We were away last week so nothing achieved. Several ins yesterday as DD needed some new clothes. I've also realised her and I need some new hangers, she has several too small and I've broken a few recently.
DP and I have done some gardening today so outdoor decluttering: pruning done, weeds removed and garden storage box sorted out (got rid of 4 balls, a broken kids watering can, 2 water pistols, several plant labels and 6 small pots).

For hangers these are the bomb

Amazon Basics Slim Velvet Non-Slip Suit Hangers - Pack of 30, Black amzn.eu/d/foGqIjE

give you so much more space in wardrobes!

EducatingArti · 29/08/2022 18:05

Has anyone tried the project 333 thing with clothes. I'm wondering about it but not sure!

ememem84 · 29/08/2022 18:25

I keep thinking about it. But then I don’t think I could do it. What I can do is just not buy anything new (either new new or second hand new) unless completely out of that category.

that’s how I’m currently working with toiletries and make up. Nothing new until I’m completely out.

Vinorosso74 · 29/08/2022 19:22

@ememem84 those hangers look ideal. Thank you!

EducatingArti · 29/08/2022 19:29

Just been through my wardrobe. Including coats and shoes I've identified about 45 items I'm going to wear for the next 3 months. Haven't got rid of much other stuff as it may work for the next 3 months etc. Have relegated a few never wear/ don't fit items to the chazza box. Hoping to do a chazza run tomorrow if I can manage it.

ememem84 · 29/08/2022 21:30

@Vinorosso74 no problem. I have them and they’re ace. Also while you’re reorganising do it in colour order. Looks so pretty. But keep black and navy very separate.

WildBlueAndDitzy · 30/08/2022 17:27

Today's outs: 2 small boxes of obsolete spare parts

seperatedmum · 30/08/2022 19:11

managed to get rid of one of the last things from the loft today by relisting it on olio; just been collected, another lady has been in touch about an item she promised to collect, playpen I'm on the verge of relisting but getting my first olio in of a vent kit I really need. not bad considering we've been out most of the day

LivingInaBuildingSite · 30/08/2022 21:27

Out in the last couple of days:

5 x pairs of knackered shoes
floor sample
loads of school paperwork into recycling

have given up on trying to count numbers as definitely more stuff coming in with new uniform, shoes, etc.

DH and DS2 managed to actually do lots of useful tidying up while I was at work, shocker, but it has made a difference.

Jellycatrabbit · 31/08/2022 12:12

Yes I've done project 333. Key is to get the start date right. You want to be expecting roughly consistent weather across your 3 months. Otherwise it's too hard!

Baby bath, sling and bouncy chair gone to friend with a newborn. 4 year old mouthwash down the sink. Slow progress while the kids are off - need to delve under their beds next week which is my dumping ground for old linens, duvets etc. Think somewhere is harbouring moths 😱

LivingDeadGirlUK · 31/08/2022 13:20

I did project 333 a few years ago and posted on the style and beauty board at the time. It was really useful actually but agree with PP, start in October, not September, I had to cut some blocks short if we had an early spring of late winter.

My decluttering journey slowly plods on. I've made considerable space in the conservetory and got a lot of stuff off the floor in the kitchen, I feel if we can tackle the table we may well be there in that room.

My partner has made a start in the office but its still the Room of Doom so to speak.

seperatedmum · 31/08/2022 21:14

arranged collection of that item, relisted the playpen, fitted yesterdays 'in' , felt very gung-go earlier then got triggered by Facebook something 🥺 bit of a neutral day

EducatingArti · 31/08/2022 22:21

Took a box and a large carrier bag full of stuff to the charity shop today. A good deal of it was clothes but some other bits and pieces too.

Nordicmom · 01/09/2022 22:15

And now now I have Covid after DS got sick on our trip so this summer has been truly S… after DH covid ruined our Finland trip and all the horrendous heat that made me feel so sick for months . I’m a bit concerned about getting very sick with all my underlying conditions and steroids so we’ve contacted the gp about treatment but I’m not holding my breath . I’ve had to cancel and reschedule about 20 things and try to stay on top of the house / school things from my bedroom since yesterday or it’ll all go to absolute hell despite DH working from home to do the school run etc . My mums telling me not to do anything and just rest but how is that going to work ?! DH is never in top of any of this stuff . I am sleeping a lot since I feel horrendous .
it’s absolutely ridiculous how much we have going on atm , the 3 / 4 w of landscaping is meant to be starting next Mon as well , we had lots of appointments and other things booked , all these maintenance and repair men meant to be coming in and even DD belated birthday party the weekend after this . It’s very lucky I generally do things early so when things go to S… it’s not a complete disaster . Got my positive last night and my first fever of 12 y while sick with my adrenal insufficiency so I guess I’m properly sick but my immune system is fighting which is a good thing . Worried about my lungs I’m prone to chest infections and they’re definitely more slimy today thankfully the headache is better than last night .

seperatedmum · 02/09/2022 08:06

I have a few "youngsters"

stealthninjamum · 02/09/2022 15:33

nordicmom I’m sorry to hear you’ve got covid, I hope you feel better soon.

i am not going to make my 3000 target but I’m sure I’m almost at 2,400 so it’s been a good summer. I’ve managed to spend time decluttering and with dc. I’ve also decluttered with dc.

The last couple of weeks have been doing the playroom - grouping together old Duplo, playmobil and sylvanian family toys. I sold a dolls house which was huge and got rid of a laptop that was too slow to be of use. I’m particularly pleased about these as old electronics just accumulate and the dolls house - on its table - was about four feet high so there’s a load of new space in the playroom.

EllieQ · 02/09/2022 18:03

Hope you recover soon @Nordicmom Covid (or any other illness) always seems to come just at the most inconvenient time!

Today's decluttering: Got DD to try on school uniform from last year to see what still fits (everyday decluttering). Put all the age 5-6 skirts (and a couple of age 4-5 trousers that had been lurking in the wardrobe) into a bag to take into school next week. She’s still in age 6-7, but I have bought uniform in the next size up to be ready.

I also took two almost-empty jars of jam that have been in the fridge for some time (since before the pandemic 🙈), and cleaned the jars out to be recycled (long term clutter!).

Also cleaned my kitchen sink today, so I feel quite productive!

WildBlueAndDitzy · 03/09/2022 13:42

Today's out: a dress and a magazine

ememem84 · 03/09/2022 13:47

dropped Off my stuff at charity shop yesterday.

seperatedmum · 04/09/2022 14:12

that item was finally collected, so hopefully of use to the recipient

LivingInaBuildingSite · 04/09/2022 16:43

DD has finally started tidying her pit of a room.
Out:
so far lots of rubbish,
food back to the kitchen (!)
and 3 bags in the charity box.
plus one rucksack to wash and see if she (I) can sell it as it’s an expensive Smiggle one.

In: new loo roll holder and towel rail for downstairs loo.

have given up on numbers out for now.

seperatedmum · 04/09/2022 20:06

a big charity recycling bag made up. found a hydration vest I hadn't even tried on yet in the cupboard, culled outgrown shoes and sent decent ones next door. 3 preschool bags I'll give back to the preschool tomorrow. really triggered by back to school stuff throwing the focus on how crap everything is 🥺 had a nice in yesterday
