of your facts that you choose to publish it is another.

FallonColby · 04/08/2015 18:41

Theoldshmoo Regarding David Icke I once heard that the whole lizard, shape shifter stuff is just a ruse to present himself as a but of loony so he wouldn't be sued ie. people would think why is anybody sueing him sure he's mad and makes all that stuff up.

LoloKazolo · 04/08/2015 20:43

"But," I said in amazement, "then do you mean to tell me that in very truth actual rapes, in the legal sense of the word, are constantly being perpetrated in London on unwilling virgins, purveyed and procured to rich men at so much a head by keepers of brothels?"

"Certainly," said he, "there is not a doubt of it." "Why," I exclaimed, "the very thought is enough to raise hell."

"It is true," he said; "and although it ought to raise hell, it does not even raise the neighbours."

Pall Mall Gazette July 6 1885

I think tbh in a hundred and thirty years nothing has changed. Well, we don't convict children for soliciting any more, I suppose; though we did right up to the 1990s.

redshoeblueshoe · 04/08/2015 20:55

Lolo - I only read a bit of that - I'm speechless Sad

Garlick · 04/08/2015 21:25

Excellent find, Lolo, thank you.

And this is why we have always told children not to take bribes from strange men, to stay close in the crowds, and so on. Doesn't help those who are betrayed by 'trusted' adults, unfortunately.

LoloKazolo · 04/08/2015 21:42

I remember reading that years ago in a book about Josephine Butler (the "raise the neighbours" line) and just googled it again now. You can read the entire expose, which obviously is highly, er, Victorian in nature, here. It's worth doing, I think.

One thing that leapt out to me was the testimony from the prostituted children, whose "maidenhead" had been auctioned. They almost all said that "you can't get pregnant/ a baby first time". I was always interested in why that myth persisted - it makes no sense on the face of it*- but they were all told it by their pimps and it's still reverberating today.

*By which I mean, if you are intending to embark on sex with a boyfriend, in a relationship, why should not getting pregnant the first time be material? Surely you'd reckon to do it more than once! I remember wondering about this at about 12, in the playground, quite clearly.

Anyway, perhaps too great a diversion.

GeneralEyes · 04/08/2015 22:45

if that programme 60 mins is on Sunday at 8.30 in Australia when would we be able to watch it? Monday night? I'm not sure of time difference
