Thanks, have just posted a thread asking if anyone knew of one

alicecrail · 13/08/2009 19:55

Bugger. It can't be PND though as DD is nearly 2 and when i took that test when she was a year old i got something like 6, now it is 19 and that has made me feel stupidly angry

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 13/08/2009 20:02

Ali I don't know if you are on AD but my Dr said I could take a sleeping tablet to help me sleep with the AD I am taking, its so bloody annoying be tired and not being able to switch off and go to sleep, it means you end up having one bad day after another.

Also I sometimes feel like if my house is in chaos so is my mind IYSWIM, that why I find listing on here helpful, although sometimes I get annoyed with myself for not doing all the tasks. If my mind is in chaos I just leave the house and meet up with a friend and I instantly feel better.

alice sometimes motherhood feels like a rollercoaster that you can't get off, it just goes round and round. I regularly shout 'I just want a day off!!!!' Some days I am jealous of DH going off to work, he gets a uninnterupted tea break.

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 13/08/2009 20:04

You can get PND at anytime after giving birth, so my HV said.

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 13/08/2009 20:05

Also those test things wind me up because its was telling me something I didn't want to hear but once I started to take steps to do something about it I knew taking the test was the write thing.

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 13/08/2009 20:06

right thing.

cikecaka · 13/08/2009 20:11

AC, I am at 18. Funny thing is I had PND after first 3, I felt brilliant after birth of DD3, put it down to continuing on my Iron Tablets. Plus when I had the other 3 I couldnt lift a finger, DH used to come home and do everything in the evenings. I am the exact opposite since DD3 arrived, plus she is 2 and a half!!

JustKeepSwimming · 13/08/2009 21:05

Have just made Brown Bread (still in oven) and some choc chip cookies

Finished Cleaning DD2s room YAY

think it will be up early for me in the morning to finish cleaning!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 13/08/2009 21:35

Crikey - 22 on that test .

JKS - glad you all got out for some time together . I do that with teething too.

Alice - I can see why you feel like that, espcially if DH is going out. I think I am very lucky that DH doesn't go out without me, apart from the occasional beer after work. Can you book a babysitter and go out with DH so that you don't feel so stranded?

CC - sorry you are feeling rubbish too . Make sure you use one of those mornings to do something for you.

Peppa I know what you mean about just getting out, but I feel that it's then all just waiting for me when I get back IYKWIM? I will ask my GP about sleeping tablets, I've got to do something.

Sleep well everyone, 'see' you tomorrow

Night night ALI, just having a choc chip cookie, lovely! Back to healthy eating in the moning

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 13/08/2009 21:53

IKWYM about it still being there when you get back, but I find I come back with a less anxious mind and I seem able to deal with it better. When I was at my lowest point I was spending every spare minute cleaning and tidying and not spending quality time with my DC, DH or myself. I am now trying to changemy priorities and put housework second.

I would use the state of my home to rate how good a mum I am, when actually the happiness of my DC indicates my mothering abilities

Sorry I'mrambling on about nothing in particular.

Night all

cikecaka · 13/08/2009 21:58

Peppa, I have a sign in my kitchen thats says
Dirty Dishes
Dirty Floors
Happy Kids

I have lived by that for nearly 13 years

Thanks for listening everyone, feel a bit brighter by just admitting it!!!

DD3 has woken up after going to bed at 7.30 , and is looking for me to hold hands with her teddies and do ring-a-rosie!

Night everyone, see you in the morning!!

alicecrail · 14/08/2009 07:46

Good morning all

Thank you for last night.

Ali i hope you managed to sleep last night, i seem to be the opposite and always want to sleep at the moment. Sleeping has always been a coping strategy of mine.

Unfortunately our babysitter is the 'friend' that is being really flaky at the moment, although my dad lives about 45mins away so might ask him to look after DD for an evening.

I have such a busy day, i feel i need to write a list just so i can get it clear in my head what i am doing. Maybe if i get into a decent routine again things will feel better.

Everyone up done
Everyone breakfast done
Everyone dressed
Turn horse out and skip out field
Get changed
Put washload on
Go to Wiggle and Jiggle at 9.30
Go to interview at 10 (hopefully Daisy will stay in W and J with the play worker)
Hang washing out
Sort kitchen
Lunch
Ride and muckout horses
Cook dinner
Early bed for everyone

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 14/08/2009 08:26

Morning everyone Back from taking DH to the station, DS and I just having some breakfast.
My brother e-mailed late last night and has apologised for upsetting me. I can't just turn off how I've been feeling towards him, but hopefully this will be the beginning of reconcilation. I do feel like a weight has been lifted, so I'm hoping this might help me feel better.

Alice - we are in the same position that we have no-one nearby. My parents are about 45/50 mins away and have had DS before, but I don't like to put on them too much. I am looking into how much getting a 'proper' babysitter would be so that DH and I can go out for dinner on our own, or to a concert or something. We have very much become parents rather than a couple recently and the balance needs redressing.

CC - I ate one of Plum's Philly Brownies before I went to bed last night, yum

Hope everyone has a better day today

List
Up and dressed - done
DS boobed, changed and dressed - done
Washing out of machine - done
Take DH to station - done
Breakfast x 2 - done
Hang out washing
Clean kitchen, needs a good scrub
Empty bathroom and my bedroom bin
DS nap
Me nap, only had 3.5 hours sleep
Lunch x 2
Out for a walk
Get washing in and fold
Decide what to make for dinner
Find out what time DH will be home
Dust living room, dining room and hallway
Dinner x 3
Relax
Sleep

Morning all

Babysitters (& the cost of them) are a necessary evil of parenthood for most of us i think - how many people are lucky enough to have grand-parents (or others) on hand to sit whenever needed? of those that do btw!!

I have worked my way through various teenagers, they will go off to uni or go and get jobs, most inconvenient
Have a good lad at the mo, he's fab.

  • transfer all family trees over to Mac software
  • then go through 1911 census (again)
  • plan & use reward chart for ds1 to get him using the toilet
  • list last 2 items to sell on eBay
  • sort out a wireless phone system (try out old wireless phone first at a temporary fix)

Does anyone want to join me in some housework support today and tomorrow? I am really struggling to want to do anything, but i know that if the house is tidy and clean i will feel better. Vicious circle.

I am having a coffee, and then i want to put a washload on and tidy/clean the kitchen.

cikecaka · 14/08/2009 11:22

Bloody raining! Had to bring 3 DNs,1 DN and DD3 home because of it, left DD1 and DD2 and DN there, will try and convince DS to keep an eye on these so I can go back for their medal ceremony.

What kind of Housework support? I need to wash Bathroom Floor, Hoover upstairs (clean rooms), Hoover the stairs and landing and all of downstairs.

Going to tackle DS room tomorrow and try and put away clothes
