Yes - Slatterns (now Slatterns and Listmakers) is now a year old.

Come and join us if you're a slattern, or simply like making lists for jobs you want to get done each day/week/month.

Never thought 12 months ago that a thread I started to help me get the bare minimum done at home when I was feeling shite would still be going strong 12 months later - even with me frequently AWOL in recent months.

Everyone is welcome, we're a friendly bunch.

Well, I've unstuck one of the frontroom windows. It's a bit sticky, think I'll need to sand it a bit, as couldn't get it closed without DH going outside and pushing it shut again. The bedroom windows however will require some work. I can move the dehumidifier upstairs now that I can open the front room window though.

I think I must be ill, I've just done some ironing. DH got the board and iron out and I said 'can I have a go?' DS behaved so I might start ironing again.

Yeah, your right JKS! The daily cooking, cleaning and tidying (not to mention childcare & BF) takes up so much time that it's really hard to get all the weekly jobs done. Not to mention monthly stuff. 'tis rather depressing TBH

Have been on my course today so no list.

Car is fucked. Looking at new car on friday but at the same time. We are going to the get the same again, but hopefully with a smaller engine and slightly newer with less miles on the clock.

DH out tonight, so when he gets back from work we will be having dinner (dd and me) putting DD to bed, DH going out, then i plan to have a go at practising christmas presents. Honeycomb pieces this evening, and maybe start on some christmas tree decorations.

Doh! Meant, when DH gets home, go up the horses, then dinner etc.....

Hello everyone Didn't have time to post this morning, no idea where the time went. Then I lost my car keys and so was late for music with DS . Had a lovely day though with my friend and her DD, and DS has been asleep since we got back so I've sorted the house out. Looked like a bomb had hit it from me running round like a headless chicken this morning!

MadameMoe - the best thing about this thread is that it makes you realise just how much time the daily grind and chores do take up, and that getting things done on top of that is a bonus. It's why I always list meals, getting dressed etc - if we are all clean, clothed and fed and have eaten off clean plates etc then the day has not been a failure!

Alice - sorry about the car, a new one is always fun though

Even my sister, who works f-t, has 2 DC and never seems to have a hair out of place said her mantra in the 'young' years was;
If the children are fed & clean, it's A Good Day.
If I am too, it's A Bloody Good Day!

Hi all

Its bloomin freezing, I spent all day trying to get ahead with my cakes, 3 for Saturday

and my washing is backing up because everything is taking soooo long to dry, I have a wash done and nowhere to hang it and my tumble drier can't cope with anything more than a couple of pants, quite dissapointed in it we have it 4 years in January and its a good make

Anyway off to get dcs ready for bed
ended up reading Georges Marvelous Medicine so off to finish
although dd1 still hasn't finished her homework[grrr] trust her teacher to give her a book review the day we go dancing!

I'm sure I've heard tell of some sort of inexpensive dehumidifying airier dryer thingy. It's very good apparently. I'll try and find a link.
