Ouch JKS. RE food, I am lucky in that my two aren't fussy and will eat most things but dd didn't eat at all til she was over one and still eats very little in terms of quantity so I do know how frustrating it is to have meals rejected. Some favourite meals are roasts, chilli and rice, jollof rice, carrot and lentil burgers with wedges and the very simple pasta with peas and grated cheese.

Flame I think that sounds doable, maybe aim to do one a day and focus just on that for the day so you can get lots of lovely dones on the list. I would advise not cleaning the kitchen until after you have batch cooked though or you will just have to do it all again Also I never got round to clearing my bedroom before I had ds and it drove me mad having all my clutter and baby clutter in there so I'd prioritise that if I were you. Love the name btw.

PMT seems to have subsided but no period yet...don't even know properly when I am due on, the 20 something!

Spent most of the morning wandering around in circles, starting one thing, then seeing 5 others that needed doing and not actually getting any of them done. I realised it was because I hadn't done a list-it seems that if I have a list I can work through them methodically but without one I get nowhere

so:
All up, dressed, breakfasted - DONE
Washing up - DONE
Wipe kitchen sides and dining table ? DONE
Load of washing in - DONE
Hang load of washing on line- DONE
Handwash Cardigan ? DONE (cheated and used handwash cycle on machine
2nd load of washing in ? DONE
2nd load on line ?
Hoover downstairs ? DONE
Mop floors -
Dust sitting room ? DONE
Tidy playroom -
clean loo -
Clean bathroom ?
Look up marrow recipes ? DONE
Try to get mark off arm of chair - DONE
Lunch ? DONE
Yoga -
Cook dinner ?

Did most of that with ds on my back because he was being whingy and clingy. He's such a huge lump now!

I'm happy with Norks or Flame (the name is based on that being all that I have sorted for newborn, but at the same time it being all it really needs)

Hope the pants has gone ok JKS.

I have fixed the throw to go over the most broken armchair (DS found tears in the fabric so "helped" them) and even fixed some of the less bad tears. I'm mid clearing the lounge and rearranging it. DH wanted to know why it needed rearranging, but it is so that the sofa is in best tv viewing position (at the moment I am opting for arm chairs) for when I am sat feeding baby etc He thinks I am insane.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 21/08/2009 16:51

Flame - Sounds very important to me - optimum TV viewing position while BFing is essential!
That's so true about the norks/nappies, and really quite a calm way to think about the baby.

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 21/08/2009 17:40

Well the pants thing has gone as expected - only one wee, and in the pants.
we've had a sit on the loo now and i got all excited as thought he was doing a poo...was just hot air

I am dreading the potty training - what age are you supposed to do it at??

I have nearly finished - pity it's still my list from Wednesday!
Going to go and clean the bath now and then have a shower.

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 21/08/2009 18:02

How long is a piece of string type question - when they're ready.... don't think he is entirely ready but wanted him to 'feel' what wees and poos are - modern nappies are almost too good at doing their job.

NorksNappiesAndNowtElse · 21/08/2009 18:04

I love how we can get so excited about toilets when they are potty training. DS has regressed a lot since I got pregnant Tis so much fun doing extra washing.

I forgot to say to whoever said about leaving kitchen til last - it is really about getting the health hazard grime off the rarely done places, DH is pretty much in charge of general kitchen atm.

NorksNappiesAndNowtElse · 21/08/2009 18:06

With "when" - DD wanted to wear pants from just before her second birthday. I kept putting her in pull ups because I had my wedding coming up and couldn't face training til after. She ended up having major issues doing poos anywhere other than nappies, and only fixed herself when DS was born - that may have happened anyway though, will never know.

DS - I think he was about 18 months - 2 yrs when he decided he wanted to go for it. He just didn't want nappies on (have since discovered he just likes being naked ) Was much easier just doing it when he said.

JustKeepSwimming · 21/08/2009 19:08

Norks - maybe divide the kitchen into grids and just tackle one square at a time? you are allowed a reward for each square, double if you do two at a time!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 21/08/2009 20:20

Norks / Flame good to see you back. I haven't been on the Oct pregnancy board for ages so am a bit out of touch with other big bellied lovelies.

I must say it looks much scarier when you write how many weeks to go rather than the usual weeks pg!

Ali - we started DS potty training when he started getting interested in the loo, wee's and poos in general. Then we did a potty training boot camp where he went cold turkey on nappies in the day. He is still in nappies at night.

Talking about night time. Last night was hideous. The fire alarm went off at 1.30am for no reason and DS woke at 6am cos his nappy came off and there was wee in his bed. I couldn't get back to sleep due to baby hiccuping. Aaaargh....bit tired now.

Jobs
Gestate - 31 weeks doing
DS to nursery and back done
Go to work done
Ring Orange and fix broadband hopefully done
Ring to try to fix Sky tried - may need to get a man in.
Have shower and put comfy clothes on done
Filing
Get DS to bed - DH doing again
Pack for mini break with friend

Before October
Clear out freezer and fill with delicious ready meals
Buy lots of 'healthy' snack type stuff to eat on the run
Cancel childcare vouchers DH doing
Get out all baby stuff and clean / buy new stuff if necessary
Get a Wii fit
Get subscription to Grazia to keep me sane
Get some DVD's to watch whilst breastfeeding

Any ideas on how to keep me sane once DC2 arrives most welcome.

NorksNappiesAndNowtElse · 21/08/2009 21:04

Lol @ giving me sticker charts!!!!

I have now done all the lounge that I can (their toys is an "if I can be arsed when all is over" job). The hoover seems to have broken though - it is picking up with the hose, but not the main bit and I can't work out why (have removed various bits).

DH is looking slightly scared - especially when I leapt in the car to go to b&q for tester pots to cover up the pen on the wall

NorksNappiesAndNowtElse · 21/08/2009 21:11

HMHB - I gave up with the Oct thread in the end. It was one more thing to beat myself up about not doing iyswim. I;ve forgotten - when are you due?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 21/08/2009 22:42

Flame well done - lol @ DH

HMHB - hope you get a better night's sleep tonight!

I finally got my list finished. Not going to do proper lists over the weekend - we are spending most of it with the outlaws .

Night everyone
