November Slatterns/Listmakers - one year on and still taking baby steps.........

1000 replies

alwayslookingforanswers · 31/10/2009 23:39

Yes - Slatterns (now Slatterns and Listmakers) is now a year old.

Come and join us if you're a slattern, or simply like making lists for jobs you want to get done each day/week/month.

Never thought 12 months ago that a thread I started to help me get the bare minimum done at home when I was feeling shite would still be going strong 12 months later - even with me frequently AWOL in recent months.

Everyone is welcome, we're a friendly bunch.

Wasting - PMSL at 'condensation patrol'. Must be such a PITA though, have you looked at de-humidifiers?

I'm feeling really ropey today, went to bed this afternoon. Off to bed soon, hopefully will feel better tomorrow as need to do a lot of jobs!

wastingaway · 29/11/2009 22:14

We've got a small de-humidifier running all the time downstairs, but it's a very wet house. It had been empty for seven months, lots of new plasterwork and our decorator painted the wooden windows shut. Plus there's always four airers of washing drying in the back room. Hopefully we can keep it under control til it all dries out a bit.

Hope you feel better in the morning.

Hola well am waiting for a call tomorrow to see if I have got a 2nd interview for a job I need and want. So been really nervous and cleaning loads just to DO something.

Today I -

cleaned fridge, done dishes, put dishes away, swept hall, kitchen and front room, washed front room floor on hands and knees, cleaned bathroom, cleaned out rabbits cage, washed windows and mirrors, put 2 loads of washing on, put dry washing away, hung up wet washing, cleaned surfaces, taken bins out and done general tidying.....

Then best mate and her baby came over and we ate biscuits and now I am -

Hanging up more washing, emptying food cupboards, washing them and putting things back lined up in a very anal way

I can't believe that people give kids coke at parties anymore. There i was worrying that i was providing Hula Hoops

Haven't done much so far. Washed the buggy rain cover, and put another washload on.

I have found a recipe for homemade bathbombs though, so that has got me a bit excited [sad individual]

MadameMoo · 30/11/2009 10:46

Just 'wasted' 3/4 hour re-arranging DD's furniture, I've been meaning to do it for ages and it is much better. There's a lot more usable playing space. Still..

Morning ladies

Mumof2 - I love mince pies. I have deliberately not bought any because I would eat them all. I've got a jar of my Mum's lovely mincemeat in the cupboard so I'm resisting the temptation to go and make some pastry and tuck in!!

Alice - hope your car is sorted quickly, it's such a PITA being without unless you are within walking distance of things.

JKS - at your sleep!

Giraffes - good luck!

I am feeling a lot better this morning, although I didn't get that much sleep, took me until nearly 2am to drop off!
It is horrid here today, cold and raining and blowing a gale. We will be staying indoors I think.

TODAY
Orange juice and Spatone - done
Pilates - some, DS woke up early!!
All up and dressed - done
Breakfast and tidy kitchen - done

MadameMoo · 30/11/2009 12:07

Gah. Both DC refusing to sleep, I'm not surprised with DD ('new' room etc) but DS is now missing his second sleep. At least they are both cheerful (even if DD is too wild for words)

I'm afraid I'm not really keeping up with the thread. Sorry

I love the way you lot tell me various things count/ aren't a waste of time. 'tis quite motivating! Still not getting much done though...

wastingaway · 30/11/2009 12:39

Thanks Alice, I'll have a look in Boots later.

It was lovely JKS. I'm going to let him have a lie-in tomorrow, as I usually bring DS into bed in the morning, DH gets booted out.

SparklyAlice · 30/11/2009 12:40

It also works quite well in Lemsip when you have a cold
