Ali - does the wrap not feel damp then?
Oh, and what oil blend you using? I tried the 10% castor/ 90% sunflower but still needed moisturiser.

HMHB - where in Cornwall were you? No exciting updates, it's been business as usual chez Slatterns!

WME - no it doesn't get wet because you lanolise it - and it's so breathable that moisture evaporates. Try one - honestly - they are fab. Disana is the make I have, and they are only a tenner. I tried them because DS was leaking at night and also getting a sore tummy from his wrap rubbing, and both those problems are now solved. He does smell like a little sheep when he comes into bed for a feed, but it's ever so cute
I use 10% castor/90% extra virgin olive. I still do my normal moisturiser at night and then I use a really gentle facewash in the morning and moisturise as normal. This is when I remember to do any of it of course!

Clairey - nothing better than a tidy airing cupboard - don't worry about anything else

Peppa - eye cream is the key I think. Do they do a special cream to deal with the crease that goes between your nose and the corner of your mouth - if they do that's what I need!

Peppa & Ali I had a terrible time turning 30, I think it was also because I was soo shocked at myself for being annoyed about it.

cikecaka · 04/08/2009 18:08

Welcome back HMHB

Ali that crease is the bit i need to get rid of too. I used to have lovely skin before i had DD, i could go to bed with my make up on and get up the next morning and be glowing. Now it is so sensitive i would come out in a rash! I found a great face mask in Superdrug. It is their own brand rasberry exfoliating clay mask costs about £2 and is amazing. Leaves your skin really plump and good for the tops of your arms too.

HMHB hope you had a good week in Cornwall despite the weather.

Ali and Alice I don't know if there is a special cream, let me know if you discover one as I need it too!!

PBM I was just 10 days away from DS3s due date when I had my 30th birthday, so I wasn't overly bothered at the time, but once last xmas was over and the strain of mothering 4 DC started to show on my face I started to hate being 30, I not so bothered now but I need to start taking care of myself, I'm still 18 in my mind

LOL PEPPA, I am still 18 in my head even though I am 20 yrs older! Cant believe I am 18 months away from being 40 , how did that happen! Though I have convinced myself that life will really begin at 40!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/08/2009 21:36

DS is supposed to be asleep but I can hear him singing to himself upstairs.

It's not so much how old I am that bothers me, it's how old I look . I need to change my skincare, my skin has altered totally since having DS, much drier. I am heading for mummy elbows too (where you get that dry bit and then a kind of wrinkly overhang ), must moisturise there a lot too to try and stave those off!

Morning!

Well I turn 31 on Friday and that seems loads older than 30. I wouldn't mind if I didn't look so terrible! I looked quite young til just after we got married 3 years ago, the stress of doing my MA, and then pregnancy and motherhood have drained me, but I'm having a go at sorting myself out.

Ali- I'll give the OCM another go I think, I did feel glowy when I tried it before.

Oops, posted by accident, i hadn't finished

Good morning

Wasting what is OCM?

I have been feeling the same a bit recently. I have tended to go a bit frumpy and now i am thinking that i don't want to be frumpy mummy, i want to me again. I am 24 FGS! (25 in a month) So i am trying to get my skin back under control and lose some weight and make a bit of an effort day to day.Sometimes it gets me quite down, especially as my best friend looks like barbie

wastingmyejumication · 05/08/2009 08:37

Alice - there's a big thread in Style and Beauty here.

It's cleaning your face with oil, and using a hot cloth to steam the skin while wiping it. Very relaxing and very glowy afterwards.

alicecrail · 05/08/2009 08:42

Oh yes - duh! the Oil Cleansing Method i had read it before but i thought maybe OCM was a great new product - oh well, it's a bit early

Ladygooga · 05/08/2009 09:03

CWWM - she is getting big already, time does fly!
I'm going to the doc in a bit - sure it's tonsilitis, so hoping i get some ABs and knock it on the head asap, took some night nurse last night to force me to sleep which worked, woke up hardly able to swallow or talk though. neurofen & strepsils can only do so much.

Re age - i'm 34 now, how did that happen?! turning 30 i found weird, i think i had so many thoughts when i was younger about how i would be/what i would have done/how i would have decided what to do with my life/etc. by the time i was 30 - it was a bit of a shock to find out i was still the same!
