Oh no. I have a head cold

I rang MW to see if she still wants to see me. She said to stay at home. Thats fine with me as don't want to be pinned down and given Tamiflu by people in face masks at the surgery. Honestly everyone its just a cold!

Also not going to work - they handed out antibacterial wipes yesterday but we aren't allowed to use them til next week. I used 3. If I go in with a cold the health and safety people will catch me in a net and put me in the dreaded medical room.

So here I am, at home. My symptoms are headache, blocked nose/sinus/ear and feeling a bit hot. Drinking hot lemon and honey. Will take a paracetamol in a bit.

Will be taking up residence on sofa shortly.

Morning all

Had a good nights sleep so I'm feeling all refreshed, I managed to stay away from my book

HMHB Take it easy today!!, what horrible timing to have a cold, what with the pregnancy and your weekend at your brothers.

wasting You have done loads already!! We are still in jammies and I am faffing about as usual, I must pick a task and do it. DS3 is napping now so I have no excuse.

The damm sky remote is not working even after changing the batteries, we cannot turn the volume down and it is up high because DH was watching a sci-fi film last night, the volume controls on the TV and the Tv remote do not work because the TV is ancient, so the TV has been turned off, I won't be catching up on anything I have sky+ed today

I have just hung the washing out and it's started raining. I knew I was pushing it, but it was so lovely when we got up.

I'm going to have to leave the washing, if I stick DS back in the playpen he'll get really upset.

Peppa, I usually run out of steam after that first rush of activity in the morning.
I like to list everything though as it's motivating.

HMHB - sorry you are feeling crap, there seems to be a lot going around at the moment.

Alice/Peppa - very jealous of your sleep

Before last nights good sleep he a couple of nights where he woke at 2ish for a least an hour and a half, he was quite cheerful just wanted to play rather than sleep I just can't sleep knowing that he is awake.

Well I'm not babysitting tonight, they have decided to stay in, Think parenting is turning out to be harder than they thought!

dd has to stay on her drops 8 times a day, which means I will have to go up to school and give her them or keep her off
So shes going to school, she would be devastated if I kept her off, shes not allowed out in the playground for 6 weeks and no swimming, (and she dosen't require anymore care than a healthy 8 year old)

going to change beds
think about dinner
do more ironing
have a shower
bath dcs
read book

wonder if you think about dinner for long ehough will it miracously appear
bath dcs

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/08/2009 15:54

I feel so 'meh' today. Really want to go out but it's really really windy here and keeps raining so we're a bit stuck inside. Garden is too wet to go and play out there with DS even. Humph.

DONE
Up showered and dressed
DS changed, boobed and dressed
Breakfast x 3
Load dishwasher
Clear up kitchen
Lunch x 3
Unload dishwasher
Reload and tidy kitchen
Whites wash

TO DO

Handwashing

Plum x-posts. What a PITA about the drops, how long will that go on? I'm wondering the same about dinner myself today!!!

OP posts:
PlumBumMum · 28/08/2009 16:14

Ali hopefully another couple of weeks and then down to 6 times a day

I knew I had already typed bath dcs don't know how it got to the bottom of the page though, I'm definitely not with it today, Ali I'm the same I feel like we have been stuck in all summer, roll on school

Start thinking of new thread title everyone!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/08/2009 17:16

How about 'September Slatterns - How clean is your skirting??'

I have sat down in front of Pride and Prejudice (BBC version) and folded my washing. Feel much better

OP posts:
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 28/08/2009 17:49

I heart BBC Pride and Prej. Its nice to have an Elizabeth with bosoms instead of Kiera.

Still sofa surfing.

M&S lasagne for tea. Feeling a bit better - although don't let on to DH .

JustKeepSwimming · 28/08/2009 18:09

Hi all, trying to catch up:

Peppa - have you googled resetting Sky remote? it's happened to us a few times. If one button is pressed for too long (by a child for eg) is turns itself off and you have to press a series of buttons to reset it.

Ali - re bad sleep, could your being ill be messing with your milk? (sorry think you are bf) i found it did when i had a vomiting bug when feeding ds1.

Plum - why not allowed in the playground? seems excessive.

New title sounds good to me

No list today, not had a chance to get on here:
lots of phone calls to-ing and fro-ing but news re DS2:

  • Tues am, go in and register for MRI
  • then go to Epilepsy Development Clinic & see a Neuro-Psychiatrist
  • go back to ward for MRI
  • go home
  • Wed am go in for 24hr EEG (telemetry), stay in overnight
  • Thurs come home

oh, & fit in a meeting sometime Tues with the Professor whenever suits us between appointment!
phew!

They are taking us seriously at last and things are moving.
there is a possibility of surgery within 2/3 months.

fingers tightly crossed for good results and fast moving appointments!!!

Today:

  • just get by + trip to beach Doing

This week:

  • PIL here
  • remember Fire Station Open Day tomorrow
  • try and do family tree stuff
  • dust blinds in study (bought a gadget!), babywipe them first

PlumBumMum · 28/08/2009 18:57

JKS shes not allowed any 'rough and tumble' so no risks of someone bumping into her or being hit with a ball or falling, shes not allowed on her bike or go swimming

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 28/08/2009 20:05

By the way going to see my Dad this weekend - see the chat thread for ranting about his GF. Haven't seen him since March so there may be a rant coming from this direction on Mon / Tues.

Am liking September Slatterns Ali - hope you have a better night with DS.

I hope everyone has a great Bank Holiday weekend with nice relatives and good children who clean up after themselves. Then we can all have a breather when they go to school!

Plum - thats a pain re drops and school! At least you will know she is getting them properly though.

By the way. If anyone is having a bad day you may feel better when you know that I am still in my PJ's! but I am ill (ish)..... actually feeling a lot better now.

List
DS to bed done
Make tea - cheers M&S
Pack for tomorrow
Watch more crap on tv

PlumBumMum · 28/08/2009 20:21

HMHB good luck seeing your dad,

My dad will probably be at funeral tomorrow but I am not going to think about that, dh has to work so I have to go on my own, so fingers crossed for me

Anyone have cikecaka on their Facebook and check shes ok?
