Building our bonfires with clutter, and cruising towards Christmas, it's the NOVEMBER fledgling Fly thread!

Many of us have been here forever; it's the thread where we (loosely) follow the Flylady housekeeping system here to combat CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) with a load of Wine, chat and mutual support along the way. For that reason, we may seem cliquey, but we really aren't and all newcomers, lurkers, returnees, regulars, and intermittent regulars are hugely welcome!

We will be posting the baby-step and flight plan (which will point you towards the current zone and missions) on a daily basis, but don't hesitate to ask further questions about the system if you have any!

More information on getting started available here (containing baby-steps!).

And borrowing heavily (again!) from Hill's September introduction...

There are 4 levels for Flying:
-Baby steps - good for finding a routine in the tasks and getting over the perfection crippling effect
-Baby steps and missions - yep basic routine and more in depth tasks

  • Baby steps, missions, and deep cleaning (if you are at that stage) - can't clean clutter so don't consider this one if you need the next level
  • Flying combined with a decluttering system (kondo/unfuck etc etc) lets be honest fly lady is good for routine but not so quick with the decluttering results sometimes.

There is NO wrong or right way of doing this, it is about adapting the system to suit your life circumstances, which will be different from someone else's and don't be put off by the barftastically twee nature of the Flylady site, the underlying system is sound. Feel free to ignore any step or routine that doesn't sound you or your home! No perfectionism allowed!

And when it all gets too much: come and take a seat by the fire in our specially adapted "naughty" corner where you can enjoy virtual Cake and Wine and tangible support from fellow fledglings.

More info follows:

** launch pad (general info)

** daily babysteps pdf (ignore the ones that don't suit you or your home)

** week day missions (some fledglings find it easier to do them at weekends)

** [[http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/flying-lessons/zones/
info about zones]] (explanation of how zones work)

** weekly zones (a rough weekly guide to which area of the house we are tackling currently, again adapt to suit yourself)

** daily focus (helpful guide to allocate a certain day for a certain task)

** deep cleaning lists pdf (only attempt when you have decluttered as you can't clean clutter!)

Good luck and happy Flying one and all!

Back from the dentist. Diagnosis: dry socket. Have antibiotics prescription. And the crown fitting didn’t work either so I’m not even finished 😭

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/11/2018 17:18

Oh cag
Flowers

Cagliostro · 05/11/2018 17:27

Thanks my lovely! Luckily I still have some jelly left and soup. Feeling is only just coming back and I’m all tingly (I needed extra injection by extraction site as I could still feel it when he was cleaning it)

Apparently these particular ABs are rather rough on tummies so I’m planning on doing as little as possible for the next week or so. Can’t pick them up until tomorrow anyway, I have the GP in the morning to ask for ADs (possibly) so will get them all at once.

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/11/2018 17:50

Do you know what they're giving you(I'm guessing metrodanzinole?)

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/11/2018 17:56

Metronidazole...

I've had that for a serious dental abcess that threaten swell my windpipe shut....

Best advice I was given is NEVER add to an empty stomach-even couple digestives/oatcakes will ease potential side effects...I opted for ginger oatcakes(Nairn's do some they're very gingery, very low sugar) not sure if because I was convinced ginger biscuits would keep me ok or it was just the way my body managed them but I just had but tummyache and slightly dodgy bum, nothing majorSmile

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/11/2018 17:56

Oh and even hint alcohol will make you like!

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/11/2018 17:57

FFS puke.i said puke not like you stupid phone!!!!

Cagliostro · 05/11/2018 18:20

Yes that’s the one! He said that about food and alcohol (not an issue am virtually tee total anyway even before pregnancy/BF 🙄 although I may get myself a classy can of Malibu and coke to celebrate when I’m healed 😂) he also said things like yoghurt specifically are good

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/11/2018 18:35

I always have plain natural yogurt when have take antibiotics as ment prevent thrush and stop all gut bacteria being destroyed

Cagliostro · 05/11/2018 18:47

I’d heard that too. I hate natural yoghurt though 😳 or actually maybe it’s just the Greek type. I could mix something in with it I guess

MsForestierinParis · 05/11/2018 18:55

When do we and our families get robust good health?

MsForestierinParis · 05/11/2018 18:56

Not that there's anything seriously wrong, thank goodness but it's just the constant low grade ailments and illnesses.

Cagliostro · 05/11/2018 19:09

So frustrating MsF isn’t it :( when it just feels like one bloody thing after another.

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/11/2018 20:12

Have you tried Yeo valley natural yogurt cag ? game changer here.its not got such a sharp twang and feels quite creamy in the mouth.ds likes it a lot with chopped banana and flaked almonds.dd2 loves warmed frozen berries, honey and dash vanilla.lil zoo has hers with tinned peaches/pineapple and pinch ginger

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/11/2018 20:13

Me? Any of the above or just a large spoon straight in the tub

Cagliostro · 05/11/2018 20:36

Oh fab that’s actually the one I was thinking of trying. I’ll add that to the delivery for tomorrow... that I haven’t ordered yet 🤦‍♀️

Things I’m supposed to have ordered today

  1. Tesco delivery for tomorrow
  2. Baby’s main Christmas present as it’s the last day for guaranteed Christmas delivery
  3. Safety gates as it’s the last day of a special offer

Things I have ordered today

  1. Curry
Bowerbird5 · 05/11/2018 22:39

Tired!

zoo you do make me laugh!

Slightly Dodgy bum😄😂😬

Ta das
Load of washing...towels.
Washed up, shined sink.
Wiped up DH s sloppy kettle mess.
Made bed( before work😄)

Still haven’t put clothes away.
Dozing off now. I got given two more jobs to do today.

Cagliostro · 06/11/2018 00:29

ta da
✅coped at the dentist - fucking hell that hurt
✅was a good friend to someone ❤️
✅ordered Cagletini’s main Christmas present in time!

ta didn’t
✅order Tesco as no slots for tomorrow
✅order stair gates as couldn’t find boots card 🤦‍♀️ It’ll end up costing less on Amazon anyway which makes up for the advantage card points
✅upload shopandscan barcodes so no points for last week
✅got DS to put a wash on
✅showered and got Caglets to
✅finish homework with DS, was supposed to check it on Sunday but not sure if that routine will work

So not a good day really but I am so uncomfortable I’m just happy to have got through it!

Doctors tomorrow and I’m not entirely sure what to say to them.

Also have a friend of Caglets round then another one later (must tidy) and then tap which will be emotional as it’s the last time we are seeing friends before they emigrate.

Rusty or not links work meet which is more than I could do!!

Well quick mental check says still aching all over but it's aschool day so best get up and get zoolets sorted!

Meet0nTheIedge · 06/11/2018 06:58

Just read back through yesterday. There do seem to be a lot of poorly Fledglings Sad.

Cag - I find plain yogurt on its own a bit sharp, I buy frozen berries, let them thaw in the fridge and mix them with a bit of honey or maple syrup it's lovely. I'd avoid anything with pips though at the moment - frozen cherries maybe?

Zoo - hope things improve a bit for you today too.

Last week was a bit crazy with Hallowe'en and various voluntary things (committee meetings plus help with catering at fireworks event at the weekend). This week is a bit less chock-full of calendar entries but the DCs and I all have dental checkups (all separate, couldn't find a block of three back to back at a time to suit). Flying-wise I am about to get up and do some ironing.

Bowerbird5 · 06/11/2018 07:07

Sorry to hear you ‘re ill SC. 💐.
Thanks Meet I wouldn’t know where to start.
Waves to zoo.
Have to get up too zoo. It’s a school day!
