November Slatterns/Listmakers - one year on and still taking baby steps.........

1000 replies

alwayslookingforanswers · 31/10/2009 23:39

Yes - Slatterns (now Slatterns and Listmakers) is now a year old.

Come and join us if you're a slattern, or simply like making lists for jobs you want to get done each day/week/month.

Never thought 12 months ago that a thread I started to help me get the bare minimum done at home when I was feeling shite would still be going strong 12 months later - even with me frequently AWOL in recent months.

Everyone is welcome, we're a friendly bunch.

JKS - Spatone is an iron supplement. I've been taking it for almost a month and I do think it has helped.

OMG, DS just did the most epic poo. Times like that I do sort of wish we used disposables! Had to get DH to come and sort it out because I was nearly sick.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 30/11/2009 15:53

Hi, we're back from a weekend with in-laws. It was nice as DS had lots of different toys / people to play with and I didn't have to do any cooking / cleaning for a change.

Hope everyone is ok. Not read through apart from this page.

Ali - commiserate with you on repulsive nappies.

Spatone is from this spa down the valley from us. Wish we could get it from a stream or something. v. expensive.

It should boost your blood iron levels and therefore energy. If its good enough for the roman legions ...

Ali I could do more but dd got really upset when I packed her money box etc away so I am leaving the rest of her room (bookshelf and teddies mainly) til the day so as not to upset her more.

The toys are mostly in boxes anyway so am hoping they won't take too long...

wastingaway · 30/11/2009 18:40

Just noticed I thanked JKS instead of Ali earlier.

It's freezing! Need to dig my gloves and winter coat out.

Got my Spatone from Holland and Barrett. They didn't seem to have any in Boots, but I'll look out for the offer in the future.

PlumBumMum · 30/11/2009 19:06

HI all,
I would check in your area but I know in some areas spatone is available on prescription, it used to be in ours and then it got taken off
Although I think I remember the midwife telling me the iron levels weren't that significant but I think that was if needed in pregnancy because I needed to take iron supplements with dd2
And check your local chemist as our chemist stocks it and its in the middle of no where!

Alice Whats wrong with it? I take dh for granted where things like that are concerned!

CC you must have gave me some of your energy yesterday

Off to start the Enchanted wood with the dcs(we have read them in the wrong order)
get them to bed
then make a start on this weeks cakes

SparklyAlice · 30/11/2009 20:02

It is actually about £1300 now, but DH says we can use the savings for it, so won't go short, which is a relief. I really thought the horses would have to go

It is a mercedes A class and they are a bugger to do anything with. Local garage asked me to take it to Mercedes garage because they found it so difficult to do anything with.

What a day . Why did I think it was a good idea to rearrange DD"s room, today, of all days

DD had her melt down at exectly the wrong moment. There was stuff everywhere. Loads of half done jobs . I've manged to pretty much get things under control again. I'm stunned I even manged to get the basics done on top of that TBH!
