I’m getting my decluttering mojo back. I have been focusing on packing stbexh’s stuff into boxes which mainly means going through books and DVDs. I now have six boxes of his stuff - about to pack a seventh.

I have also found 13 books, some toys and a vase to go.

Total is now 605 items in the ‘out’ pile (although most have already left the house)

ememem84 · 15/04/2022 20:21

Other outs today.

Finished a face cleanser. And have emptied my travel toiletries. So these can be washed and put away. Reusable bottles.

Dsis’ birthday gifts were delivered to her today so that also clears some space.

EllieQ · 15/04/2022 21:14

The house looks lovely @ememem84

Another batch of DD’s clothes sorted through today, meaning I have emptied the box of 18-24 months clothing. I’m pleased with myself. As usual, I kept a few items, but the rest is in a bag ready to go to the charity shop.

There’s been a few ins this week as it was DD’s birthday, but as I already sorted a bag of baby toys to go to charity, it feels more balanced Smile

ememem84 · 16/04/2022 07:40

I’ve told DH I’m ready to get rid of the dcs pram. This is a huge step

WildBlueAndDitzy · 16/04/2022 10:04

Out went a pair of worn out boots today

londonmummy1966 · 16/04/2022 17:45

A bag of bits to textile recycling bin and DH was moved to sort through his polo shirts and identify those which had "shrunk in the wash" - aka he's outgrown.

Spent some time looking through the drawings the jewellery designer has sent me to rework all the bits I don't wear - the fun side of decluttering!

Thanks @londonmummy1966 found the new one!

👋 been gone a while. Need to get rid of so much clutter!

WildBlueAndDitzy · 16/04/2022 18:10

Got rid of a toilet mat I never use

Sexnotgender · 16/04/2022 18:27

Can I join? I’m moving country in about 3.5 months and I’ve got so much shit to get rid of😱🙈

CatrinVennastin · 16/04/2022 20:13

@ememem84 wow your kitchen looks fabulous

I fell off the other thread ages ago but am determined to get back on the decluttering mission next week once the kids are back at school.

Not much progress in the last few months. Everyone had covid except me!

I have been doing loads of work in our garden as it was an absolute tip and I want to be able to sit out and relax this summer.

EllieQ · 16/04/2022 20:32

One item out today - a slow cooker that we never use has gone to a local charity helping families in need. It was taking up lots of space in a kitchen cupboard, so now I’ve freed up some space and will organise it properly tomorrow.

Of course you can Smile That's a huge task, have you started?
oakleaffy · 16/04/2022 21:46

2 bags of rubbsh out the office, needs a good hoover now but such an improvement

ememem84 · 17/04/2022 07:47

Put some furniture together yesterday so this mornings job is to clear the understands cuobkardnof things that were previously in cupboards in living room and out these into new furniture. Then clear garage of all the crap that used to live under the stairs.

ememem84 · 17/04/2022 08:03

Also just checked and have £600 refunded to my cc from the stay at the golf club. Deposit paid less electric used. Phew.

And it’s payday on Thursday. That cannot come soon enough.

Sexnotgender · 17/04/2022 08:30

Kind of 🙈

ChampagneCommunist · 17/04/2022 08:54

Up at 5:45 to do a car boot sale. Stuff is shifting, but a bit of a lull at the moment

LivingInaBuildingSite · 17/04/2022 09:02

Well done on the boot sale.

I’ll be happy just to get back to pre-sleepover party state today. Plus presents & Easter eggs - at least they can be eaten 🐣😃

LivingInaBuildingSite · 17/04/2022 14:41

Ok, most sleepover stuff back where it started & floor hoovered.

Out:

Random picture frame insert that appeared, no idea where it came from - binned.
Random mothers Day gift of paper flowers from years ago - recycled.

= 2

Got to start somewhere!

ememem84 · 17/04/2022 16:45

In. Easter eggs. Chocolate and two books for the kids.

Outs. Cardboard to the recycling place.

stealthninjamum · 17/04/2022 18:34

Welcome newbies.

.champagnecommunist I’ve never been to a car boot sale. Did you sell much? I’ve always wondered if it would be better to do it in one go rather than dribs and drabs on Facebook but then I’m not great with sunday mornings.

56 plastic eggs are going to a friend with a toddler. Dc are too old for egg hunts now. I also found four nice storage boxes that I don’t need any more so I thought I’d put them in the charity shop pile.

Total for 2022 is now 665 so I’m on target for
my target of 2022 items

ChampagneCommunist · 17/04/2022 19:45

@stealthninjamum I made £50 and got rid of some bulky stuff. So a win.

But you have to put in the time to put aside while sorting & the time to do the sale.

So, not the right option for all circumstances

Elenorrigbywoes · 17/04/2022 19:46

I am rejoining this thread as I found it so helpful last year when I decluttered loads. I am off this week so hope to declutter at least 100 items - wish me luck.
I dumped three old plastic drinking cups, a tshirt and some artwork today so roughly ten items.
