Alibabaandthe40nappies · 25/08/2009 21:10

Evening

Feeling a bit more human. My Mum has cleaned the kitchen so we are fine there but there are toys everywhere so the place looks like a bombsite.
Off to bed soon, and then going to take it easy tomorrow. DH is feeling a bit better so hopefully can get a couple of loads of washing done before that all starts to mount up.

I use babywipes to dust all my paintwork, windowsills, skirting etc. Then I use my handheld Dyson to dust the furniture. Can normally go a week between dusting at that.

Good morning all

I hope everyone is ok, i haven't had chance to read through yet.

Had a very good day yesterday but got home feeling tired and emotional to an empty house, and with a grumpy toddler to feed and put to bed. DD woke up crying last night, i think she had a bad dream, and then i couldn't get back to sleep so got up feeling a bit bleugh this morning and now AF has arrived so feeling rubbish and if i didn't have horses then i wouldn't leave the house today, but as it is i have to go soon and get dressed, DD dressed and go to the horses. And i have been bitten by something on my leg and have a huge bump (i have a feeling today could be rather stressful)

Everyone up done
Everyone breakfast doing
Everyone dressed
Make beds
Turn horse out
Unload and reload dishwasher
Go to stay and play (maybe)
Put washload on
Dry washing
Get mince out of the freezer

Quick tidy round
Clean coffee machine
Do horses/ride
Make Lasagne
DH Home!!!!!!!!!!!
Eat dinner, drink wine and have a good evening.

MmmEggs · 26/08/2009 08:37

Coming home tired and emotional to an empty house is one of the worst things imo.

Yup, DH is still around atm - goes back to work for half day tomorrow, then all Friday, then tis bank holiday weekend

I'm having my hair done this morning

Sorry I posted message before it was finished because DS3 wanted his morning nap, he is now sleeping.

NA When you think you are starting to get stressed, jsu remind yourself of DH homecoming, maybe it would help.

JKS Happy birthday to your DH!!

I am feeling really tired today, DS3 woke too many times last night, I am going to do things that don't involve too much energy today, possibly watch a film with DC this afternoon. Its raining here so I have hung the washing in the kitchen, I will have to tumble it later.

Have just had my read through

Ali poor you, hope you feel better soon, i used to get tonsilitis all the time when i was younger, it really is horrid. (i actually had it really badly at christmas when i was about 8 and was being sick all day with it, did get out of going to church though and spent the time watching christmas films so not that bad )

Hey wasting good to see you back. Sometimes i am tempted to completely let the housework go just so i can have Kim and Aggie round to do it properly Those people on there have left it for years though, so that could be a struggle

I am actually having a lovely day, DD and i have played with some jigsaw puzzles and with her dolls and teddies and i have managed to read quite a bit of my book, so although i haven't got much done, we are both chilled and happy and looking forward to seeing DH.

The whole thing with my mum i was unsure of because she has no idea that i know any of this. I do forgive her because she is trying so hard and is happy what we have which is a relationship on my terms really. If she wants to get something for DD then she asks first, tidies her house before we go round so DD can have somewhere to play (it is normally a complete state - thats saying something coming from a self confessed slattern ) All in all i am fine about the whole thing now, i can keep it in the past without a worry of it popping up at any moment.

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 26/08/2009 12:56

plum I take it your are reading TTW, I'm going to have to hurry up and finish New Moon so I can read it. I am going to read when DS3 has his nap, instead of doing housework, then just before DH comes home I will have a quick tidy so it looks like I have been busy!!

claireybee · 26/08/2009 14:10

I feel like I've done nothing today so I'm just going to list every little thing I have done to make me feel better!

And grrrr Ali you made me see how disgusting my blinds are last night (not that i've done anything about it!)

DONE
All up&dressed
Breakfast

Changed nappies x3
2 loads of washing done and on line
Gone to PO
Gone to sainsburys to return top
Gone to homebase to buy tulip bulbs
Gone to tk maxx just for the hell of it because we are there

Hello Slatterns

Flame - oh dear about the wall, but yay for good hair.

JKS - Happy Birthday to DH

Alice - that all sounds really positive, glad you are having a good day today

Wasting, good to see you back! How are you getting on with the wool?

Peppa - take it easy today, hope you get a better night tonight.

Very small list, necessities only. I am so glad that slatterns has got me on top of the housework - even with a few days of not doing anything the place is still clean even though it's untidy.

Glad the hair is nice flame, makes such a difference to how you feel I find!

Oooh I also went to chemist and bought a make up brush, a mascara, sunglasses for ds (disney princess ones ) and a skipping rope! Maybe I'll get fit now

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/08/2009 14:16

Clairey x-posts - sorry about the blinds!

Peppa - I tried to do mine using my Dyson handheld last week and it was moderately successful I think the problem is, it's so long since I've done them that the dust is kind of stuck on

That gadget looks interesting JKS, I will look out for one.

Ali when I was reading your post I some how replaced Peppas name with Flame so I read that you did your hair with the Dyson last week I was thinking it was some new mn hairdo(I'm actually really giggling with the thought of it)

That cheered me up my mum called me this morning to say my cousin died last night, she was only 40 but was diagnosed with motor nueorones(sp) last year and supposed to be getting a peg in her stomach today to feed her, for her ds but better for her

Peppa TTW is very good have been helping ds with Super Mario so I am going to sit and read now on page 145, but I have to sort some washing!

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 26/08/2009 15:01

ali It works on my new wooden blinds because I am actually trying to keep them clean , but when I had PVC ones the grime did stick to them, on a couple of occasions I wipe each slat over with a babywipe, worked a treat, tis time consuming though.

plum What news. I have been reading too, but just like you I have to do some housework before I drown in the mess I will treat myself to some more book later!! I am feeling a little more human now (the quiet book time was well worth it) so I am going to get on!!

clairey thats why I like listing, even if the house looks like a bombsite I still know I have done something!!

Plum - I've PMSL so much at that that it's made my throat hurt more!
Very sad about your cousin, although as you say better for her .

Peppa - mine are wood. I must go over them with a baby wipe, but they are in our bay window in the living room so there is a lot of them!!

Wasting they are so fab. We find that DS sleeps better when he's wearing his, only one wake up in the night rather than the usual two.

Feeling slightly better, throat still v.v.sore though. The bonus is that I'm not eating much so at least it's good for my waistline!
