Evening

I haven't got round to the exercise yet (now theres a surprise ) I am happy with my weight but just like plum I can't shift the tummy, I am sure theres muscles in there somewhere!! Maybe a mummy tuck is the only answer, I'm too much of a wimp for that!!

HMHB I remember the afterpains all too clearly [ouch], not meaning to scare you but best be aware, stock up on codeine and paracetamol and take them regularly for the first 48 hours after birth.

Homework time wasn't too bad, DS2 was strangly co-operative, we will have to see how long that last

JKS just realised you said you can't shift the mummy tummy either. Maybe we should just start a 'Mummy Tummy and Proud Club' and forget watching the waistline and exercising

NaughtyAlice · 08/09/2009 21:13

ali i forgot to add that Dh is a bit addicted to Lord of the rings online game and used to be Runescape (since you asked )

Rainbow I have a horrid jelly belly. I heard that it takes longer after a cs but not sure how true that is. It's still my excuse anyway

JustKeepSwimming · 08/09/2009 22:05

I was told it's worse after a c-s too. and mine is certainly worse after ds2 (c-s) thatn ds1 - but that could just be having 2 close together.

Alice - DH and I used to play that! I actually ran a kin on there for almost a year . It's damm addictive though, took up hours and hours every week.

Feeling a bit shit this evening, think I might have a migraine coming on so I'm off to bed.

Oh - I have a horrid post-section tummy aswell.

JustKeepSwimming · 09/09/2009 07:17

Morning - cr*p night's sleep here. i stayed up too late (nearly 11), ds2 up and crying at 1.15-1.30 (he had some spasms so think they woke him up). Heard him again about 5.

Morning

I haven't has any CS, but it was my fourth child that did it for me, he was my biggest baby 9lb 2 1/2oz, I'm not overly worried about it, it wounld just be nice not to have to keep tucking my pouch into my jeans

JKS Quite often I stay up to late and then regret it in the morning!!

flame MEN!!!!

I have been getting DD dressed before DS2 leaves for school, just to prepare for when we need to be out early, she was all ready, harbrushed and everything, then all was quiet so I knew she was up to something, I found her in the bathroom covering her hair with hand soap, so now I need to shower her before we can go to little lambs [annoyed]

I only realised this morning, so no chance for excuse.

World has been spinning since I dropped DS at nursery an hour ago. Going to throw veg in big pot and sit down!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/09/2009 09:42

alwayslookingforanswers - are you who I think you are?

Off to a first birthday party today and need to drop DH at the station on the way so all a bit chaotic here this morning. We need to leave in an hour, and I need to,

Wrap present and write card
Have a shower
Make myself look presentable
Pack changing bag
Get DS changed into his party clothes
Tidy kitchen

alwayslookingforanswers · 09/09/2009 09:49

right this is it - I need to get my arse in gear.

It's just me and DS3 today (well until later this afternoon when I'll have DS1, 2 and DH back).

Need to show DH that I can do the housework once he's back at work (well ok I don't need to be I want to ).

So - with that in mind. Jobs to do before 3pm ish - in some sort of order are:

Help DS3 finish his breakfast
Get DS3 dressed
Have a shower
Get dressed and dry hair
Empty dishwasher
Load or two of washing (now it's brightened up a bit)
Hang washing on line
Prepare dinner (so I can just throw it in the oven later)
Start writing my last OU assignment (due in by midnight tomorrow night )
Empty toy box and double check Virgin box card isn't in there
Ring virgin to order new Virgin box card
Hoover

hmm think that'll do for now - it's quite a lot compared to what I've been doing while DH is still looking for work

JustKeepSwimming · 09/09/2009 10:03

So annoying - internet stops working at home from 8.30pm why? so couldnt' post last night.

Naughty Alice - was going to say congrats on the kitten.

Plum / JKS etc. - will be joining the mummytummy club in approx 1 month.

Re Afterpains - after CS was on lots of painkillers so probably didnt' notice the after pains. Will stock up as advised - ta everyone.

Mini-rant - just taken DS to school. The school made a big deal about taking younger kids for half days and nursery so I took him this morning and had to hang around for 30 mins until found someone to look after him.

DS wanted to build a tower in the class room with me (should say that I dropped him straight into the class room last week no bother), all other kids were outside, no teachers I recognised about. Eventually I found the head (teeny school) and told him I had to go to work. He went outside to look for teachers / assistants but none about. The class teacher (who I have never met before) turned up with a load of kids from the playground at 9.10am. So DS was holding on to my leg saying 'don't go mummy'. Eventually he goes with the other kids and I can go to work.

The teacher said that when it is nice weather they play outside - which is great but I can't leave a 3 year old on his own outside when I don't recognise anyone, especially when he wants to go inside like last time.

Felt a bit upset as he is so little compared to the others and there doesn't seem to be much contingency for the little ones. Was biblically late for work and emotional. Felt bad for DS. I hear that some other mums are equally miffed.

Hope it will be better tomorrow.

Sorry - turned into maxi rant

Flamesparrow · 09/09/2009 10:15

School situation sounds very confusing HMHB but grrr with you!!!

I'd forgotten about afterpains (and have apparently skim read the thread so badly that I missed all mention of them ). I know they are meant to get worse with each child... you can't take co-codamol/dydramol breast feeding can you?

PlumBumMum · 09/09/2009 10:29

alwayslookingforanswers love the new name and glad to see you back

HMHB I remember my afterpains with no2 but can't remember after no3 but I was in pain everywhere after no3 I probably didn't notice

Rainbowdrops dd2 was tiny after having a bigish ds, they asked me if I had changed partners as that can cause a smaller baby dh was not impressed!!

I stayed up late last night and watched Batman the dark night, and then remembered we have it on DVD so that was abit silly!

Anyway on with a list

DONE
dcs off to school
hang out washing
put a wash on
empty kitchen bin

TO DO
over to school give dd1 drops and drop off forgotten Judo suit!11ish
lunch
schoolrun
homeworks
dinner maybe roast chicken
make pack lunches
hoover
sort clean washing
iron
put away washing
wipe round bathroom
wipe round ensuite
brush kitchen floor (possibly mop)
decide how much wieght I want to lose and do something about it!!!!!

claireybee · 09/09/2009 11:04

Hello, no list today as am a poorly girl. Woke up yesterday morning feeling queasy but thought it was just tiredness because ds had woken a couple of times in the night. Went to toddlers and felt quite bad there because it was so hot (why on earth do they have the heating on just because it's september??), felt better once outside so went into town to go to library then had to drag dc out of library within a couple of mins of getting there as felt so ill. Got bus home (and it was an old one with steps so had to fold buggy and carry that, bags and try to control dc then driver drove off before we'd sat down so had to try to stop dc falling over and get them on to a seat whilst still holding everything else )Got off bus and just about made it home before throwing up then spent all afternoon with head down loo feeling progressively worse. Blacked out twice just for a few seconds a time so dd had to call dh at work to get him to come home. Luckily ds was being good for once so he actually didn't kill himself/destroy the house even though they were basically left unattended all afternoon.

Poor DC, I couldn't even get them lunch so they ate a packet of dry crackers and an apple

Feel much better today, just achey and a bit dizzy.

HMHB school sounds very disorganised

DD is doing her second morning now, she loved the first one and wanted to stay all day.

Afterpains . Had none with dd but after ds it was like labour again everytime he fed for the first two weeks. Flame they gave me cocodamol for them after ds so I asume it is ok to take whilst bf...

Going to lie down again now, hopefully be back on form tomorrow.

Flamesparrow · 09/09/2009 11:17

Clairey.

(No need to with the lunch - mine had similar several times over the holidays)

Yay for strong meds - have oodles in the drawer from various day surgery ops etc

NaughtyAlice · 09/09/2009 12:22

My midwife when I was expecting my 4th warned me about afterpains because they do get worse the more DC you have, I'm glad she did!!

Went to Little Lambs, it was a bit strange for me and Jodi as all my friends arn't going any more because their LO have already started pre-school and they haven't had any more yet. DS3 really enjoyed though, I will keep going, it's just like starting over.

JKS glad you are seeing improvements in your DS
